  3. Through what I can see and my opinion on what parts were Activisions issues, were mainly around the production the timeline of content, the cost of this content to the consumer and microtransactions. Activision investment and support has meant we have got far more regular content than we have ever before on Destiny and on most games (exception of Fortnite). The difficulty of that though is we have had to pay for that investment in a big way. Season Passes are now fundamentally part of Activisions games however other companies now don't do this. Microtransactions are clearly the way to go but again should be accessible via other means (in-game currency) and if it isn't, it must be cosmetic and reasonably priced - Bungie wouldn't have put a $10 price tag on their Iron Banner, Whisper, Thunderlord, etc bundles. That's Activision. I'll be clear in setting expectations which I think after this year we'll have to get used to - content will be slower as they have less developers. It's the quality of the content that needs to be there. That's what Forsaken was. Until we see Anthem, which I think we're all still apprehensive about, I can't pick a game out right now that rivals the variety of content, the grouping up/social aspect, and the solid shooting that comes with a Bungie developed game.
  4. Whilst I do have that soft spot for Destiny that doesn't mean I won't call them out. This forge puzzle recently was something that they tried but didn't pan out right and was wrong to timegate people into waiting for a 4th forge. However, I'll always be a person, regardless of the game, to try and understand why they do things as most changes have positive intentions. (E.g. that forge puzzle was the right concept of a hidden puzzle but by being transparent with comms about a hidden 4th forge it meant people just wanted the content tonplay and shoot stuff rather than cater to 5% of the community that are experts in the Raid Secrets community).
  5. Whilst still no gameplay whatsoever and very little info at all coming out a Czech retailer accidentally leaked a date of November 29th for this title. I'd hope that means we get to see some gameplay in the coming few months. I'd like to try a Metroid game, it's never appealed to me much before a Switch.
  6. I think it's great news overall. However it doesn't guarantee success in any way and like Rob says, there's no one to be the scapegoat now. There are now the biggest independent game publisher and I will always have a soft spot for Bungie. Halo and Halo 2 took gaming to a whole new level for me. Hearing a lot of thoughts and reviews I tend to believe a lot of good value will eventually come out of this but we may be waiting for a while for how this changes the updates and world of Destiny. I also think we will get a Destiny 3 too. Just a frickin better one that just has Bungie on the box.
  7. Full news story here https://www.bbc.com/sport/amp/tennis/46833018?__twitter_impression=true Britain's Andy Murray says he plans to retire after this year's Wimbledon but fears next week's Australian Open could be the final tournament of his career. The three-time Grand Slam winner, who is struggling to recover from hip surgery, was in tears at a news conference in Melbourne on Friday. "I'm not sure I'm able to play through the pain for another four or five months," said the 31-year-old Scot. "I want to get to Wimbledon and stop but I'm not certain I can do that." However, Murray says he still intends to play his Australian Open first-round match against Spanish 22nd seed Roberto Bautista Agut next week. ___________________ It must be horrible to have to be stop the thing you love because of something beyond your control. Whilst us English have always had that Scot joke going for Forever and a day, you can't take away what he's done for British sport and Tennis as a whole. For him to win 3 Grand Slams and perform like he did in arguably the best era for producing top tennis stars (Federer, Nadal, Djokovic) is amazeballs. I remember his Grand Slam at Wimbledon and I also remember his Gold Medal at London Olympics. Great feeling to see a man like that beat the cream of the crop and I hope his body can not be too broken so we can see him in one last Wimbledon.
  8. Alongside these two, we currently have a small amount of people on a Minecraft Server too. That could be expanded if we got this going again. Would be great to some thoughts on this from others as getting a large group together certainly makes gaming a lot more fun, no matter what the game is. Rich, do all of these cost money? Where possible it would be great to support more servers but to be clear to everyone here, money will always play a factor (and having awesome donators like we have for the current ones too ❤️)
  9. Man, I hate getting old. For the first time in my life i'm having to far more conscious on how much food, more specifically rubbish sugary food, than ever before. I've never had to do this ever in my life and it is the most boring thing for me to do. I eat because I have to. Don't get me wrong I love good food but it isn't what I think about everyday. Are any of you people having to get a routine going and is there any techniques I can use on how to get rid of the temptation for chocolate and sweets or even just anything unhealthy at random times through the day? I have to get my weight down, i'm not heavy by any stretch but this is the heaviest i've ever been and the unfittest also. Any decent easy healthy food thoughts wouldn't go a miss either.
  10. Watched a ton of movies over the Christmas break. Ace Ventura (both movies) - 'Like A Glove!' 😂 Man, these are classic. I can't get over how the slapstick Jim Carrey performs in them still cracks me up. Some of the jokes though...really wouldn't fly if it was released today. Se7en - Ages well, Freeman plays a great cop whereas Brad Pitt just annoys me in it. Kevin Spacey is such a good baddie too. Avengers Infinity War - First time watching again since the cinema. Just as good as the first watch. Some of the scenes with Thanos kicking ass is gutwrenching yet you want it to carry for as long as humanly posssible. Why does it have to be so long to wait for the next film and Captain Marvel?! Pacific Rim Uprising - Now, I know the first film isn't a great film for most but for me, I loved the action in it and the Jaegers were just something I've always loved. Unfortunately the sequel is really bad and doesn't really do the first film any justice. Things in the film should matter and you just don't care one bit. I can't believe a film that the Japanese admire so much could have such bad storyline connections in it. Gutted. Then there was....Ready Player One. My god. For a gaming nerd, that loves Spielberg and CGI style movies, this one by a clear crystal mile goes into my top 3 films ever. The story is beautifully crafted, the characters are memorable and its like doing one of your most enjoyable Quests from your favourite game. For a gamer at heart, you have to watch this ASAP.
  11. This is the biggest news for quite a while to come out of Destiny. Massive implications, and I am being very positive about the future of Destiny after this statement being released. OUR DESTINY 0h - Destiny Dev Team When we first launched our partnership with Activision in 2010, the gaming industry was in a pretty different place. As an independent studio setting out to build a brand new experience, we wanted a partner willing to take a big leap of faith with us. We had a vision for Destiny that we believed in, but to launch a game of that magnitude, we needed the support of an established publishing partner. With Activision, we created something special. To date, Destiny has delivered a combination of over 50 million games and expansions to players all around the world. More importantly, we’ve also witnessed a remarkable community – tens of millions of Guardians strong – rise up and embrace Destiny, to play together, to make and share memories, and even to do truly great things that reach far beyond the game we share, to deliver a positive impact on people’s everyday lives. We have enjoyed a successful eight-year run and would like to thank Activision for their partnership on Destiny. Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce plans for Activision to transfer publishing rights for Destiny to Bungie. With our remarkable Destiny community, we are ready to publish on our own, while Activision will increase their focus on owned IP projects. The planned transition process is already underway in its early stages, with Bungie and Activision both committed to making sure the handoff is as seamless as possible. With Forsaken, we’ve learned, and listened, and leaned in to what we believe our players want from a great Destiny experience. Rest assured there is more of that on the way. We’ll continue to deliver on the existing Destiny roadmap, and we’re looking forward to releasing more seasonal experiences in the coming months, as well as surprising our community with some exciting announcements about what lies beyond. Thank you so much for your continued support. Our success is owed in no small part to the incredible community of players who have graced our worlds with light and life. We know self-publishing won’t be easy; there’s still much for us to learn as we grow as an independent, global studio, but we see unbounded opportunities and potential in Destiny. We know that new adventures await us all on new worlds filled with mystery, adventure, and hope. We hope you’ll join us there. See you starside. BUNGiE
  12. I may not be on Destiny Monday but if I am it'd be better to do your weekly updates Steffen considering reset is Tuesday.
  13. I took a pot shot at the name, its more likely to be Dave. However, now thinking about it, we should call another one Pyjamas...
  14. His name is Mike.
  15. Glad to see you here @UpZz_o!! Are you into any other games then Steffen? I know certainly from some of the other Destiny folk it's been great to hear you've helped them through a number of activities already! Take a look around and make sure yourself at home. Great to have another addition to the FG family 👍 Lee
  16. My opinion: Positives Great that they can decouple this so quickly and respond yet again in a snap to feedback Negatives A ghost and an emblem for something that is freaking difficult to crack doesn't seem the right rewards Whilst responding and changing the game so quickly is great, you can't keep making the initial mistake
  17. Just got the update from Bungie website: Today, at 2PM Pacific Time, the Bergusia Forge will be unlocked for all players who own the Annual Pass. While coming together as a community to solve puzzles can be fun, setting this puzzle up as a gate between you and new content that you want to play has not been an ideal experience. As such, we will be decoupling the puzzle from the final offering of the Black Armory. All Annual Pass owners will be able to experience the Bergusia Forge when the puzzle is solved or when the deadline expires - whichever happens first. We realize that many of you have been working hard to solve the puzzle of the Niobe Labs. Whatever the outcome, it will remain open for Annual Pass owners who still want to test their problem solving skills. There is a Ghost and an Emblem to earn as evidence that you completed the challenge. We love trying new things with Destiny, but we’re also flexible enough to pivot when you point out room for improvement. We’ll continue to monitor the conversation about this event and learn from your feedback as we create future content releases. Thanks for playing. Enjoy the final forge.
  18. Someone done it Chad?!
  19. Don't worry. Stretch and myself were stuck on trying to see the whole screen on our Tv's so couldn't see half the indicators! 😂
  20. Couldn't agree more. Although, my positive side says I frickin hope we could get something still as an appreciation to when you complete Niobe Labs, since it is replayable. Just hope it's not one of those moments when they had a really great new Public Event on Mercury only for 2 Tokens and a Blue engram meme to stick forever. Has anyone tried any parts? I know @reaper-2201 and @Bluebear we're trying certain parts last night.
  21. New Event is up. January 8th - January 21st. Looks like by playing specific activities and winning matches across quickplay and competitive means you can obtain new skin and sprays for Ana. Really neat idea and it feels like a test in the water for different challenges on how to keep Overwatch relevant and a game income back to. I may give it a go as I do enjoy playing Ana. Thoughts? Anyone tried it yet?
  22. So, yesterday was the first day of a new content event, if you can call it that. Many expected to jump into some type of different missions and maybe an element of problem solving to finally unlock the 4th hidden Forge. Bungie came out to say the following tweet. The overwhelming response to this over the last 24 hours is a somewhat mixed response to say the least, and I understandably agree why. The picture below just shows you how much of this puzzle is a huge positive to all the Raid Secrets Guardians out there that have buckets of time on their hands. To everyone else, there wasn't much stuff to really be able to do. No gun fights or boss mechanics (so far) to beat. I suppose it swings in roundabouts - content was unlocked when the first people completed the Last Wish Raid. They had to be the highly skilled ones, however everyone could at least get into the game and feel like they were trying to beat it and learn mechanics for later attempts. This is an utter mind blow of a puzzle so I fear the longer this goes on, the majority of Destiny's community will feel like it's another dry, new content day release. I get that. If I didn't have my milestones and objectives to do with other stuff then I'd feel 100% the same nothingness feel. I really REALLY hope the forge that is eventually unlocked is well worth the wait.
  23. It feels more closer to Warframe than Destiny. They've said it wants to allow you not be always about guns so abilities can be essentially spammed on certain build types. Good in one sense but I kind of feel it's trying too hard to be something it isn't. A little like Destiny can feel sometimes. Far better in a party where attacks can be co-ordinated.
