Hopped on last night for about an hour with @TurboR56Mini because I wanted to see what you guys did yesterday! 😐 Thanks for unlocking the game to throw trolls and swamp people at me at home base! 😐 Literally got up and went AFK for like 4 minutes, and @TurboR56Mini starts yelling at me to come back because I'm being hit by a troll in my vegetable garden! THEN, I get attacked by swamp people and skeletons. I thought home was a safe place. 😭 All in all, I love the progress you guys made! So cool!

Sounds like a great idea and a super idea to ask everyone before we look into what to do next. I think as more and more of us are getting on, I really want to make sure they can feel like they can contribute and create stuff themselves, all for the community cause. I think this is a SUPER idea and we should get it up as an event! The game isn't going anywhere so we shouldn't be in any rush to do stuff. This is why I'm comfortable just creating more places, reinforcing more current builds because it adds to the fun of it all. I'd rather create something near the swamp to smelt the Iron to make stuff than hop via my own personal world to speed stuff up. Sometimes it makes sense but I enjoy the idea of even saying to each other 'how should we do this?'....and now we can build LONGBOATS...I think we should explore the seas over the coming weeks and watch us get obliterated together by some sea serpent. Sounds deligtful and hilarious even when I type it! 😄🤣

Well shit, the swamp will wreck you, I would say at least 2 people minimum to explore, 3 is better. I know @GazzaGarrattand @tronic44 (saw a few of Tron's graves kicking around!!) explored at least 2 sunken crypts, @RenFengge and I started a third. I extended the walkway to "land" in the swamp and started a tree house, since ya know, tree house. I've also upgraded our forge at the Vault to level 7! We now have a stone cutter there too. Feel free to demo it then rebuild it for the crafting items. Since we beat the second boss or triggered it some other way, there are now raids that attack our bases. @RenFengge and I were at the home base and we attacked by swamp things in one encounter and a troll in another. This new mechanic for the server is....fun? There does not seem to be a safe place anymore so time to enhance our defenses and rethink our layouts at major bases like Vault and Home. We can build with stone now so maybe we do some demo on the OG structure at home and start building the FG Castle??? More than happy to start but I know many of you put some time on day 1 into that base. I don't want to start reconstructing it until we agree to make it a stone castle!!! Maybe we do a build event this week instead of a boss. I'm pretty sure there is no way in hell we will defeat the swamp boss this week. I'm not sure I want to, TBH, I'd rather have the group put some thought into building out the FG Home base and establishing a nice compound for new folks that may join. Thoughts? OOO we can have a long boat too as I saw it in my crafting menu 🙂

  5. This. A million times this. I have seen and watched so many people just play grindy ass games, for what? Look, I've said it before, I play Destiny 2 not because I particularly enjoy it, but because I actually enjoy the people I game with. But please don't think that I think Destiny is anything to be amazed about. It's lazy in the mechanics, the grind, and the various difficulty levels. That said, I am amused on the shit given to Anthem because of the million things wrong with it.. because I see and hear those million things and go "Destiny was originally just as shitty" and all them other loot shooters are just as tedious and terrible as this. But, we want to only shit on Anthem? Come on. I am very much guilty of pre-ordering Anthem and Andromeda... Because I wanted to support my favorite studio in their new direction and hope that EA didn't eat their soul. But, BioWare is dead. Casey gave up, AGAIN. There's nothing to salvage. I also get it. The video game development cycle is expensive. It rivals the budget of likes of Marvel movies and James Cameron movies. And, studios want a return on their money. But, for the love that is all good, just give us games that don't suck and throw microtransactions on them. I will continuously buy things for games I enjoy. But, you will never see me drop $5 on some bullshit outfit or color scheme. Or to unlock a character in a very poorly written story. I want good games. I want games that make me think. That have a story worthwhile. That have characters who I love or love to hate. I want publishers like EA to do more than just throw money and dictate boxes that the studios need to follow, then watch them fail. It's like asking a fish to climb a tree. Look at what Square has done with their failures and risen above them. They have this fantastic Final Fantasy online world that was originally trash, but it is now rich and full after the overhaul. Again, while I am thrilled to have found this gaming community that I thoroughly enjoy, that does not erase the fact that this is a very dark time in the gaming world with trash games everywhere.

  6. To be fair, They were reporting on an interview done by IGN. I have zero faith in anything EA says in this piece though. I thought it was interesting that of all times NOW they'd say "Oh, you game developers have nothing to worry about from us. You do your thing and we'll leave you be." The fact that Dragon Age 4 was suppose to be a live service game blows my mind. Have they not seen the previous interations??? I do agree with Ren about ME legendary edition being a greatest hits for them. After the joke that was Anthem, I'm surprised they're still afloat.

  8. Really, REALLY late to the party with this one. I hadn’t planned on buying this, but a nice sale can change ones mind quite fast. If you’ve played any of the other games in this series, it’s more of the same. Controls are more reminiscent of DMC4 then the other 3. It’s the same action, gunplay the series is known for. I’ve been enjoying it and cursing at it as well. Some parts are frustrating as all hell, but that’s the games style. The new character, V is pretty fun to play as. Rather then attack himself, he utilizes demons to attack instead. These are both controlled the same as Dante and Neros gun and swords. It works well. Really easy to SSS rank combos with him. Again, if you like the series, you’ll dig this.

  11. The key's to success: 1. Find foods you enjoy and can rotate around that work towards your goal. Lean proteins, fruits and veggies, carbs and fats. 2. Find a way you LIKE to train. There is no right or wrong way. Movement is movement. Do that a lot. 3. Measure your steps, the easiest way to burn excess calories is with steps as everyone can go for a walk. Want to burn some more calories and shed some fat, increase your steps by 1000 a day for a week and watch what it does. Easy.

  14. The chaos magic will be explored fully in Dr Strange 2 I have no doubt. Potentially her training her how to control it I think its literally just the name 'Mephisto' that is the issue. Mephistopheles is one of the names for the devil and is where the comic name comes from. I just think there wont be any character called Mephisto. They will just go with Nightmare It will either be Ultron or a version of Ultron. Or they will just go with White Vision who is like just a cold calculated version of Vision himself. Theoretically the code is in him for Ultron still though so it would make sense in the MCU. He is a big villain in the comics it would be cool to see him back and done a bit more justice. Yep Wandavision is basically the stepping off point for Dr Strange and all the multiverse stuff, Spiderverse, Xmen and who knows what else. I think yes 2 post credits, one for the villain of Dr Strange 2 potentially appearing to Agatha or talking to her. I think the other will be for Loki. I was thinking they may just throw an unrelated one in there for Falcon but considering its so close I don't know why they would do that

  15. If D2 is in good game development, it's because it's a cash cow. It because they were given what they needed to fix their initial Destiny and become what it is today. But, being successful in that sense is because a cheetah was asked to run and not do something it couldn't naturally do. I think a lot of fun in multiplayer games happens in spite of bad game development. For example, when @TurboR56Mini and I played No Man's Sky with a few people, just getting an update or a patch was intriguing because of various things breaking or completely changing. Every patch and update was like getting a new game. It was always a question of "What's broken today? What's fixed now that we couldn't previously do because it was broken?" I'll cite Square Enix on actual good game development, but the culture there is vastly different. We only recently talk about that "crunch" time in gaming studios, but that's like embedded in anime production and game production for them. However, they don't necessarily abandon games because they give up either. Again, FFXIV was a redo, and congrats on them for making good on that. Admitting they were wrong in a puff piece was an orchestrated move pushed by their PR, most likely. I've been on the side of companies with their C-suite needing to do this BS. I've seen the arguments that PR and Marketing make to the C-suite to do these things. They put it out there to pacify the game audience. That's it. They expect people to forget in a week. If they follow through, I will be pleasantly surprised. If they don't, it's what was expected. Them giving the studios they bought "more freedom" is vastly different than what they are used to. It's not what their Board is used to. It's not what their major investors are used to. Unless their Board is on the same page, it won't happen. And, Boards only care about profit. "More freedom" to studios is not an overnight thing. It's not even a "couple of months" thing. It's a culture change that will take time and the willingness to fight for it. I love games, and the industry as a whole makes me sad. Sony is my bright spot in how they manage their studios. Look at Bend Studios and Guerrilla Games. Look at how they are being grown and guided vs what EA has done to studios they bought. Sony does it right. And, I look forward to anything they do for the gaming world. They aren't perfect, but they have always tried to be for the gamers.

Yeah, about that....its incredibly insane!! I was determined on my day off to go and have some exploring time as I wanted to feel like I was able to attempt something that was challenging. This was to go to the swamp and survive enough to bring back some loot to create better things to then go back and get the prestigious Iron we needed for next steps. @tronic44, Pablo (rich's friend) and me went to the swamp after i pushed so far and got loads of items but ran out of luck. We attempted time after time to get our stuff back, and continually died getting caught out by leeches in the water. About 5 boats later, we eventually got our stuff and went in a little deeper. I must say the jump after the second boss to the third is quite substantial. The subconscious way through someone thought about this change in the game and allows you to subtlety change and adapt to potions whilst using the latest things you could make, like the tankard are very satisying. After a few runs to a few crypts in between breaks, @tronic44 beat an extended pathway to the swamps whilst Ihad a brief look at the Mountains on our spawn island, as we can now make Frost resistant potions. Be well aware, Wolves HURT ALOT. I died many times killing a few but going back to see what was in there. At night something amazing is in there called a Fenring. Apparently only appears at night and howls to call other wolves to come close when you take it on. Lots of health, i got within 5% of killing it to then die and wasn't able to get back in time before sunrise. Apparently some pretty Wolf leg armour can be made with the stuff he drops, alongside some rare drops Wolves give you (Fangs, Pelts, etc). Anyway, before I got off for FIFA Monday Night Football, I added a few bits which I believe Carl completed later on to our Forge, thanks buddy. You'll now find the dining/storage hall at the Vault to be a cool place to hang out with the Comfort level now at 12. Here's a view from either side. Go and sit in the Raven Throne when you get chance 😄

  17. And on balance (which is effing weird cos i'm saying this in a thread I have little love for EA 😄 )but you would say that the fun has happened because sometimes game development IS good? I don't like watching the news because its far more bias to negative news because it generates more interest. I'd love to see what makes us tick in a positive sense. Not many people decide to pick up on the positive parts of really anything created these days but I'm just trying to step back a little and see if there is any positive stuff in this? Maybe just admitting the fact they were wrong to dictate so much to game developers and the next few games they'll be trying to allow them some freedom....IS a good thing? Albeit very minor because we have little faith that they'll truly follow their own words? 😄 Just a random 2p that popped in my mind.

  19. This is so where I get stuck in. My wife thinks I do not need to lose weight at all in anyway as its more about if I feel I want to feel better in my body its about toning, rather than losing weight although I feel the difference. Difficulty alongside fitness is how to change your food without losing the fun bits in life such as having a nice takeaway family meal together. I don't want those things to stop so it makes you feel like the easiset way around that is to just not eat as much in the week. However, I get so exhausted - do you try the same? Want it now is absoultely bang on the money for EVERYTHING in the world right now. It tires me out seeing people tired and impatient for things. I get it, Covid exacerbates the issue as we don't want to feel like we're wasting our lives away but above all you can still be a realist through the can do positive attitudes to get up and get shit done. Right now, i'd like more time in life to enjoy all these fun things we do at a slower pace. Enjoy every moment kind of thing.

yeah i don't know how we will manage to beat the third since it has arrow resistance so we will have to go up close and personal with blunt weapons, we need to grind so everyone can be on a similar equipment with a ton of potions etc cause the elder kicked our asses even us who were kinda maxed out, i will try to solo the second boss on my own world but if i can't i will maybe nuke the whole thing and bring everything to the fg server

  21. An option would be great. I mean, you can already zoom in and out very quickly using the mouse wheel and it goes into first person when you put yourself in a tight spot. On the main though with survival games, it works really well in 3rd person. First Person is for more intense games imo, and why I enjoy Destiny far more than the Division, which is probably still the best 3rd person game i've played.

So I have gone and bought myself a gaming laptop. After a fair while looking at specs and education myself a bit about what's out there I have decided upon the following HW to get me into the world of PC gaming. Acer Nitro 5 with the 17.3" monitor and running Intel core i7. Graphics card is the GTX1660. 16Gb Ram and 256SSD. I am hoping this should keep me going for a fair while now to be fair! I look forward to getting involved with a few other faces and embarking on my PC expansive world discovery!

A bit late to the party but thats awesome news George @G_dub52 ! I think some people always feel hesiatnt on gaming laptops but I think they can definitely suit people's needs and a great starter for getting into PC gaming with all of us too. Valheim I can see you've already had the taste of it, and you'll find my choices are all around survival, less twitch FPS games. Valheim, 7 Days, Green Hell, even Minecraft to an extent because these give you chances to dip in and play with others on your PC and also be chilled enough to pop back and forth on it due to the servers we have running right now. Hopefully you can see how a PC can work alongside the console games because they won't ever go away with the large majority of us finding very good party games to come back to on there.

  25. I legit cannot help but be annoyed by this. Like... my knee-jerk reaction is "Go burn in hell." Because it rarely has ever been, and it's always been about the $$$ which is why they broke BioWare by demanding them to create GaaS instead of the games that they are actually great at making. This whole interview is a bunch of gaslighting BS. It's EA trying to appease their audience after the news of Casey giving up and Anthem 2.0 no longer happening. It's like an abusive ex saying, "I always loved you, and I promise to not hit you anymore and let you have some more freedom instead of locking you in the house. But, do remember who gave you this mansion to live in and all your food and clothes." So... go burn in hell? I love Dragon Age and Mass Effect. I want DA4 to be amazing. But, I also think that maybe Mass Effect Legendary should be their swan song/greatest hits as they fade away and make room for other studios. I say this as I grew up watching Squaresoft evolve, merge, do whatever, and become Square Enix. As a huge fan of Squaresoft and never thinking we could have the great games that were FFIX and the predecessors, because I loved Chrono Trigger too... and I know the team responsible for those games have moved on. I enjoyed FFVII Remake and will play it all as it is released. But, the heart wrenching stories, especially that of FFVI and Kafka, I haven't seen Square pull anything off like that since FFIX. Anyway, the interview is them covering their ass and is a puff piece. (So say me, an Exec Assistant to numerous powerful people in NYC who has had to work with marketing departments to "create goodwill" with puff pieces)

Hey @Tar-Eruntalion There is a process to fix that, we had downloaded the wrong files. Also, @RenFengge is working a more complete guide for server access, but this will get you fixed and back up and running. Go to "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim" Rename the Valheim folder to "Valheim_old" Open the Steam desktop app and right click on Valheim on the Library tab Click "Properties" Click "Local Files" Click "Verify integrity of game files..."This should redownload the files that we mistakenly altered by using the "plus" mod. This will recreate the "Valheim" folder in the first step. Click this link https://bit.ly/3brRyEj and download the .dll file Navigate to "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim\valheim_Data\Managed" Drag and drop this file into that directory Click the replace file option when prompted, then you're all set. The server will work again. Let me know if this does not work and we can get on and help get you up an running. - Carl

  28. The FF7 Remake is a shock inclusion and what makes it better is the PS5 version releasing in June is a free upgrade for existing owners so I'm gonna grab one month and get the game that way and then just play through the new version in the summer. Brilliant stuff! *Edit apparently it says in the blog you cannot upgrade if you get the PSN version even though any other digital or disc copy can upgrade - this contradicts the state of play trailer big time. Damn, knew it would be too good to be true! I'll try and pick up a disc version on the cheap and upgrade that way then.

  30. EPISODE 8 SPOILERS BELOW - Again there is a mid credits scene if you missed it So a big flashback episode. As 'exposition' episodes go I thought it was very well done. I think the small retcon of her backstory fit perfectly in the MCU. I am glad they are keeping it much more about Wanda instead of bringing all these outside big heros / villains and filling it with loads of action (although we will definitely get loads next week). They are keeping it a Wanda focussed story about her grief which I think really helps the storytelling, and really makes you care more for the characters. Her acting in this episode is her best so far. I can see why it would annoy people that the story hasn't really moved forward for 2 episodes much, but we did need this to really bring it full circle and give a huge amount of context to what is going on. Also I think Katherine Hahn is amazing, I can see her becoming a fan favourite and sticking around the MCU for a while, much like Loki. She is 47 years old by the way, how is that possible? The first scene showing her surrounded by the other witches was cool, and I don't think they would have shown it if it doesnt play into the story somewhat either in the next episode or a future film. I think it also shows er magic is purple so would assume she uses it from the dark dimension, similar to Kaecilius in Dr Strange and Dormammus energy blasts. This would also explain her unnatural long life. In terms of big episode points. For the most part we knew it was coming, the big confirmation though is that they name dropped chaos magic, as well as showing that she had the innate power all along. She is now the first MCU mutant shown on screen. I am not sure how they will explain how Quicksilver got his powers, as the episode basically suggested everyone else who came into contact with the mind stone died. Maybe Wanda protected him somewhat when it was his turn for the experiments. I assume he also had the powers before the mind stone, it's just the mind stone basically unlocked it similar to Wanda. The chaos magic name drop is huge, as you can pretty much do anything with it. Agatha also said 'You're a Scarlett Witch' the first time she has actually been called that in the MCU, and also confirming there are multiple versions (she said 'A' not 'The' Scarlett Witch). She is a Nexus being so will exist in multiple realities as the same character. In terms of the theories so far, I am going to partially backtrack. I do not think that Mephisto or Nightmare will show up in the final episode now. If they do, it will be an after credits scene reference to them. Also there is a huge issue with Mephisto in that hes basically the Devil. In China, they cannot show depictions of the Devil on mainstream television or anywhere really culturally its a big no no. So I don't think we will ever get Mephisto which is sad but Disney have to appease China for purely financial reasons. I think the same will be true of Dr Strange in the sense he won't show up unless post credits. I think the episode will focus entirely around Agatha / Haywood vs Vision / Scarlett Witch / Photon. There are a couple of dangling plot points though. As for the mid credits scene. I am so so so hoping that Haywoods white Vision has Ultrons voice. As soon as the scene started I thought he would speak at the end at it would cut to credits. Unfortunately it cut before he spoke but I do think it could be Ultron inside Visions old body. I really don't know how this will play into the final battle though. It also looks like he has a mini arc reactor in the space where the mind stone was. Then the other point is the rabbit and the 'missing persons' case they kept mentioning. I am struggling to think who it could be at this point. Perhaps Agatha put a spell on Dr Strange and its him trapped? Maybe could explain why he hasn't intervened yet. Time will tell but I am hoping for an extremely satisfying ending. Peace

I still haven't finished Fallout 4. STILL! I got so distracted with base building, then there was a bug where one of my camps wouldn't get above 75% on happiness or whatever... so infuriating. Then I think I got another bug right at the end of the game, so I couldn't complete it. Great list to start with! I would say Witcher should be in there, but I haven't played any of the series. I heard it was fantastic. And, Mass Effect Legendary, just so you can see the difference in visuals (or experience it for the first time). Then there's Civilization 4, 5, and 6. I like 4 the best, but obviously 6 will be the newest graphics. So excited for you! Hope to catch you on Valheim!

Welcome to PCMR! Lol. I still like my Playstation and Switch for various games. But, I grew up with mostly PC gaming! Love gaming laptops for their mobility. Worked well for me during my very nomadic lifestyle when I was younger (and recently when I feared getting kicked out of my game room before @TurboR56Mini started to get into gaming). What kind of games are you going to play on your laptop?

  35. Nice one, will get you added on Steam at some point today. I came back to PC gaming around 2012, first with Civilisation 5 and then with the DayZ mod. But I was using a work laptop which allowed me about an hour an a half on DayZ before overheating and dying. I loved that mod so much I saved my pennies for a gaming machine, best move I ever made.

  37. haha certainly! I have wanted to get into PC gaming more for the vast amount of games and the sheer amount of choice out there. I used to PC game when I was younger but mainly simulation and action games etc but lately the whole console thing has just declined in my interest with the exception of some games I play with the FG crew. Game I want to play: Valheim, Fallout, Diablo 3 (and 4 on release), sea of thieves, rust, day-z and a steam wishlist thats growing by the day. There are also some games like horizon 4 etc but I want so decent open world strategy type games to play on a night now. Games where I can feel progression and work for status etc. **Edit** removed spec to post in HW section 🙂 It should be delivered this week so I can get rolling on the weekend, plus its payday Friday for extras!

Can confirm that the game is a lot more stable. Still destroys my i5 from 2012 like (pinned at 100% usage), but at least the game isn't crashing every 15 mins! Been having a few profitable nights this week doing bounty hunting, item recovery, couriering etc.

  45. I think the problem with coaching in today’s age is that a lot of them are trying to fulfill the ‘want it now’ culture and so a timed weight loss goal is rather appealing to some. However, that isn’t how the body works. That’s just my opinion.

  46. 2/13/2021 Workout Squat Workshop Descending back squat ladder by 2 starting at 14 reps with load going to max. Thoughts: I just was not in it this week. I have been exhausted, and I spent some time trying to figure it out. Sure, we're super busy at work with the vaccine distribution, but I didn't think it physically tolled me. I guess it did. I skipped out on Friday's workout and slept really hard on Thursday. Then released (sorry guys) that it's the special time of the month where I'm just fatigued! Anyway, my squat ladder ended at 215lbs at 2 sets of 2 reps. Going to 225lbs should not have been an issue for final set, but it was. And, it was so disappointing. I was getting super jealous of one of the guys doing 315lbs, but ego lifts end up with injury, and I'm not about that. Food is shifting more and more towards what I need. My brain is shifting less and less towards my DietBet since it seems to be incredibly detrimental to my mental health. So, if I make the monthly, great! If not, I'm getting really proud of my legs lol. Today is my first day cracking open my protein powders. Not because I think it's a must, but because it's a great way for me to get my sweet in and stay full for longer and get other things in that I need for muscle repair during Sunday Rest Day. The protein powder I (we) use has been picked after going from the dirty stuff (but highly tasty) found in fitness stores, to now John's Killer Protein. It meets my criteria of what I'm looking for, and it meets husband's criteria on taste (super clean.. flavorless... so we can add the correct sweetener that doesn't offend his taste buds). I was reading something about the person who trains and manages the nutrition for one of the super hero celebs... and while basically all of the Marvel actors are on a very low carb diet among other strict timing guidelines, one of them actually does better with some carbs. He performs better. Recovers better. Leans out better. And, to be honest, that makes sense. I know my limits, and I think I have to be okay with staying in the 100g of carbs a day. I knew this before, but I was chasing the number on the scale. I talk about food a lot on this lately. I think a lot of people forget that you can't outrun a bad diet. I love weightlifting. I will always show up and do a strength workout. I hate doing cardio. But, it's also amazing how even an incorrect macro set up and food quality can affect your performance. This week was a harsh reminder... on top of my hormones hating me lol. Today is rest day. My legs are so solid and sore. We're back at it tomorrow, and I will program into my Monday some cardio and core. I just need to see what the gym is posting first. Side Note: Because husband tends to eat what I eat, and I did not exactly formally tell him what's going on -- it was super hilarious to me on Friday night when he says that his clothes are fitting better. Oh, you men and your easy weight loss with barely trying. Lolz.

  47. With each new quarterly update you have to create your face again but that's l. You keep whatever you owned from the previous patch. I've now got 200K credits saved up over the last year.
