    FIFA 23 with FG!

"THE STREAK.....IS OVER" 73 - 1 It had to end at some point, unfortunately was due to some damn fine FIFA scripting, always hold my hand up if I'm beaten by the better man but damn shame it went this way, but genuinely proud that I managed to get this far, want to thank all of my FG family who took this journey with me, without you it wouldn't of been possible. ❤️💪

  6. A bit late for early impressions but makes sense to still put my 2p as I think quite a few still haven't picked this up. I've really enjoyed my first dibs into this game. I similarly enjoyed D3 and it really does play virtually like that. Graphics are quality. Story seems to be more engaging than the previous one too. I think the hardest part to get around is all the upgrades and all the skill trees as to what they mean as there is so many. What feels better on this one is the 'admin' you have to do seems a lot less as its easy to compare what drops you get to what you pick up. I like you can easily highlight junk and all I've been doing is junking most of it rather than selling it - this seems to give some transmog options but not got to that just yet. I also like the idea that map is the same for everyone rather than procedural generated. The map is so big so going off to explore and find little side quests and dungeons seem more inviting than D3. Grouping has been pretty cool so far and being able to get 5 of us together is abit crazy fun. I still find this game abit less intense than FPS games like Destiny, so even though battles can look really cool, its also really hard to see whats actually going on...and I then look down to see me just spamming a certain number of buttons because it feels like the right thing to do. I want to keep playing it for sure, but definitely alongside other games. I'm not too concerned on the time it takes to move through it, as I think i'd be more worried that I wouldn't go back to it much once I blitz through the official Act/Story missions. Worth the money though as I sit here right now.

  9. Very strong rumours this is happening Fresh Red Dead Redemption Rating Sparks Remaster Rumours - IGN WWW.IGN.COM A fresh Red Dead Redemption rating in South Korea has sparked rumours about a possible remake or remaster. If it's true then I just hope it's not being made by Grove Street Games😆

  10. So there have been rumblings the last few years that there will be a Final Fantasy IX remake. So in the last few days there has been a fan release of an FFIX remake demo just to show what the game could be like and I won't lie, it looks dreamy - In addition to this Jeff Grubb who has been known to have inside information of the gaming industry previously has stated the remake is real and in the works and to my delight will retain the turn based combat. Final Fantasy IX Remake Reportedly Set To Retain Traditional Turn-Based Combat - TwistedVoxel TWISTEDVOXEL.COM The often rumored Final Fantasy IX remake is reportedly set to retain the traditional turn-based combat from the original game. Speaking... I can tell you for a fact that if this turns out to be true I will be picking up any collectors edition as this to date is my number 1 game (closely followed by the witcher 3) So did anyone play the original, would you be looking forward to a true remake?

I wish I hadn't clicked this thread ... I'm hungry now. Recently moved out and am in the process of finding a new local Chinese — a difficult decision indeed.

  13. I saw that clip when it came out on Twitter as the voice actor for the main character is married to a Game Director at Bungie. It does look really cool, although I don't have much to add as I never played the other FF games outside of 7 and 8. I did play a little bit of a later one but they are just incomparable to these early games. Square Enix have done a top job of the 7 remake, that I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to look at another remake. However, it would be probably at least a decade away if not more considering how long its took just to get a remake of 7 done...and even that hasn't been the full game so far.

  14. Ok, early access dropped for this on June 1st, so many of us have been playing the shit out of it. curious to hear what everyone's thoughts are. Me? It looks great. I prefer this visual style to the more toon-ish look D3 had. It plays awfully similar too, so that's a plus. However, the constant enemy scaling to your current level always makes it feel like you're underpowered. Simply walking from one destination to another often feels like a slog due to the constant encounters you run into. I'm currently playing on tier 2, and there were a few times my A7F backup singing Necromancer nearly met his end to a group of shambling corpses or some bottom-end skeletons. I've seen similar complaints across multiple sites so I'm glad I'm not alone. Also, and maybe this has something to do with it, but after hitting Level 35, the difficulty seemed to spike. I'm not sure if it was just me, but most of the time spent running around felt more like endgame stuff rather then the main quest/story. I also think they buffed the enemies based on data from the previous betas as the game does seem a tad more difficult. The class nerfs probably helped that as well. My little skeletal army gets wasted pretty quickly now as opposed to the first closed beta. I'm almost positive there will be a "day 1" patch coming on Tuesday addressing some player issues and complaints. Diablo 3 was pretty awful when it first dropped and didn't really hit its stride until Reaper of Souls. Let's hear it FG. What are your thoughts?

    Lies of P

My biggest problem with the demo, was that I couldn't kill the Parade Master boss. Guessing a bug. Depleted his health bar three times and still wouldn't die. I really liked the atmosphere of the game, and if they iron out the issues, such as getting stuck, enemies that wont die etc, it will be a good game imo.

  18. I also finished the demo this morning and pre-ordered. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but I really enjoyed the free movement combat. The DMC similarities are apparent, but it also reminded me of the FF7 remake combat a tad too. Im looking forward to diving into this one Thursday.

  19. I enjoyed the last one, I still miss the turn based combat and is partly what made the series a bit special for me. That said it looks grand, it has that grand scale you would hope for, visually it looks fantastic and you can see there appears to be a limit on 3 you are running around with but I do wonder how they will deal with qty of characters, will we see the groups split up like in the first game so Cloud and co do Red XIII's arc and Yuffie and whoever goes off elsewhere. Meeting Vincent could be quite cool too. 2 discs, call me mad but seeing that gives me some excitement, it suggests a big game and FF games have always been that. I am not entirely sure how far this game will go as far as the story is concerned though so that in itself will be interesting, we have come a fair way already with just the first game and getting the pacing right to spread them through 4 games will be key.

  20. I absolutely loved FFIX it’s my favourite to play from the final fantasy games which I have played, VII, VIII, IX and XIII I would be interested in a remake but probably wouldn’t get it for the same reason I didn’t get FFVII remake in that I just don’t have good enough hardware to do it justice

  22. Had my first brief foray this afternoon, first impressions are positive. It has a decent pace to it, story has started off well and visually I think it looks great. could be entertaining with a few of us running round together! Do we have a clan set up?

  23. So being a big Final Fantasy game, the first thing that jumps out at me is that this looks more Devil May Cry (not surprising as I think the design lead actually started and had a successful career with devil may cry). It's fine if that is what you want. It looks brilliant visually and has some of the aspects you would expect, summons etc. Controlling other players, you have only ever been able to control one person but you could historically give commands to others in your team even as late as FFXV I think from memory. So to remove that seems odd but then it looks more fast paced than previous games so you likely won't have the time to spend giving out orders. I think this is going to divide fans, those who like the old school combat systems (this includes myself) and those who aren't bothered by it. I think with this series they have spent a lot of time trying to appeal the modern games to more Western mainstream audiences and the series has lost some of it's character for it. If you compare this, XV and XIII to XII and previous there has been a big shift in the style of the games and it seems too big a shift for fans of earlier titles. I will play this (and likely buy it second hand as sales direct to Sony will only encourage their current style of FF games), but it need's to have a great story I think for me to enjoy it, the combat won't carry it for me. It's mad because if you look at their highest ranked games of the past 10 years, the recent Final Fantasy games don't even make a dent and yet they continue to push this direction. Games like Triangle Strategy, Dragon Quest XI, Octopath traveller and Bravely default go down extremely well with the fans.
