  1. Well I know I played the worse mission because I played the all. All the missions names with rewards are available. Which one was the worse mission? There are number of them. "Ghost team" with the boss battles and you allies crouching in the corner jerking off for me was the worse. I don't know how you can do that on veteran level as it is such a cheat by the AI "alone" was probably next. Too long, too pointless. For fucks sakes Ghost if you know where I am how about coming over and helping a brother out man. Another ally crouching in a corner jerking off. Almost felt like trying to win an objective based game with randoms

  2. Our Friends Adrian bought one and has let us borrow it until next week. Mostly to help Sarah get over her cold quicker. I really dig this machine. It's comfortable in the hands, all the buttons/analog sticks are easy to access and don't feel out of place. I really like the dual touch pads. It gives that mouse kind of quickness and control with something portable. I think I may have to buy one for us.

    Dual Sense Edge

Reading about this on other discussion boards, quite a few people said they were already using ExtremeRate back buttons. So I thought I’d give them a go and so far so good. If you want to be able use L3/R3 or the touchpad button on the back buttons you need to do some soldering. Otherwise it’s basically disassemble the controller, replace a couple of ribbon cables and put it back together with their back on. I went for the 2 button version as only really care about jump and duck being. I fitted it yesterday in about 40 mins and only tested everything works but so far so good.

  6. What also shocked me is it takes literally 12 missions before you actually have a level where you can run and gun without having some on-rails gimmicky event dominating the mission. Even then, the next mission after that is a stealth+crafting one which was utterly painful. Also got sick and tired with the amount of enemies that wear body armour in the very few missions where you're actually shooting - the developers literally have a hard-on for Warzone fodder nonsense in this game. The tank boss battle was also hilariously bad - you wouldn't see this amateur garbage design even in Call of Duty 3. The oil rig mission that I was really looking forward to turned out to be nothing more than musical chairs with cargo containers too! Every time I get to a new mission and think this looks interesting it turns out to be nothing more than rage-inducing trash with some tacked on garbage mechanic or infuriating combat encounters with bullet-sponge enemies. The checkpoint system is also a joke - on some missions it saves literally every 15 seconds even if you're just about to be shot and on the worst missions you can be set back many minutes of torture.

I need to invest more time into putting up some garden threads. This is great, thanks for sharing @Luseth . My mum has a love for gardening and I do too enjoy seeing lovely gardens, just never knew where to start. I'm probably more into growing nice flowers than vegetables, etc, but you are tempting me to restructure the garden so we have a small patch for growing some things. I think it would help the kids too learn new things. Where do you get your flower seeds from?

  8. Are we really saying its worse than the press F to pay respects mission? Shame some aren't finding it great. Its obviously going to be somewhat cheesy as they are re-introducing all the better characters in the past. It does look great from the small clips i've seen, really well done on the graphics side.

    DayZ - 1.19

Finally got back on. Enjoyed running in for the most part....and then somehow I got an infection. FUCK! Tried my best to keep running so far through the woods to get up to Carl @TurboR56Mini as he had some tetro...dffdkcjvbugvchjbsdsddsk pills or whatever you call them, but La @RenFengge advised me that if you have it too long Stage 2 kicks in and then i'm on the slow path to no way back. However, I thought I lucked out as I was going to Gorka and stumbled upon a Hospital! What are the chances, eh? But then what are the chances of the Hospital having any tetro...,sdfhdfuhdciudhcbcy pills? Charcoal tablets galore, surgical gloves and a way to get my blood out if i wanted....but no tetro....you get the jist. I opened the door and Zimbies were right outside, so trying to battle through so I could start my pessimistic run to Carl, I got battered and knocked out. Waking up in a daze, with pretty much no health, I thought I would try one last attempt to get healthy...by removing a bag of my own blood, combining with an IV kit, and then giving myself a transfusion back into myself. Yes, I am that stupid, but hoped it would glitch out my stupid infection. Alas, it did not. I was dead. 2nd life rolling, I got a great spawn up on the East Coast so felt good thinking I could meet Carl soon. I thought I would go to the first town to get supplies before heading off. Berezino didn't have much and I just needed abit more food before Zombies approached my area. Next thing I knew my pipe wasn't hitting them hard enough and after playing the Crystal Maze with 4 Zombies over fences and around Greenhouses, they cut me. Problem was my bandage was all used up, no type of knife to cut some rags, so.....I was dead. I really have a problem playing this game. 😅 Will see what the next day brings. Hopefully some extra life and no ruined Apples and Pears.....

  10. Fair play @Greboth, I just don't think I could spend time doing that...and knowing full well I'd screw it up too 😅 If there are replacement parts for the most common areas that gto wrong, then this controller might not be all bad. The £20 replacement sticks make it sound like it may be something that we could work with.

  12. I just did the convoy mission and it's probably the worst mission I have ever played in the franchise. Far too drawn-out, repetitive and boring plus the whole thing is practically on-rails. The premise is ridiculous too - agent gets captured by most the most feared terrorists and you and your team of 4 manage to capture her back the very next day battling 40 vehicles, helicopters, mines, drones and a tank literally. The upside-down section was also laughable and served no enjoyment. Despite the visuals impressing, the gameplay is almost rooted into 2007 and feels even more conceptually archaic but this time with the most horrendous level design and writing imaginable. I've heard there's a worse missions after this too which really doesn't bode well. I was gonna play a few missions tonight but this one has ruined me mentally.

Wow you got lots of veg there, I’m to old for an allotment, I have enuff with garden, can I ask? What’s the purple spike looking plant called, it’s very nice. Like ive said, I just plant and pray, mostly they do seem to grow, but I couldn’t say what each flower is called lol. I have taken some seed pods from some plants for next year, not really done much from seed, just normally buy from shops or garden centre.

Yeah it's really quite peaceful, when the weathers nice there is a lovely view from our lot as it's up on a hill. We also had strawberries, tomatos, pumpkins this year and I still have leaks growing. Generally we keep the allotment for bulk growing stuff though as it's a 15 minute drive and fuels not exactly cheap so keeping it to a trip a week is ideal and next year we are going to put more veg beds in at home and try parsnips, carrots and the such.

Im afraid i dont have too many phoros, i will upload the couple i have but its before things are really growing. I do have a few photos of the produce we got back this year so will put them up as well. As for carrots they are actually quite difficult to get to germinate, its not something i have tried but you have to keep them wet for around 20 odd days i think. Soil is often key but yeah im happy to offer some advice 🙂 on the veg side most of my knowledge i have learnt from older allotmenteers at the site. The garden at home where its mostly flowers and such i have learnt just by having a go, I lean towards dahlias as my go to flower and i have a couple of photos of some of my favourites from this year so will get some up tomorrow too 🙂

    Dual Sense Edge

The price feels insane. Probably because its a controller and we're still used to that type of money giving us more bang for our buck. I think I just sense they charge it because they can. The gaming market is evolving, gamers want more, so they develop more. And if SCUF and the Elite controller are already above the 150 mark, selling this for 210 won't bother them in the slightest. And as Chad says, people will still spend that money on them cos they can. I think the main challenge will be how sturdy and long will it last - reports of many Elite controllers having to be sent back within 6 months tells me this type of tech isn't as strong as we'd like it to be. Would love to own but game wise, not sure there is much pushing me towards it just yet....maybe if we end up rolling on CoD MW2 and OW2 hard then I'll consider it.

    Steam Deck Announced

So this will be my last post for a little while as I think now it's time to get to grips with the system and really enjoy it but to provide another update. Last night I had another play, I now have GTA V up and running, so that means Epic games work and though GTA is getting on a bit now it is still a fairly demanding game and the deck runs it fairly flawlessly (I did turn down settings to medium just to max out the performance and it was lovely). In addition to that, I may have mentioned that I like the idea of taking some of my retro games with me. Lugging round a CRT and SNES or Gamecube is obviously not practical so I looked at setting up the emulation side of things. I at first tried to install a couple of emulators separately, the PS2 one ran ok but the dolphin emulator wouldn't detect the steam deck controller and buttons. Looking about online I came across emu deck, turns out it's a script you can download and run and it installs and sets up all of the main emulators for you including dolphin. So gave it a go and it was incredibly simple, got it up and running and just loaded up fire emblem path of radiance (something on my to buy list but depends on how much my work christmas bonus is this year) and it seemed to start up really well and looked fantastic. I will give it a proper go later on today but the deck is really impressing my with it's capability at the moment.

  26. Today is the big day for the first batch of Steam Deck customers. Emails are being sent out at 10am PST and then each person has 72 hours to pay in full. Unclaimed reservations go to the next person in line. I hear it may be a slow roll out and peripherals such as the Dock won't be on sale until the summer. Also, while they're still working their way through the library to verify games, apparently it's only multiplayer games that have issues with anti-cheat that have any problems. No idea when I'll get mine, happy to wait but must admit that I'm very excited and already have a list of games I want to play on it. Here's a sample: Disco Elysium Katana Zero Dishonored 2 Hotline Miami 1 & 2 Prey Rimworld To be honest I won't know where to start. I used to play DayZ mod and Civilisation in bed on my laptop 10 years ago, which I loved lol and the return to horizontal gaming will be interesting 😁

  31. I tried Steam Deck early and it's AWESOME! this is ltt's first hand's on experience it seems great and you can connect to it a monitor/kb/m and close to 60 fps on doom eternal medium and it's not completely done yet
    1 point
  32. Sure so long as it doesn't impact on the rest of the production. Otherwise games might start being produced to a lesser standard to be compatible with the Steam Deck.
    1 point
  33. This does look interesting, even though it only outputs at 720p. With this being the case though, what about text on screen? wouldn't that be a little small? I imagine if you play certain games, action adventures or FPS, this should be great. I already see mention of Civ on this, but do you think it would work? I have Civ on the VITA and that's a watered down game compared to the full game, I can imagine the resolution and screen size alone wouldn't be ideal for them types of games unless they are designed with handheld in mind. Then there's grand strategy games like HOI or RTS games like Company of Heroes, them I can see as not being ideal for something like this. So it'll highly depend on the games you play. The concept is awesome though, price tag not so much. Although if you can load other apps on the device, having GOG Galaxy installed for some of the older titles would be super cool to have on the go.

  34. my main concern is that it runs a linux distro and even with all the advancements they have made in the gaming scene on the linux side still many games are unplayable or have subpar performance and also you have many programs that don't exist there and i am not talking about office/adobe ones that are unrelated to gaming but modding tools for example are non-existent there and some games almost require them
    1 point
  35. Good point - and they'd be more the types of games I'd play on a hand held. Stop tempting me Phil!! 😄

  36. I saw a tweet that stated you could save battery life if you cap frame rate in your settings, although seems pointless if you can't have it above 30 as everything last gen is minimum 30 and should really be 60 at minimum!
    1 point
  37. Is this that intrigues me like we spoke last night. Although looking at the cost currently, I do think its a little on the steep side. I totally get this and I think it makes sense depending on what games you like to play 'on the road'. When it comes to indie games which are the main games i'd probably play on hols, I don't have much care for them so I usually end up buying those games on PC where they are really cheap (or free) and keep my switch for unique games that are available. If they could bring the cost of the largest memory down to as close they can get it to 300 they might have a chance but considering next gen costs around 400-500 it needs to be more competitive to push people to buy this instead.

  40. well there will certainly be a visual downgrade but if your next option is to give at least double that then it's more enticing, but we will have to wait and see until it comes out how it truly performs, i really hope it becomes a viable cheaper alternative to giving 1000-2000 for a full tower pc
