  6. Looking back we were in a state of transition, moving away from 16 bit graphics to experience our first forray into 3d. A lot of the 3d models were blockish and certainly would not hold up well today, heck it's not often you see someone make a 90s style game but people do keep going back to our 16 bit era. So, are there any games you remember fondly? For me it'ss the obvious final fantasy games, but in addition to that I always remember fighting force. Spending a lot of time on streets of rage when I was younger I suppose this was the sort of game that evolved from them, walking around 3d levels beating the crap out of people. So, are there any that you remember fondly?

  8. Would be good to get a couple more on fifa from FG, otherwise the month seem's ok but I find I just add PS plus games to my library these day's and never actually play them.

  9. I've played 2 hours of the game, it's a bit janky but I'm really liking it. I chose the LRI faction, which can never be changed, and this means if you have friends who choose one of the other factions (there's 3 in total) you can't play with them as they are effectively your enemy. A dipshit team-killed me tonight which was a bit stupid as you can see all your faction players location on the map. I hunted the prick down and had my revenge : ) Game needs some work but they seem to be pretty responsive as we can shoot from helicopters now, so hope they continue to listen to feedback πŸ€— I bought the game for 29.99 and if they carry on making it better I'll support them by picking up one of the supporter upgrades...will see anyway...

    RIP Tarkov

With the release of a new edition EFT pretty much killed themselves yesterday. I won't go into the details as I'm the only one who plays or cares but yeah they've always been a bit scummy but now they're pretty much hated by the whole community πŸ™ˆπŸ€ͺ😭

  13. I would just put it down to the complete imbalance of young and experienced players, they just don’t have anyone on the pitch to guide them and it shows. The only player to stand out for them this season has been Cole Palmer. If they didn’t have him they would’ve definitely been in a relegation battle again.

  14. Crazy how Chelsea have spent $1.5bn including a few Β£100m+ players and Palmer is the only decent signing. City probably shouldn't have got rid of him although it would've been very hard to accommodate him into the team at the time. Impressive how good he is in such a bad Chelsea side and probably the only remotely exciting player they have. Jackson is probably the worst finisher in history and could've probably netted 40 goals this season.

  15. Yeah I enjoyed just pottering around, it makes a nice change of pace from most games in that there is no urgency or rush to do things ^_^ Definately up for more of it and sorry I had to disappear, my daughter is awful at night when she wakes up ^_^

  18. Very tough choice because the 90's made some huge strides in very little time and the industry kept evolving and innovating massively - imagine going from Doom to Half Life in just 5 years! The gulf between a 2019 game compared to a 2024 one now is almost nothing. Metal Gear Solid is a very strong shout because it told an incredible story and had some unforgettable gameplay moments. There's also Half Life as mentioned, Resident Evil 2, FF7, Super Mario 64, GoldenEye, Age of Empires 2 and many more. I'd probably give it to MGS overall as it pushed the PS1 to the max and also exposed Nintendo's mistake in using cartridges as even some of the sound files were bigger than an entire N64 game! Games going from 2D to 3D was big in those days and Mario 64 was also a significant leap. I really miss huge innovations like that these days.

  20. I played and beat Tunic on Xbox Game Pass, fun little game but a bit too hard for me so I had to tone the difficulty right down 🀣 I don’t care for Destiny and I already have EA Sports FC. Really excited about GhostRunner 2 but I still haven’t got around to playing the first one that was on PS Plus a while ago, maybe I push these up the backlog!

  21. There's mooted to be a new map about to drop soon, among order stuff happening at a forthcoming DayZ event. A winter map in Norway possibly but really no-one knows yet. Plus all owners of DayZ who never bought the previous dlc map, Livonia, are being given it for free.

  23. So we managed to get on this last night, Lee, Tom and once we managed to install the games (the auto downloads did not work for various reasons). Anyway I had a lot of fun with this, it's a very different pace compared to Helldivers, COD etc. I managed to kill Lee with a bomb thinking friendly fire was off, we almost burnt down the ship multiple times, I watched Tom raise the anchor while the ship was in flames all next to him, we also locked Tom in the brig only for him to die and come back as a skeleton (just on my screen apparently). Oh and if your crew mates are drunk definately don't fall off the ship! It runs really smooth and the gameplay is quite simple in all honesty but it was kind of refreshing to play after some of the recent multiplayer games we have been into. There was no pressure to do anything and I think at the end of the session we were just sailing about aimlessly, playing music and just visiting random islands and such. I am quite looking forward to diving back in and unlocking more quests and such.

    Grey Zone Warfare

Only 44% positive so far but I'm guessing lots of people are leaving a negative review after 0.3 hours after experiencing performance issues or bitching that the game isn't finished🀣 Arma Reforger seems to have come a long way of late and the population is picking up so I may check that out in time.

    Grey Zone Warfare

I've played about an hour or so. It's definitely still in an early access state. I was getting 60+ frames but there's a bit of stuttering and occasional lag and that needs to be sorted. A few server issues getting into the game but didn't crash on me at all. Arma Reforger is in a much better state and right now I'd tell folk to go for that first but I'm happy with this game, hope it gets supported and they sort out their servers.

It's 30 quid, you can buy supporter packs that give you more equipment and space etc but I'm fine for the time being. If I enjoy the game and feel like supporting the devs I'll look at that down the line.

Can anyone topple 2 time champion @jordie1892, or will he make it back to back to back titles? There have been some big quarterback moves in the last couple of months that could make for an interesting season. If you would like to take part in the next season just reply to this thread. For previous entrants please confirm if you would like to take part again this year, the more we get doing this the better it will be πŸ™‚ @G_dub52 @Ally @GazzaGarratt @Lurchzy @jordie1892 @Findmartin @Plumbers Crack @techno @Baabcat @Laidback Lankyman @Luseth

    RIP Tarkov

I was always really interested in Tarkov but didn't take the plunge because I got fed up of the developers keeping the game in early access and moving goalposts with content and promises. They are really beginning to take the piss now and the greed has really set in. Also some really dumb decisions have been made on the direction the game is going in and so much time has been wasted on these fringe endeavours. Charging $250 is utterly unacceptable for a videogame especially when it's P2W and also locking a basic game mode behind it. I can only assume they wasted a huge amount of money on their failed battle royale venture and are now desperate. Even the $150 version was taking the piss. If they brought the game to Steam all those years ago and charged Β£35-40 then they probably would've netted an extra 10-15m players and eased many burdens with running the game through their own framework. Escape From Tarkov players rage as developers lock co-op PvE behind a new $250 edition despite promising access to 'all subsequent DLCs' in its old $150 edition | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM It's getting ugly out there.
