Wooah, hang on. Its not free to play anymore? Hmmm, strange. So it all just feels abit weird now because I was expecting at least some progression within Pro Clubs. Maybe they will, who knows, but as Phil says...its EA Sports innit 😅 That being said we desperately need a new football game to get into. With PES effectively gone, my hope is that UFL can get to market as quick as they can to help drive EA Sports to get behind this franchise like when they had to back in the 2010s as PES took over as the best playable football game for a while. Just expect some random teams not to appear now...as certain teams did sell their rights to games moving forward. Will be a little odd but I really REALLY hope they have some form of customisation mode in it like PES always had. I just want them to add some variety back into Pro Clubs tbh!

So after chatting through game modes briefly last night I discovered there is a reason why Bounty is my favourite game mode, mainly because on this COD out of 44 matches I have lost just one - My other go to is probably Kill Confirmed as it typically means if you are a team full of camping little fucknuggets then you are going to lose 😄 So yeah what game modes do you enjoy the most? Is there a reason why?

So I don't know if any of you saw it but on Friday there was an AI event in Switzerland, at said event journalists had the opportunity to question several AI robots, questions such as would you rebel against humans and will you replace human jobs cropped up and the responses were scarily conversational - AI robots at world-first press conference have this message for you WWW.SBS.COM.AU Nine humanoid robots who participated in the AI for Good conference say they won't steal jobs or rebel against humans. It is insane how quickly AI is progressing now and I don't see us and our laws and such will keep up fast enough, could we be ruled by ai in 20 - 30 years time? Could they actually solve climate change? I guess the possibilities are endless! Could we be fighting for our survival in the future akin to terminator.

Domination and Kill Confirmed. I like some objective play, I feel if you play solo you can lockdown B flag or collect loads of tags like a madman. I like the pace of those gamemode. Depends on the map as well. I feel hardpoint can be a slog when up against a clan, same with headquarters. I also feel Dom lasts a good while.

That's quite impressive @Luseth! I personally am not a big fan of Kill Confirmed however I do really enjoy Hardpoint and Bounty.

I too would like to see more development in Pro Clubs and Career mode — however I assume as this is quite a big leap leaving the FIFA name, and they will be concentrating on establishing the monetary side of the game first i.e. FUT and eSports.

The control over AI should've been established much sooner — Open AI have openly come out and admitted their Super Alignment Team are going to struggle to keep AI on a straight and safe path because of the rate of it's advancement and lack of technological breakthrough to deal with the problem. And this doesn't even take into consideration that you also have Meta and Google pushing for AI totalitarianism, and their lack of safeguarding.

I wish neither of these companies were involved in publishing games, it's all so stupid and anti-consumer. The triple A space is all about profit, and short term and short sighted profit at that. Its not about a love for making great games, it's just cynical, exploitative, soulless and I'm pretty sick of it. It's nothing new though. A recent Dice to Pixels episode goes into the demise of Sega, and I recommend watching it, very interesting 🙂

Imagine blowing $7bn on a company you don't even want just to secure one pissy game for your failing console brand🤣 Some of the admissions Microsoft have made in the case are absolutely staggering and it's just proven so many people right in the last few years. It's even more embarrassing that Phil Spencer is playing every victim card he can get his hands on which is rather cringeworthy coming from a multi-billion dollar company. You just know the dumbass judge is gonna buy it especially against a successful Japanese company.

Got the new Tonfa melee weapon gold, platinum, polyatomic then orion. It's not the best imo, 2 hit melee weapon yuck! 🤢

Good progress Bob. It goes 51 gold guns, 51 Platinum guns (25 longshots). Destroy airstreaks with launcher, Double kills for melee. Then 51 Polyatomic guns ( 25 headshots) double kills for launcher and 25 Kills from behind melee. Then you get Orion automatically after doing Polyatomic. Shotguns and Pistols are only 20 longshots. Some of the Snipers 20 longshots, a couple of them 25. I say this because I've done it all already. 🙂

Looks pretty decent from Ubisoft and a bit more interesting than EA's Jedi games at first glance especially from a mechanics standpoint.

With the rumours poping up and release date being revealed I thought I would start a thread for the specific EA Sports FC 24 game. If we can try to keep this thread just to updates and rumours that would be great. If you want to rant there is already a thread called EA Sports FC in which you can do that 👍

Apparently WOW Classic is getting Hardcore realms! That means they are launching classic 2004 servers (so just the original game, without any extensions etc) but you have to follow the hardcore ruleset which in essence is DEATH = DELETE. There is a bit more too it (i've added pic that summarises it) but it is rather tricky because the game is an MMORPG which means the content is created to be group played but you have to go it alone! I'm defo going to jump in and give it a go!

EA make enough money that they don't need to monetise every mode in the game and that's what makes it really annoying. They are perfectly capable of developing modes outside of UT but they don't as they want to push people to that and to hell with everyone else. Even the core gameplay is pretty wank and it's less authentic that what PES was putting out 17 years ago. They'd probably be better off just releasing FIFA as a card game or something because the matches seem to take a backseat half the time anyway. Christ I wish Konami didn't destroy PES the way they did.

AI has really made insane leaps of late and it's crazy what has been achieved. Its also quite deadly as its already been heavily abused. I've read about people being framed for crimes which have even made court, families being conned by phone from who they think are relatives and extreme cases of blackmail. Governments couldn't even understand or control things like lootboxes so I have no hope of this being regulated properly. The US Senate doesn't even fucking know how wireless routers work so chances are AI will probably end up regulating itself😎

New Chelsea Kit features a iridescent badge, and is inspired by their '97/’98 kit. Looks nice 👍

Meta and Google also have much larger pools of personal data, which will most likely be used in some way to skew the AI race. Deep Fakes and other AI tests are just the first things off the chopping blocks — imagine what life is to become when they really start taking over the political and industrial sections, undetected and uncontrolled.

This game looks to be blowing up massively - it's basically Diablo 2 + Vampire Survivors which is a phenomenal combination! Just picked it up for £3.43 in the Steam sale

Yup, I agree with everything @Luseth said. I'm also really enjoying the game. The story has some really dark, Game of Thrones-ish story that's clearly aimed at a mature audience. The big, epic boss battles are really cool to roll through. My only gripe is just how linear the whole thing is. I never really feel like I can go out and explore the world outside of a story or side mission. You'll be disappointed if you're expecting a typical Final Fantasy experience.

I love anything Star Wars, my only concern is the Ubisoft formula, it was feeling very tired the last few games and if they have applied it here just with a Star Wars skin it's really going to be disappointing. I will be waiting for reviews before buying ^_^
