  2. Has to be Hardpoint for me, closely followed by Bounty. Love the objective nature of Hardpoint but puts Headquarters to shame as it has a good rotation around the map rather than feeling like one team always stomping the game in HQ. Something so exciting when you get a decent game and a little bit of comms between FGers and we can work our way out of sticky situations. Bounty shows that the subtle change to a gamemode like TDM can make it hugely popular and fun. The objective pulls you in as you can see where the Bounty is at all times, plus it gives other members a role of either attacking or defending given the fact you can get 5 points for a bounty kill. Wish they kept Bounty kills on the stattracker though, I feel like that would help show how much of a MVP you are in the round. I used to love Search and Destroy on every previous CoD but now I can see why only having one life can be quite frustrating. Early on in this MW2 game, we were loving Cyber Attack due to the unlimited revives you can have. However, the others just flow better as everyone is active all of the time.

  3. I've been interested in this previously but I know its about committing the time and effort towards it so everyone enjoys this. Thursdays will be our training night for Yara's football team. Likely home by 8pm but you never know in a few months as it could be slightly later. I'm also looking to pick up Gran Turismo nights back up too. Does this work better weekly? Or any other regular timeslot? I'm open to other days too if we can make it work. Also, is there like a timespan you can make them over e.g. 6 week campaign? Knowing it also has some form of an end may help some people to commit a block of weeks or nights perhaps? I'm gonna struggle with roleplay! but its something i've found interesting when watching...maybe watching one happen at FG first may help push me over the line to do it. Thanks for giving this a go at drumming up some interest James! Love seeing multiple things going on here.

  4. I'm sure most of us will be newcomers/ basic players to D&D so we can take it nice and easy to start with 👍 But if you are interested in getting a head start there are plenty of video on YouTube about starting D&D and D&D even have their own channel that cover some subjects.

  5. I have never played DnD before but have always been interested. If you're happy to teach me as we go I would be up for this 🙂 Any chance we could do 8pm onwards instead? Just means there is no chance of my daughter being awake and disrupting things?

  6. I assume 5th Edition will be easiest for everyone to understand and get into. I've never used a visual rep website but if you have any good ones you recommend I'm sure we could use that! Campaign to be decided by the DM, which I'm hoping can be someone that's DM'd before. I haven't myself so I'm hoping someone else can step up to the plate and decide some of those details. Otherwise I'm hoping we can get a small group together of dedicated regulars — don't particularly want to be chasing people every week.

A crappy weekend of weather meant I actually managed to find some time for gaming and I pretty much, other than a bit of PUBG with a friend from the bookshop, played Zero Seivert as much as I could. I am totally addicted to this little game. Its so brutal but every time I die I want to jump straight back in 🙃 Top down Stalker meets Tarkov and I'm loving it.

  8. Nice to see you getting this up and running @Lurchzy and yep, DnD Beyond is definitely the best site to use to set up characters. I take it you're doing 5e DnD? Are you using another site for visual representation of players or not going with that? What campaign are you doing? Who's DM? How many ppl are you expecting or hoping for? I'm in between sessions at the moment but I'll have to check if I can commit! If I think of anything else I'll be back 🙂

  9. Personally Thursday nights would be best for me, sort of 19:00-23:00 time. I would also suggest we use the D&D website below to create our characters ready for the event. https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters?utm_source=wizard&utm_medium=dndsite

  10. Well this looks a bit disappointing. Cringeworthy presentation too! TDU2 was an absolute classic which had a fantastic world and huge attention to detail. This looks like Forza from Wish and probably worse than The Crew 2.

  11. So after chatting through game modes briefly last night I discovered there is a reason why Bounty is my favourite game mode, mainly because on this COD out of 44 matches I have lost just one - My other go to is probably Kill Confirmed as it typically means if you are a team full of camping little fucknuggets then you are going to lose 😄 So yeah what game modes do you enjoy the most? Is there a reason why?

  12. absolutely, I ran Call of Cthulhu for @phil bottle @Diddums and Rich (can’t remember his name!) a few years back, was fun!

  13. oh, I wrote my last reply before reading this. I’m happy to run a one shot (one and done) campaign for people to get a flavour but I can’t commit to another evening regularly as I already play every Tuesday.

  16. Just another reason for people to invest some money and time with Gran Turismo 7. They continue to get free updates, additional cars and loads more challenges have been adding to make the game feel really chunky now, even when you've played a few hundred hours already.

I agree completely — however I feel like the development of these games are so advanced, e.g. the graphics and multitude of gameplay options, that competition has no chance. I mean has anyone here checked out UFL or GOAL? Two new football games but they're so far off EA Sports. Back in the day games weren't nearly as advanced and you didn't need a million dollar business investment to create a AAA game.

Another thing is all these trailers are nowhere near representative of the game or football either. Just a load of OTT nonsense with ludicrous animations, camera work and effects. These 'gameplay' trailers should all contain in-engine direct captures. Oh and I take it all back what I said above - EA did give us raw gameplay; about 1.7 seconds of it and it looks like FIFA 23, FIFA 22, FIFA 21, FIFA 20, FIFA 19 and FIFA 18. I really miss the 08-13 era because FIFA was just going from strength to strength and improvements were obvious and could truly be felt. The amount that was accomplished between 2007 and 2012 was so significant and although the series was propelled by a window of demise by PES as it struggled with a generational change, FIFA in that era had the licence and they finally had the gameplay to back it up with. Frostbite is a complete crock of shit for this game and the animations are worse than what they were a decade ago. The only difference with this engine is that there is a greater animation library but most of the time its just bloated with wonkiness and the engine itself cannot fathom which one to use so everything appears janky and cumbersome especially in slow mo. This was something PES nailed perfectly time and time again and things like the ball physics was a sight to behold as it captured everything perfectly. The games are also beginning to look so last gen too and I think we're getting to the stage where Frostbite is already pushed to its limitations, not just in this but with Battlefield too. E-Football is still two years off getting back to square one and that's wishful thinking and the other football game (UFL) is still not set in stone yet. Christ I miss the days when there was so much choice - Actua Soccer, TiF, ISS, Pro Evo, Adidas Power Soccer, Actua Soccer, UEFA Striker etc...

I watched it yesterday and I am with you, it was a dreadful presentation, an awful lot of waffle and nothing really on the game mechanics and such. They walked out all these players / ex players and talking about their association with the game, Erling Haaland in pajamas I just thought he looked a bit of a clown I won't lie which is a shame as he generally seems quite a sensible guy in football interviews and such. The talked about the history of the game and it being the biggest sports game and such but that's it, it felt like they were trying to just promote their brand with fc this and fc that but the reality is people just want to see what they have done with the game, have they refreshed it at all with the change in branding or is it just fifa 24 with a different name. This genre really need's a new competitor because their complacency is absurd. I love pro clubs with FG, one of my favourite events of the week but I am really wondering how I can justify 70ish pounds on a game that I play once a week in the current climate.

35 minutes of no gameplay and Erling Haaland and his pyjamas and that's it. Complete waste of time. These EA PR drivel events are so tiresome every year.

  34. Headquarters doesn't exist on Shipment. Not to my knowledge, and let me tell you I've played a lot of Shipment. Probably more than anyone else here I'm willing to bet. I'm clearly a nutcase. 😜

  35. Havent played grind but might add it to the filter based on comments above. I always seem to do really well at FFA if i'm trying, dont know why but the SBMM seems to be very kind to me in FFA. Me doing well means i'm playign the worst players in the world consistently Headquarters i really like, i guess its not everyones cup of tea due to the delayed respawn mechanic, but i always think its a good game - also worked out a way of abusing it for those pesky double-kill challenges. Not sure I've played HQ on shipment yet, but i could imagine that being a 15 minute 0-0 blast (had that on Rust once back in the day, was awesome)

Working from home on a Thursday allowed me a quick 40 minutes during lunch break. The time flew by and that's always a good sign. It runs well and I managed to extract without dying. Although I'm doing rookie settings for now until I'm used to the movement, shooting and medicating. Lovely little game.

  38. I really like Grind which is kind of kill confirmed + capture the flag I like Domination I like free for all I'll play hardpoint and TDM if I have to but it isn't a go to mode for me.

  39. I have both and I mainly play on the Xbox because I find that the MS network is by far superior to the PSN one in Ottawa. It was is was superior in California when I was there as well. I never had to complain about lag and network outages. Both boxes are side by side and use a hard wired internet connection with 500 Mbs so it's not my provider. I use to favor the PSN because it started with a free network and migrated to free for free to play games. So DMZ/Warzone is free to me on PSN but not on XBOX. Seems like I get what I pay for You friends list is also considerably better with Xbox. I believe it caps at 1000. The PSN one is now too small for the Warzone/DMZ crowd I play with

  40. Kill confirmed for me. Doesn't require much brainpower and isn't super stressful. It's basically TDM with an additional extra. Still defies belief how many people play this and don't pick up tags right in front of them for easy XP though. I used to enjoy domination but once again, players not playing the objective can ruin the match. Literally no point in going 25-5 if you're team is 30-170 points down.

  41. Kill Confirmed by a long way. It's been my go to mode since BO2. After that I quite like Grind and I don't mind Bounty either. Most modes are OK when playing with friends. Apart from TeDiuM which is just the shittest and most boring game mode going.
    1 point
  42. Domination and Kill Confirmed. I like some objective play, I feel if you play solo you can lockdown B flag or collect loads of tags like a madman. I like the pace of those gamemode. Depends on the map as well. I feel hardpoint can be a slog when up against a clan, same with headquarters. I also feel Dom lasts a good while.

  43. That's quite impressive @Luseth! I personally am not a big fan of Kill Confirmed however I do really enjoy Hardpoint and Bounty.
