  1. With this being a PS Plus freebie, I may have to replay this series over the Christmas holidays. It's a shame there's no MP in 3 anymore. That was really one of the best parts about it.

  2. One of the default classes has this. I think it's the sniper class with the signal 50. So I am not sure I agree since one of the best snipers comes with it out of the "box" Apparently if you get the XMR to level 28, you unlock it as well. So if you are willing to work for it, you don't have to pay. The XMR is a free battle pass gun. You have to unlock it however

  3. I think it might have to do with other achievements. Like a certain number of gold AR cammos for some other cammo or something. I for one have grown frustrated with trying to get it since I always do with randoms. Half the time they don't even have a mike and then other teams will be camping the extraction and steal the gun. I also believe that only the person carrying the gun gets it if they do extract. Which means if you are with randoms and carrying your team mates might let you get screwed over just so that they can pick up and extract. I am of the same mind set as you, I don't want it if I didn't earn it. There are plenty of better guns so I don't feel that I am missing on anything. The cammos I kind of do for fun but most of the time I don't even equip any of them so it's not that big a deal for me. I think Chris however is trying to get every gold cammo in the game and good for him if that's his goal and that motivates him to play the game I suspect the gun will be available in the battel pass come season 2. So if I get it before then great, if not I don't care. I'll just keep rocking the Icarus or the AKs (all 3 are awesome)

  4. Yep, possibly the most annoying levels in all of gaming 😁

  5. Andromeda had a lot of great elements but the overall package and execution, plus the way they dropped it, was a disgrace. I've got the ME reboot free on Origin and I've never bothered installing. But yeah maybe sitting on the sofa over crimbo may tempt me.

  7. Yeah it’s seen as very much the OG of colony survival games and that genre has become quite extensive in recent years and with some pretty big hits too. 10/10 from IGN

Anyone picking this up? It's getting great reviews online, certainly something different so may have to treat myself. Sent from my Samsung S9+ using Tapatalk

  9. The Iki Island expansion is really good as well. There's a little hook that Jin deals with for the most part of the game, but It's more Ghost of Tsushima goodness if you've been waiting for more. Seriously one of my top 5 favorite games of ALL TIME!!!!

  10. The turret levels.... Fuck. those. I agree with 2 being the better game. Shame they shit the bed with 3.

  11. Fair play to them, I've been checking tutorials, which means I'll probably be on it after my current Rimworld phase. Apparently Rimworld actually borrowed a lot of ideas from this game.

  12. I got mine in less than 3 minutes - just spawn, locate a vehicle, drive to the area immediately, mow down the chemist, grab the gun and then extract quickly. Bit of luck here and there required but it can be done in a few tries at worst and you don't even need to bother equipping a weapon either. Whether being able to give the gun to others was intentional by the developers or not, COD probably has the least integrity these days from players and the devs so if there is an easy way or backdoor, may as well take it as it wont make a blind bit of difference if it's achieved legit🤣 Gun is gonna be obsolete in no time anyway and it'll probably get shadow-nerfed as it is.

  13. This bundle has a rangefinder scope for the new sniper rifle. What makes it OP is it equates the bullet drop and range. Sounds like an unfair advantage if your willing to pay. 🤔

  14. I figure in another month people will all have it that wanted it. Might be a good time then. Or camp the closest extraction point to the chemist and have an airstrike or UAV streak with you. Do that until you steal it from someone. it's douchy but that's how I lost mine so I wouldn't feel quite as bad if I did it to someone else

  16. I don't really understand this, for me there's no sense of achievement in collecting a weapon I haven't earned. Each to their own but someone please explain 🙂

  18. Yeah I agree too, in my case I was trying to grind the Expedite 12 for the Cronen Mini Pro blue dot optic at lvl 11 so just had to keep playing it out. I think thats where I'm at at the moment. I don't really fancy grinding longshots for the platinum camo's on ARs so I might get some golds on SMGs next but I'm mostly going to play to unlock the attachments and interesting base camos.

I LOVE this game! I played the hell out of it when it was initially released, enjoyed the legends mode as well, and after completing Forbidden West, I think I'm gonna jump back into this and run through the Ike Island expansion.

  22. Did the Legend tutorial to try this. Did a survival and a story. Died alot in survival 😄 Reached rank 5, and it's a mode I think I will play more!

I really need to get this game, i've heard so many really positive things about it. How long roughly did it take to complete?

  25. We should set up an evening for that. I really enjoyed a few go's on it with Tom @LordBaguette . Very underrated multiplayer mode.
    1 point
  26. I don't know why they'd make it a standalone release either, unless they flesh it out way more than it is already. Granted though, its a fantastic co-op game mode and really enjoyable if you get time to play with mates on it.
    1 point
  27. Whats Rivals mate? Different to the co-op experience they added too?
    1 point
  28. I have finished it already (platted), I really enjoy the gameplay loop, and also pretty much mastered the online. I'd say if you don't love the main game I wouldn't bother with the DLC, but if you do love it its definitely worth it. They are adding new content to the online soon as well for free called Rivals.

The directors cut is so tempting. I haven't played the game at all but have heard so many good things about it that i really want to give it a try.

  30. PS5 Directors Cut coming out this month but it's quite pricey. Does contain a new island though. $10 extra for a PS4 upgrade to get the new content apparently too. Never did get round to getting this first time around but I may grab it this month.

  31. So, I've finally took a small amount of time to start this. Just completed the first mission. Man, this was such stellar writing (for the most part). You don't know what's going on. You don't know who to trust. You don't know what anything is. I haven't played Mass Effect in 6 years. I burned through 3 playthroughs in the summer of 2015. I will admit, playing Mass Effect 1 isn't something I look forward to. 2 and 3 is where it's at for me. However, this is a remaster. And, it's been so long that I don't remember all the fine details. Crazy to think how old this game is and how far BioWare has fallen. It's interesting to see where the politics are given today's current climate. Also, incredibly fun to listen to the story just start to unfold when you already know where this is all going. But, it also makes me remember some of the storylines that were never finished. This is by no means a perfect game. It's not a remake (although, if they really went the way of FFVII Remake, it would have been awesome to see). Even through the first mission, you can see where some of the dialogue trees don't make sense, but you sort of expect that when it comes to dialogue rich games. I do still wish they could have really taken what modders have done over the years and put it into the game. Like, FFS... I want my character to have more hairstyles and longer hair that resembles mine. I want better facial options instead of just a really tan white lady. Like, couldn't have they at least picked up some of their stuff from Andromeda and sort of put it here? Eh. I guess not. The controls feel clunky. But, that's how I always feel when starting a different solo game. It will take me a bit to really just be quick with everything. For now, with the initial set of weapons, I'm quick enough to get even sniper shots off and insta-kill enemies. So far for Mass Effect 1, not much of the gameplay has changed much. The menus are what I remember, and that's going to piss off a lot of players who aren't used to traditional RPGs. So much customization. But, I think it adds a certain depth to the gameplay. If I had like 2 weeks off, I would definitely burn through a full gameplay of ME1 - ME3. Just absorb the whole story again. Unfortunately, I am not of that age with that luxury. So, let's see if I can balance this along with other games once I really get into the meat of the story. I purposely shut off the game after the first mission because I know that once I really get going, next thing I know it's going to be 3am...

  32. This was always a cash grab/swan song for BioWare. But, i"m still gonna play it for the memories. Also, when I originally played it, there were some bugs that drove me a bit... ehh.. So, it would be nice to see a clean playthrough.
    1 point
  33. From the footage I've seen I tend to agree. Not very impressed at all. It appears to be a bit of a cash grab but I suppose it's decent enough for anyone who has never played.
    1 point
  34. FOV looks a bit nasty so I hope you can change that plus I don't like how ME1 has the Andromeda UI. Hopefully the gameplay will stand the test of time but the story will definitely hold up. They probably could've done more with these remasters especially with what's been achieved on PC with mods but I guess they don't detract too much from the originals at least. I can't see myself paying £55 for this - maybe if they were £14.99 individually then I'd grab the first two but even with a game drought right now, I wont be getting this.

  35. So, I didn't get chance to play this as it past me by when I was younger. Owl always raved about it and I ended up buying one of the later series just for the MP. I probably should shift more time to play SP games cos of the story in this one. I'm worried about how much the controls and gameplay are outdated though so would be good to know if they've revamped them in any way for this edition.

  36. Andromeda is so shallow compared to the trilogy. You can tell there was so much potential and that so much was stripped away to make deadlines. You can see that there were thoughts on how to really expand bases on planets.. and have more planets. The Quarians were left open for another installment. I wanted to love it. But, it just wasn't there. When you read about the development of Andromeda and Anthem, you can tell that it probably came from the same idea, then split into two games. So sad. Finish Andromeda just to put the story to bed, but know that it is nowhere as complex or deep as the original series. The amount of emotional awe I got in ME2, especially when I came upon Garrus... I don't think BioWare has ever topped that. Even when I played ME3, I found myself racing to find him again. "There's no Shepard without Vakarian." Even if you didn't play that route.. and went Shepard with Tali or Liara... it was all still "I need to find my companion." And, Garrus was still always there to be your best bud lol. So, yeah. I definitely am looking forward to doing a fifth playthrough on the trilogy.

  37. Mass Effect was the first game I bought when buying my Xbox 360, that and Oblivion. Fantastic game and ME2 was more of the same but better. ME3 was the best looking of the bunch and the only one I played on PC. I also get Andromeda out from time to time but still not finished it😁

  38. Lol. I didn't even watch the video.. But, have you played the trilogy? I played it after I finished all the Dragon Age stuff. When I played the first Mass Effect, I immediately thought, "Ohhhhh.. Sooo this is where you sent your A-team for graphics." Because seriously. Mass Effect 1 compared to Dragon Age Origins in terms of graphics... night and day. Like, I seriously had to get past the ugliness of Dragon Age to start enjoying it. Thank goodness the story was enthralling.

  39. Couldn't watch the video @J4MES OX4D as the geezer spends the first few minutes grovelling and saying how lucky he is😅 @RenFengge I'll be very interested in your thoughts once you get hands on with it! If it's decent I'll pick it up later in the year.

Super curious about the coop portion of the game. Super wary of it at the same time. Anyway. Just found out that the frequency of storms correlates to how often you kill by stealth. Which, kind of sucks since I enjoy stealth as an option. It makes every place to liberate like a puzzle... instead of just running in and egging them on and slashing them. Really really trying to get a handle on switching from throwing knives to throwing sticky bombs. Just doesn't click in my brain. Also, I didn't expect just a noticeable jump when I started playing on the PS5 since 1) proper upgrade means newer TV, and 2) still waiting on the adapter since there's no optical and I can't use the soundbar now. But, DAAAMMNNN.. it was instantly noticeable. And I notice typically nothing in my life lol. I'm currently trying to go through Act II by playing "honorably" instead of stealthy. I would really like to not use my flute every 5 minutes to adjust the weather. Also, semi-curious if Uncle starts to approve?

  43. Omg, finally got round to having a quick bash on this for the first time and i've never known a game to have aestically pleasing controls with a hack/slash type game. It impresses me so much that it helps you not become a button mashing machine but at the same time creates different moves in game when you might've spammed a button either way. For a game like this to put graphics, movement, controls all in a kind of open-ish world is incredible and puts the likes of Cyberpunk creators CD Projekt Red to shame. It feels like a Game of the Year type of game you'll always remember when you played it. Also, Tom @LordBaguette and myself had a dabble in the FREE multiplayer mode for a few levels and its bloody fantastic. I can't wait to try the survival 4-player mode at some point to eventually unlock the Raids they have! We should definitely find a moment where we can potentially partner up in a few levels with each other to see how far we could get @Dan94 @phil bottle @LordBaguette @RenFengge @Riff Machine and anyone else who has the game for that matter!
