They should have it like that in Ranked but in casual play there's no need for it. It's almost like the developers don't know their player base.

From a non-expert viewpoint....good balance between game audio and your voice...there’s a slight ‘tinniness’ to your voice which may be your mic...apart from that sounds ok but I only listened to the first few minutes

Yo, stoaty1983, tee hee johnson, craig, etc. here! I do like the races and have enjoyed the NASCAR like ones. The stunt races are also good, no custom, catchup and slipstream on seems to keep groups together enough!

It tells me that there is plenty to come, and a lot of grinding ahead.

I would say its absolutely average at this point. It is certainly better than it was. Not sure if its worth 60$ though. What games are these days though?

No man's sky I've always wanted to try out. But always talk myself out of it due to previous bad reviews. And it's alot of money to blow on a less than average game.

I used to be hyped for COD as it was just almost the perfect game for me in the past and though I enjoyed bo3 CoD these days just doesn't have the draw. Will I buy it? Probably it might be a decent game but if it wasn't being made I wouldn't miss it. James post hit the nail on the head. A bit off topic but I feel the same about battlefield this year too, BF4 for me was the pinnacle of FPS games once it was sorted and I'd find it hard to beat.

While the PS4 release has been delayed, it's available via Steam early access for PC players. Thinking of picking it up,. Is it on anyone else's radar at all?

I played through Mw1, MW2, please let this franchise die already,, and Mw3 a bit over the last few weeks. Maybe its because I am old, but until they go back to that type of campaign, and multiplayer, then I am done with CoD. I managed to pick up Infinite Warfare, and WW2 at Christmas time for about 20$, and the MP side of things just isn't fun anymore. I don't enjoy the esports bullshit, or the catering to that 1% that happens with Activision. Back to trying to beat Demons souls I guess.

That's been the problem in this franchise for so many years now. They thought competitive was the way forward (along with wallrunning and outer space) when 99% of users are casual and not even a nosedive in sales and player counts couldn't hit home that this isn't what people wanted. The brand has failed miserably with the competitive focus so instead of writing it off; they've copied every other game in the last few years in one last ditch attempt but it will be the same old story I think; only this time, the competitive-heavy format will put people off entirely from purchasing. The series cannot get a foothold in the eSport arena and it makes very limited revenue from streams which is why nobody plays it. How hard is it to make a military-themed 6v6 FPS with boots on the ground with real weapons, equipment and vehicles FFS without having to add farcical features such as superhero abilities, knee sliding, OP weapons and cartoony gadgets. Thanks the hum is probably from the fan we have in our apt it’s a small studio apt so it may be where that hum is coming from and the mic is part of the headset I’m using

Is there a fan in the background, it sounds like there’s an external hum from somewhere. Are you using a separate mic to your headset? If it’s not directional, then it could pick up any noise in the room. I had this problem with mine, it wasn’t so sensitive it was picking up my thoughts 😄 Like Dave says, it does sound slightly tinny and the balance between game audio and your voice is good. 👍

Hey Craig! Catchup and slipstream is a must. You gotta keep the playing field as close as you can. @igotmollywhopped and @Horrible_Hector said there was some good custom races other people have made. Maybe we need to dip into there? The last person blowing up each lap was fun for a few races. I suggest that gets put on the shorter races.

I can't see them staying with that for long tbh. They are copying Overwatch to the tilt and they'll find out very quickly that they will need a no limits option.

Badass! Great to see a production company not having to rely on green screens and doing it properly.

I hold out hope they will do something with armour. The best grind in D1 was aiming for tier 12 stats with perfect perks for the play style you wanted. Bringing that back would be immense but it’s not even talked about. Sadly i I think they have been pushed to focus on random rolls for weapons but TBH for PvE no god roll is going to be better than a masterwork weapon. The orb creationi is too good a perk to be replaced by anything else. Obviously you can masterwork a god roll so it does add something but not a huge amount over and above orb creation. So that leaves god rolls for PvP in my opinion and just tips the balance towards good players who spend ages in PvP. Not sure that’s exactly what is needed (the gap between quickplay and competitive is already huge, this makes it huger).

Played about an hour of this so far. I was due to play more with a Warhammer nerd mate of mine but co-op isn't available until a certain amount of missions are completed. So that will have to wait. Plus, official launch is this week and all stats will be wiped, so I will just be playing to learn the ropes for now. I had hoped I could play this on the couch via Steam link and Xbox controller but at the moment only the Steam controller is supported, which is annoying. I tried using the Xbox controller but the button set up is too fucked up. Gamewise I'd describe it (lazily) as Diablo in space. The lore is extensive, as 40K has been around since the late 80s as a table top game.

In casual play the fact you can only have one specialist per team is a bit stupid really. It's just going to lead to people constantly rage quitting when they don't get the character they want and/or people receiving abuse for picking a character that somebody else wanted. We know this will happen because COD players are utter pricks.

So Step 4 is the easiest of the lot with 5 Precision multikills without reloading and 20 kills with the Prototype, although I found that random kills with another scout I had equipped got it knocked out. What's more surprising is that it gives out the Exotic Polaris Lance! So the guesses can come in for what Step 5 is. Most likely leads to the Masterwork for the weapon OR opens up 43 unique quest lines across each planet. (one can dream 😛)

I just don't get why they persist with making competitive a priority when it represents such a tiny amount of players and alienates the majority. Also the only good competitive format this franchise has ever had was on Black Ops 2 when COD was a dominant force in the genre and gaming as a whole. This franchise was at its best and sold more copies than ever when it was purely primarily casual. Heavy SBMM factors and general sweaty gameplay has seen the games become dead soon after Christmas. Activision need to accept that this series will never thrive as an eSport, it will never see the online viewership like it used to and it wont generate commercial revenue like other more appropriate titles. I do find a lot of the changes interesting and potentially refreshing but BO4 is trying to be something that it's not and with no campaign either, people are going to be put-off in droves I fear. The scoreboard is a joke too - seems they rate 'damage dealt' as fashionable over more fundamental factors. I dunno if they are trying too hard or have even completely misread the market or if they are just building the game around Activision's wishes but it's another developer and another year they have really missed the mark on how to make a hugely appealing COD game again. Already people are getting hyped for the prospect of MW4 because you don't really need to play BO4 to know if you will like it or not.
