  1. It was a phenomenal ride and something I wasn't initially intending to do but as the week went on I felt if we could get a team together it would be worth it - and it didn't disappoint. @Baabcat @Venom @RedXIII @Greboth and @Bluebear shared joint Worlds first for approximately 10 minutes whilst we navigated the first 'Sparrow' encounter. Just getting from post to post was incredibly hard with the blizzard in full force throughout that section. A great opening though for sure. Once we made it to the second 'Security' encounter, we bounced many ideas around and slowly made progress through it on our own. It felt great how people were working theories through on the spot and then giving them a go. Nick made a huge breakthrough with the 'Operator' and 'Scanner' roles which jumped us forward to working out the main part and then we had to work out the damage phase. Scott then gave us the right direction which left us with the task of just killing the fuses. Yeah, about that. That was super difficult with contest mode on and exploder shanks, Captains, and the Overload Captain all around you. Not even a Well would keep us alive when they got too close. After hours of trying to stay alive, no one gave up, no one quit and we were determined to get the job done. A quick fly to orbit because we noticed the enemies were starting to lag around quite abit we went back in and after a few tries and getting really close - including one where it glitched the screen, we all went blind and blown a red fuse and didn't complete correctly - we managed to clutch the final fuse with a number of us dead. The feeling was incredible and the reaction was priceless. You would have though we beat the entire raid and it was just one encounter! The experience was extremely worth it and reminded me of what makes this game so god damn good when you get a bunch of us together to work out puzzles and take down a bunch of crazy space enemies. And the loot is incredible btw. We went on to have a look at the 3rd encounter but that seems even more complex so worthwhile looking at that to understand mechanics before trying again. The design of this raid is super good and it brings out the story even more. Very dark, and very cool. Some surprises in there that link to the story that even people not that into it would say is cool imo. My hope is to get a completion before 1st December. That raid jacket reward finally looks wearable and worth it! 🤣😎 GGFG all and hope that all the other teams had a fun time in doing their first run blind!

It’s full co-op campaign with a proper story and what I can only imagine is plenty of items to craft. This is already shaping up to be one of the best games I’ve played, it plays so smoothly and looks incredible. Also it’s somehow still in early access, even though it looks like a finished triple A game. Jumped on to play with @phil bottle yesterday, we’ve started to set up a little base by the pond. Still got plenty to do as we haven’t searched everywhere and still have all the story to do. Also if you’re out at night time, it’s actually bloody scary 😂

Camping breakfast is the best! Nothing better than a campfire going, getting a griddle going w/ some bacon, eggs, toast, etc. Drinking coffee. Oh, man.... Amen!

    Outdoor cooking

With you on that! Strangely enough, I was never much of a cook before we bought our trailer but I found that cooking was probably my favorite part about camping. So I started trying to make some pretty fancy stuff and surprisingly they almost always turned out incredible. Now I plan out one or two unique dinners every trip to have something new and fun to look forward to, and I always crush the breakfast omlettes/biscuits/gravy/potatoes every morning. Love the mornings when it's cold and restarting the fire then cranking up the grill. At some point this week I'm going to buy a 22" blackstone griddle which is going to be my go-to both at home and at the campsite. I certainly like smoked food but only once in a while for me. I'm strange I guess - I can absolutely crush some barbecue and get strong cravings for it, but once I've had a meal it takes me a few weeks before I get any cravings again. So blackstone it is for me which is going to take my game to a whole new level. If you guys want to talk about Outdoor Grilling - you have to check out this guys youtube channel. I've copied so many of these meals it's not even funny. The guy is a hoot too Kent Rollins

    Outdoor cooking

I've been bit by the outdoor cooking bug pretty hard. I always grilled on occasion, but nothing "special" and maybe 5-10 times a year in total. A few months ago I bought a smoker. That's some game changing shit, right there. It's a combination hobby, science experiment, and art with the result being (usually) very tasty meat. Trying different kinds of wood, different spice mixes, different temperatures and variations...it's all quite enjoyable. I note that as I've gotten older my new hobbies are rather sedate, but here we are. Yesterday I had both the grill AND smoker going at the same time. Note they are both charcoal/wood, no cheating with gas or electric. Burgers, fish, and veggies on the grill, whole chickens and shrimp in the smoker. It's enough food for probably four days. My wife's happy, as she likes the food and the not cooking as often aspect. I'm happy because I like the food and it's fun. My son is happy because food. I'm waiting to see if a pellet grill goes on sale for Black Friday so I can do long/slow cooks while it's unattended (overnight or while I'm at work). I'm doing my own dry rubs, but not my own sauces yet. Anyone else into outdoor cooking?

  10. Saturday 6pm DST opened up on D2, and a bunch of FG teams gave it a go, blind and suffering from contest mode which made stuff hit hard. Not sure how other teams got on but me, Venom, Gazza, Scott (red), Geebs and Nick gave it a near 6 hour go, and I for 1 had an absolute blast. Apart from the sparrow bit at the start - can see that being the bane of my life for the next few months. Going blind was tremendous and even though it took about 5 hours to beat the first encounter it never got dull or frustrating, the challenge of understanding the mechanics, understanding the main problems (looking at you exploder shanks!) and working out a strategy for beating it was great, with loads of ideas and suggestions and even hand drawn maps ! After 5 hours of struggle finally beating the room was a tremendous high. Even though worlds first had just been announced for the full raid completion). The encounter is excellent, and i can see us getting it down quickly next time, when we wont have level disadvantage and we have a nailed down strategy. Wont say too much about it in case other want to do blind. Next boss looks like a cluster fuck, but Charlie has done it now with LFG and says its ok. No spoiler but get that new exotic quest done! Hope the other teams had a good time, blind raids come around so rarely that its really worth the effort to be ready for them. Would be interested to hear how you got on If my team want to have a go at the first boss tonight I'd be good for it, if not perhaps Thursday to brave that bloody sparrow part again!

  11. I don't do presents, my kids have had their money, I found that letting them buy their own stuff once they got to a certain age was easy for me and better for them, me and the wife don't really do all the usual birthday, anniversary Xmas stuff. However I usually go thirds on my parents gift but this year they're getting an IOU. Personally I'd settle for an end to this covid bullshit.

  15. Some of the old 007 games that were single player campaigns weren't that bad actually. Yes, they were very linear but you knew what you were getting with them which sometimes is all you need out of a purchase. For them to make a statement it would be incredible to see some form of MP like Goldeneye back in the day to really see if it could get enough backing.

  18. To be fair, at least they change the aesthetics each year. It is what is is, you know you're getting into a sweatfest in that map but it is very easy to do well on. Plus RPG's in the windows always work a treat. Demolition on Nuketown was my favourite game mode in BO2.....Those spawn traps! And Safeguard in BO3!

  25. Just having a look at a few of the newer films slated to come out next year and looks like they are re-doing tomb raider franchise, starting an uncharted franchise (male tomb raider), Mortal Kombat could potentially produce a lot of films as could Godzilla if they go through the monsterverse, DC are doing more villain/anti hero films with Morbius venom 2 and a suicide squad reboot, and if marvel can sort it out, the xmen universe could be a big one if done properly. Main one that people keep talking as the next big franchise though is pokemon, and I have next to fuck-all interest in that.

  27. Unfortunately we get that Vermont non sense and the the beer is like making love in a Canoe (fucking close to water), so it's not so Canadian. We are good thanks. My son has all of his CPA testing done and just needs the hours now. He's at a big 4 accounting firm. My daughter is finishing her last term to graduate as a BioChemist (might be a real good time to have that degree). My wife is retired. Adapting to living in Cali as opposed to Canada I changes roles at Intel. I am now a lead Architect on the coms stuff rather than a people manager. Looking forward to this Covid/Election craziness to be over. How about you? All good. I see you hang out with little dogs at work
