  1. How many options did people have in 2011? Now we have COD, Fortnite, Apex, overwatch, PUG, destiny and Grand theftb that I can think of. All of which compete for the same players/dollars. Look at steam and they are constantly at the top. Battlefield and Halo don't even show up. The first COD game came out 20 years ago. everything considered I would say they are doing pretty well. How many other games from their generation are still around and have players playing them Why do you think that Sony is fighting so hard to prevent MS from purchasing activision. If the player counts were this bad why would the care.
  2. My list - Bring in a sniper riffle with thermal and silencer when ever you can. You will be able to see the enemy from far away and mark them for you and team. The can also spot enemy operators easily. The back pack is very noticable. You can count on picking up the RPK quickly or shotguns. - Look at your team mates challenges. I often see they have the same as me, so then say hey guys we all need to air strike 10 guys. If they don't say great idea you know you are in for a shit match and likely to all die because you are stuck with dumb people. Just saying - Get an easy contract immediately (radio actives are the best). Then think of you extraction strategy. You get extraction streaks in this game and if you build up 5 or more you can become pretty godly. Play the long game - When using a vehicle to go extract. Have someone leave early at the other side of the extraction point you will use. Use your thermal or spoting scope to look for exfil campers. Having a UAV or recon drone is also helpful. If they are there, they probably do not have your best interest in mind and decide what you want to do - If another team is extracting, friend them without saying anything. If they refuse just let them extract and get the next one only you are prepared to lose than fight, might win but you might lose. I tend to not be a dick because some kids new to the game might just be trying to get their 2 plate vest or extract with their stims - Assume that the AIs are PC players with wall hacks and aimbots. Because that pretty much how effective they are right now. The can see you while inside a building a throw a grenade through the window at you. - Go to gas stations to fuel and fix you vehicles. Be prepared for the 6-8 AIs however that patrol the station - use the radio towers and building to parachute around to "fast travel". Be prepared for operators camping the climb however. Don't all go up at the same time. See if you get shot at - If your team mates fail to revive you don't leave. They can still revive you as long as your dog tag is still there. It just takes longer - Be prepared for operator dog fights at Quarry, havid port, mall, airport. There are a number of missions that you have to do there. So there is a good likelyhood that other operators are trying to do them too. Try to friend them, if they don' respond immediately assume they are hostile - Roll as a 6 operator team when ever you can. If you can find people who co-operate friend them in game and for future games. - I would get an an AR over a LMG when I can. You want to be able to reload quickly. As I said the other gun should be a sniper - Remember there is another slot in the medium/large backpack to carry a 3rd weapon. Don't drop something good if you haven't used the slot - Put some proximity mines in your vehicles if you can. If another team tries to steal them while you are doing something. Kaboom 🙂 if you drive around and into their vehicle Kaboom. Miraculously you will survive the kaboom and get a lot a kind comments and complements on your strategy 😉 - After I die I think to spend the next mission looking for better backpack and plate vests and self revives. If I get them I extract to get ready for real missions - keep an eye on the timer. Once the gas starts you want to have your extraction strategy and be close to an extraction point. Don't mill around the gas because it will overcome you quickly and the chopper ain't coming for you - you can rescue the hostage to extract. A chopper will come for you and its not an extraction point on the map. However the mission is not a gimmie and some of the rescues can be pretty hard. Shoot the guards through the windows before you breach the door if you can. Minimize the number of guards before entering. Find the hostage quickly before the explosive vest blows - People will try to kill you at final extraction, kill them first - If your team mates go into a restricted area with a single plate vest and not guns, go in a different direction. They are idiots and will get you killed. Unless you got nothing too and just want to go in for the ride - If you got nothing and go in without a weapon. Best strategy is dead silence and throwing knife. Its a one it silent kill on the AI. Then pickup a gun and the other shit you are going to need - If you get a chance, jump onto the train early. Lots of low risk great loot there. However it drives into dangerous AI areas so don't stay there too long - Learn the extraction points you should avoid. The caves and observatory for example. Just too many armoured AI there. the likelyhood of getting out is low. Get a vehicle and drive to a safer spot instead
  3. If you died, haven't you lost your insured weapon for 2 hours? I always bring in the insured if I have it. Usually a sniper riffle as those are rare pick up items. I leave the other slots open.
  4. Let's face it, you'd find a way to complain about a Margo Robbie Blow Job because she isn't waring the right outfit and using enough hand.
  5. I'll be happy if I don't get AI enemies that can see my through a concrete wall and shoot me from 200m with a shotgun. Same with them being able to throw a molotov at me when I am at the top of a communication tower uploading a hardrive after I climbed it with dead silence. The rest of the game is pretty enjoyable to me. I whish the had a better squad system. I get rather tired of the doofus that rush into a stronghold without a gun and a single plate vest when I am trying to squad up with a decent team to get some of the harder missions done
  6. If is that good a cod, no one is spending time reading.
  7. I guess I am old school. Parents should be spending time with him reading and some social skills instead of planting his face in front of an iPAD and filming it.
  8. Yah. Got two crates yesterday as well. Some kind wanted level up is weapon and we just started doing contracts casually and squad came up and announced they were friendly so we joined up. Wanted to do the weapons cases so we rolled with them. Went really well first time. The kid and I went in again and found another squad and did the same We were particularly lucky. The extraction was almost right next to the case so we didn't get anyone chasing us. His gun went up like crazy
  9. I agree with @Luseth When you say stuff like "thousands of innocent people" and the number is 60 is hard to be credible in the rest of the argument
  10. that's always the case. They probably got a bonus for reducing cost. However if Halo disappeared would it be a big deal to gamers. On steam they average the 30 day average is less than 5000. Comparatively Warzone is 120000, witcher 3 is 43000, Skyrim 27000. An 11 year old game is has about 600% more players. So if I am running a business and I am microsoft I wouldn't sweat closing down something that generates 5000 players a month and I would put my money into candy crush or fruit ninja. Sucks for those 60 people but with those numbers MS probably didn't think about it for more that 10 seconds.
  11. 60 people out of 10000 is pretty minuscule. They probably expect the Activision merger to go forward and these people are a victim of that. I read that azure, sales and Marketing were hit hard.
  12. Where did you see that any of the layoffs have anything to do with Gaming? I've seen no such indication. The announcements I have seen are pretty generic All the major tech companies are laying off. Part of the problem was that Exec management were spending like druken sailors and hiring anything with a pulse. The pay packages people were getting to jump ship were simply insane. Engineers where getting $340K to switch jobs at Apple, amazon, google, intel, Facebook, MS, Netflix. The packages were much better than employees that were there so that cause those people to jump ship too. g So now things have slowed down and they realize of shit our costs are way to high. We need to get them under control. The numbers are quite high but the majority of companies are in the 5% range. It always the employees who suffer but I have been in tech long enough to know that this is something you have to plan for as it happens all the time. I've been laid off 3 times over my career. Intel being one of them and they hired me back 8 years later. Shit happens in this industry the worse part is all the H1B visas in the USA. Those people now have 60 days to find another job or they have to go back to their countries. Some have been in the country 15 years and are raising families there but those are the conditions for those visas. Given the current situation most probably cannot be hired in time.
  13. Maybe the people that we added had squad mates that ran away. I've had awesome squad fill games. People tend to be genuinely interested in doing the missions when that happens. With 6 people it's pretty had to fail. I also like the shock on other squads that attack you when they realize they just stirred a hornets nest and have to take on 6 motivated players than now are going to fuck them up This afternoon when we were doing it, we were rocking 3 LTVs going spot to spot. Great fun. You can't do that at all solo since there is no one to man the turret.
  14. I don't think so because I have revived entire squads. Stonemountain has also done it on a number of his videos. I think he even did it with a solo.
  15. You do know that you can ask for help from a squad that downs you. I would in a case like that ask for help and say that you are running solo. Once you killed someone, they aren't a risk to you so a lot of people are more trusting at that point. The game is also a hell of a lot of fun running a x6 squad. I did that this morning and told the people I had to go because I had a meeting. They actually extracted me in so I would get my mission. There are a lot of dicks in the game, but there are a lot of helpful people too. Some of the later missions benefit from large squads.
  16. My only suggestion would be to gear before you do something difficult. Get your 3 plate vest and large backpack. Gas mask. Precision airstrike. Revive pistol, Revive kit, Plenty of stims. Once you get going, plates/plates/Plates. Try to get a number of good extraction perk streaks and then go for those missions. Carry in a sniper rifle and a good AR/LMG. I like having a thermal also just to spot people/AI I also tend to avoid cars. They make noise and are visible on the map. I Climb the towers and parachute instead. People seem to rarely look up I do squad up however and assess the squad. If there are newbies without microphones, I don't go for anything difficult and don't risk my gear as much
  17. I've gotten a lot of people to team up. What I do is I say I can see you, don't shoot or our squad will return fire. I also ask to party up The only reason to shoot is the hunting a squad contract or the picking up tags mission I know you run mostly solo but if they think you are rolling a party they might leave you alone. I would say use proximity chat to scare them away. If you are solo you are easy pickings. Just occasional say that you have they operator in your sights. Do you want to ping if you want to engage. They might just decide to run at that point. It does happen a lot however. This morning my team killed 9 operators in our deployment just because they decided to shoot at us. We all rock a thermal sniper and ping the bad guys these days so it usually doesn't end well for them. It would be impossible for a solo player like you to survive that When we go to extract we take a car and I get out before the extract point. My team mates go to the opposite end of the extraction point. So if people attack they attack the two in the car and I am typically behind them so they get wacked 🙂
  18. Happy Birthday, now I am off to hack your personal accounts which will specifically ask me when you were born 😉
  19. Maybe he should exercise more and play video games less. Candy ass wimp
  20. I wanted to add that extracting is preferable to anything else in this mode. You get the extraction bonus and an bonus perk if you did a contract. The most I have gotten to is 10 perks (which meant 10 consecutive successful extractions). Those are the same perks as MP. Getting those makes you near godly so it is friending players to get out successfully is to me preferable than getting the 100 xp for an operator kill and their loot.
  21. I went with engage only if there is a mission. Could have been try to squad as well. If I am in a good squad that communicates I even "bait" the players when asking to squad up. I run a thermal sniper now. Tell them where they are and that I will shoot to their right then I do it. Squad up or die 🙂. After that they usually do. Another option could have been, kill one (with the sniper) and wait for teammates to come and revive. Then take them out. If they are solo I tell them to ask for help and I revive them which makes them part of the squad. I tend to try to help the Solo guys. They are usually not a concern When we run 6 to a squad we pretend there are 3 of us. That way if others engage they get a big surprise.
  22. Then try the shield + gun, double time, fast hands, dead silence. Run after them. A lot of people when the see the shield the try to run away, switch to gun and kill them. Might even work if you soften them up with the shield first although I haven't tried that
  23. Well played (it's actually 17+ in the USA).
  24. If only. How does a 6 year old learn to bring a loaded gun to school and shoot the teacher.
  25. I guess you try when you no longer get banned for being mean to 13 year olds 😉
