Time for some new screenage methinks. I've got two of these babies although one's installed in Mrs D's system until such time that I get my case mod going and can watercool them, because they put out heat. And I mean a LOT of heat. I was approaching 100deg on the cores with two of them in my case, so that's on hold for now.
Even with the one, I max out BF4 with everything cranked all the way up to over 100fps at times, so I need to challenge these cards more.
I'm currently running an ASUS 1080p 24" flanked by two LG 1080p 22" monitors, although the 22s are getting sold soon 'cos they're crap and were a bad buy.
As it's my 30th coming up, I've decided to treat myself to a nice 27" 1440p monitor. I have a few options.
The Iiyama seriously looks the business, but people have complained about backlight bleed (when the screen's showing dark stuff, you can see the backlights shining through the screen = big nono) although this doesn't affect all of them and Overclockers UK are apparently more than happy to swap them around for one which doesn't have this issue.
Another option is the DELL Ultrasharp. This particular line is known for being Dell's finest. Stunning picture quality, and the most obvious choice, although not the best response times (I'm not too concerned about response times tbh, I don't have such fast reflexes anyways).
Then Hazro comes along and goes all "look at meeee" but from what I've read all over the net, their aftersales service is astonishingly bad, and that's not something I'm willing to tolerate. The screen itself gets excellent reviews though.
Benq also has a very nice screen which ticks all my boxes, but it's asspensiff.
Thing is, I spend so much time gaming and stuff that I want something good. There's no point spending this much on a monster machine and then spending the amount of time I do staring at a rubbish screen whilst my graphics cards just sit their laughing at me.
Bit of a tricky one this. Decisions, decisions.
Donate button's at the top btw.
