Not non league related but to end the day on a laugh, some bloke calling up Absolute Radio and requested a song for someone called ‘Ellen Droad’ and...

If I was a Man U fan I'd probably want Ten Hags to stay, but either way, them ensuring Chelscum are out of Europa League cracks me up. Although think they're in the other euro cup, is it the conference?

Dortmund 0-2 Real in the Champions League Final.

First half was very entertaining and Dortmund were excellent but you always knew those missed chances and overall dominance would come back to haunt them. Took Real 70 minutes to get going and once they got the first one it was game over. Should've never taken off Adeyemi for Reus as that's when their attacking threat was erased and Reus is basically the Harry Kane-luck equivalent when it comes to winning things. Dortmund must really hate Wembley now - two Champions League finals and two defeats to Spurs there in 11 years🤣

VAR not scrapped after Premier League vote.

Sad but not surprising as it was expected. Needs a global change, not just one league.

Crazy how 19 voted in favour of it.  I think Wolves should've changed their approach and instead requested it be suspended and overhauled rather than it being outright removed. It's a wake-up call though but I hope this unanimous vote doesn't mean they can carry on like previous.

England 0-1 Iceland

A pretty shambolic way to go into the Euros especially with so many bad individual performances as well as a team collective. It's only a friendly but to lose a game like that with a big tournament a week away is not encouraging. I think we are really going to miss Maguire and Phil Foden also has to step it up like he does for club. For all his critics, Pickford is also a key player. Dropping Grealish is such a massive call especially when he maintained Henderson for so many years so that could come back to haunt Southgate.

I do wonder if cutting players like Grealish and Maddison has had an effect on team morale. They're both big, positive personalities and maybe that vacuum creates uncertainty in the minds of players and affects confidence. I'd have kept one of them around. But then, Iceland are almost a bit of a bogey team for England, so who knows...

Absolutely. It's not just about footballers abilities but what they bring to the dressing room and Grealish has been involved in the setup for years, has played with the likes of Stones, Walker and Foden for club and country and carries a huge presence off the field. His absence will surely be felt in more ways than one. If our midfield is as bland and limited as it looked the other day and it costs England then Southgate will be toast. I personally feel that we are going into this tournament with so many unproven players and whilst Maguire's absence is unfortunate and Maddison out of form, to drop someone like Grealish could be fatal.

Shocking performance from England today. Lucky to get a draw and were even worse than the first game. Just look so lacklustre in everything we do. The pitch didn't help but that didn't stop Denmark delivering a solid performance.

I can't believe England won the group or even got through. Last night was dismal once again despite dominating large parts. There is no passion, direction or urgency there. This is the worst England have been since 2016 under Hodgson and if we don't improve drastically, we'll get knocked regardless of who we play next.

Top of the group with 2 goals, it’s impressively boring. Loved seeing Palmer, Mainoo and Gordon making some waves at least.

We've got nothing to lose now and Southgate will probably get more credit if he starts taking some risks. It's painfully clear that the current system is completely unworkable and if he has to drop some big names then so be it cos it cannot continue. With Georgia comfortably beating Portugal and Austria beating Holland to win the group, England look the poorest team in it and they are already undeservedly through leaving us embarrassingly fortunate.

It genuinely looks like Southgate is trying his hardest to play the most uninspiring football ever seen. However despite his best efforts I’m glad some individuals decided to pull it out the ball and break the mould. Foden needs to not be on that left hand side next game.

I can't believe England got through after delivering possibility their worst ever performance at a major tournament even more dire than Iceland 2016. I didn't even celebrate because it felt more embarrassing than anything. Southgate lives to fight another day but if it carries on like this he and England will come badly unstuck.  Foden needs to be dropped seriously - has never had a good game for England ever and it has a terrible knock-on effect to the midfield and forwards. Great to see Palmer and Toney make some sort of impact but we should've been 2-0 down by then and should've conceded the most humiliating goal ever from the halfway line but got lucky once again.

@GazzaGarratt rebuttal inbound 😂

TBF Lee did calm the conversation down last night about the frustration we all felt last night. I mean I was very frustrated with the performance but Lee had some good points.

I personally would still like to see some more fluidity in attack rather than us sticking to this rigid structured approach Southgate has us playing (which I do think is intentional).

Stones driving the ball into midfield, Bellingham overlapping Kane, Eze, Gordon or Saka getting in behind. It all sounds great but whether we’ll see what they can do at club level at the international stage we’re yet to know.

Better performance from England although we rode our luck a couple of times. Did well to get back into the game once again. Outstanding penalties under real pressure to seal the win!

Fantastic performance last night especially in the first half. Got the subs right once again. Penalty was a bit harsh but as soon as you lift your leg studs up then you risk drawing contact so it's a penalty based on that. One more big performance needed!

Spain 2-1 England

Very disappointing once again. Lucky to not be 3-0 down and when we do get back into the game, we sit back and let them get a later winner. I don’t know what it is about us gradually sitting back and inviting pressure but it happens every bloody time and costs us dear. Subs did well again but maybe Palmer and Watkins should’ve started as Kane get again just chased shadow largely and he was spent by 60. Don’t know why we have to fall behind before we start playing either.

Best team won overall but Spain were there for the taking after we equalised and we were lucky to get to the final. Their run was significantly harder. Another monumental missed opportunity and despite another strong tournament; nothing to show for it apart from regret.
