  2. Recently purchased a 3d printer and here's my first item which I really like. Luckily, there are a lot of models of it, and I didn't have to create it myself. But this is the next step of this hobby for me Who knows, what are the best paints for it? I was thinking about spray paint, but not sure it would go with this plastic

I've been slacking. Both Episodes 37 and 38 are now LIVE! We discussed the diablo 4 closed and open betas from the past two weeks and the Unreal 5.2 tech demos shown this past week.

In 2008 I bought my first Xbox 360 second hand from CEX, although I think they had a different name then. With it, i picked up Cod 4, Fallout 3, Mass Effect and Bioshock and I still remember my excitement.

This was just before I ventured into COD MP (2009), and I loved Far Cry 2 and NFS Underground.

Not sure if I'd quite class this is retro yet but it certainly was of a very different generation where we were still using discs, pre-orders meant something and midnight launches existed and were huge! This was an insane year for gaming in terms of quantity and quality and I can't believe many of these games will be turning 15 throughout this year:- - Grand Theft Auto 4 - Metal Gear Solid 4 - Gears of War 2 - Fallout 3 - Burnout Paradise - Dead Space - Far Cry 2 - Fable 2 - Spore - FIFA 09 - Mario Kart Wii - Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 - God of War - Mirrors Edge - Crysis Warhead - Battlefield: Bad Company - Need For Speed: Undercover - Call of Duty: World at War - Left 4 Dead - Little Big Planet - Saints Row 2 - Silent Hill Homecoming - Tomb Raider Underworld - C&C Red Alert 3 - Devil May Cry 4 - Valkyria Chronicles - Persona 4 GTA IV's launch was absolutely massive from what I remember and MGS4 was a huge system seller 10 years from the original's release. Fallout 3 took the RPG into 3D and Gears of War 2 continued to build on the Xbox's important exclusive. FIFA was really turning a corner as PES was fumbling its generation transition and Burnout Paradise was great fun on all systems. I probably only picked up a quarter of the list but even that was a huge amount. The PSP and Nintendo DS were really popular although I didn't have neither but the Wii was also selling masses of units and offered something different in terms of audience and interactivity. Spore didn't really live up to its ambitions but was still decent and Mirrors Edge pushed visual and mechanical boundaries. WAW to finish the year off was also nice but many at the time felt the series played itself safe after IW made huge strides after their Modern Warfare gamble with COD 4. Gamers were also spoiled with many having plenty of games from 2007 on the back-burner or still being played such as Halo 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Portal, Crysis, Uncharted, Super Mario Galaxy and The Orange Box plus many more. I honestly don't know how I managed to squeeze so many in during this era!

I'm playing WOTLK Classic and loving it. The players are generally really nice, and as there's no "looking for dungeon" tool, reputation matters. I've only got one level 80 (max) character (Warrior tank) who's only recently hit 80 so I'm still gearing him up If you're looking for a nice chill game with more to do and explore than most games out there, it can't be beat.

  9. It honestly felt, gameplay wise, to be very similar to 3. I like the more โ€œrealisticโ€ approach theyโ€™ve taken with the visuals as oppose to the more WoW-like look of 3. My biggest complaint? Why did they change the inventory?? 3 had the perfect breakdown of everything being sectioned off into its own area. Now, itโ€™s all lumped together again and you run out of space halfway through a dungeon. It got to a point where I would only pick up yellow or orange gear and leave everything else. Iโ€™m also not a fan of the โ€œalways onlineโ€ shit. Why must everything be online? It really does suck especially with something that a lot of people will play by themselves for the most part. Day one is gonna be a Bitch. I also wish there was more classes to choose from. But, I guess they need DLC down the road. I did pre-order it though. I enjoy the games, and hopefully the few annoyances I have wonโ€™t deter that enjoyment.

  10. Figured I'd start this thread and just update it with pictures of some of my 3D printed projects as I work on them rather than start a new thread for every thing I print and do. Just started this project a bit over a week ago. I decided I wanted to do a medieval diorama for my theater room since the rest of the room's decor is all medieval themed. So decided to start printing a scene which will be a castle tower sitting on the edge of a rocky shoreline of the ocean with a dragon on top of the tower, then a giant kraken coming out of the water attacking the tower. Took about 130hrs to print just the tower pieces. Then did a lot of paint work and weathering to make it look aged, made some vines out of stained twine and ground up some reindeer moss to make the moss and growth on the towers crack. Added some wood railing and made a wood door. Have the dragon pieces running on both printers right now so hope to have that done and painted by the weekend so I can move onto finishing the base and making some realistic water using some clear silicone and paint mixed which other items which should be interesting.

  11. Some early gameplay shown off a few days ago as they try to gather more feedback for this new football game. They've had to recreate the game on a brand new engine so it has put the game back somewhat but its good they are prepared to share some gameplay this early and take feedback/constructive criticism to try and improve the game for launch. It does still feel a while off although there is a game there already with basic foundations. Gameplay is fast, probably a little too fast but i'd take it. Goalkeepers have taken a step back in my opinion since the last update we were able to see. Seems like a guaranteed goal as soon as you get in the box. Commentating i'm sure isn't nailed down....well, I hope it isn't as its a very underrated thing to miss out on and will let the game down if the don't do it right. Difficult to say when they get there but for a small budget against the likes of FIFA its a decent start I'd say. Better than eFootball for sure but then thats not hard to beat that is it? ๐Ÿ˜… Thoughts everyone?

I played just before the dragonflight update. Really enjoyed leveling a few characters, and just exploring the world. Think as others said, it does get a bit stale after some time if you're not running with friends. Also found as a very casual player, dungeons were quite intimidating when you're not with patient players, which could be alleviated if playing with friends. I'm not looking to get into it seriously any time soon, but would have been fun!

  14. Doesn't matter who Spurs appoint really - the archaic and out of touch owners need to sell up to make way for someone who can inject proper funding into the club to get with the times. In the past 5 years they've failed to sign players in two transfer windows and when funding has been available, it's been wasted on utter garbage. Some of these players will be very hard to get off books and incredibly expensive to pay off as it is, and then there's probably about 5-9 new faces required. Tottenham are really in a false position in the league and it's a damning reflection of how weak and inconsistent the Prem has been this year. Any other season in the past few and they would be struggling to get a top 7 finish. When I used to go to the lane back in the early to mid 2000's, I saw some god awful managers and players in that time and very little to build around but with players like Kane, Son and Romero, the foundation is being wasted. There's no depth either and I can't see how one manager can turn things around especially when they wouldn't be responsible for half the signings.

  20. I agree but that also means the hierarchy giving him time (years) to rebuild to have any chance at being successful for a number of years.

I'm just being optimistic. Nagelsmann is a young promising project manager, which is the exact things we need right now. Someone the fans can get invested in.

    The Mandalorian

That would make sense with what is going on, I feel like there is still a good story to be told like you say with Bo Katan and Din but Grogu being involved really feels like it is being forced. The recent episode looking at him as a foundling it just feel's a bit of a hash just to keep Grogu relevant.

  23. Haven't been 3D printing much the past month or so. Just been so busy with rod orders. Finally made some time last night to fire one of the printers back up and printed a Glock mag rack for my extra magazines. Came out really well and fits perfectly. Just have to pick up a spool of gray filament to reprint the final ones in gray rather than white.

  24. I'd say about 6 hrs total. A lot of that was just laying down the base coat of white, then base coat of the flesh tones. I did the base coats by brush which always takes longer, then the fading and detail work with airbrush which goes a lot faster.

  25. Been so busy with my custom rod business working 10hrs in the shop per day I haven't had much time to do anything else. So finally set a side a few hours for myself this afternoon and got around to painting "Dobby" from Harry Potter that I printed last month. He's about 19" tall. Should look right at home in the theater room.

  26. Thanks Lee. It's amazing the stuff you can do with them. And the prices have come down so much over the past few years. I have two of them now and both are the Ender 3 V2's which sells for about $250, then I upgraded the extruder/hot end with a direct drive Microswiss one which runs $100. So no more than $350 invested into each of them.

  27. Finally done with this one. Pretty much everything is 3d printed except the base I carved/sculpted out of foam then airbrushed and flocked it with sand and flocking. And the trunk of the tree is one of my bonsai trees that died over the winter so I just spread aquarium filter floss across the branches then flocked it the way model railroad guys do on their builds. Rest is all printed and airbrushed. Water I airbrushed the base then coated it in clear silicone, then added waves by pulling upwards on the silicone as it dried and painted the white tips. Also added flicking light inside the tower as well as a flickering micro LED chip on the end of the wizards torch. Probably over 200+ hrs into it from start to finish. Fit's right into the theater room theme really nicely. Was quite an enjoyable build, already kicking around ideas for what will be built on the 2nd of the side tables.
