  1. After over a year away and the game being seemingly forgotten, it looks like it's gone through a major overhaul and will likely be free to play when it does fully release once more. Never played it back in the day and the devs got some flak for some bad decisions in which the player base evaporated but it looks like they've worked hard. It wont come close to Battlefield and it's extremely risky releasing months before BF2042 but it'll be interesting to see how it does.

  4. Battlefield is one of the cleanest games out there especially on high-end and high capacity protected dedicated servers on PC. It's by far the most spectacular multiplayer experiences available. The only reason I wouldn't crossplay is due keyboard/mouse vs gamepad plus there are way too many cheaters on console now after Warzone and Apex running hardware cheats which could bypass any server-side AC's. Cheating could very well be a bigger problem on console now and there's no way it can be combated and most of the time it has gone unnoticed and undetected. The old PS4/XB1 gen cannot crossplay with the PS5/XBSX either.

  7. Firstly, congratulations for making it to 50 hours. I lasted barely 20 hours in Origins before it became absolute torture to play. This latest breed of AC games are basically way too big with the story spread thin across a huge landscape in which the map has to be bloated with mundane tasks for filler. Not only that, Ubisoft introduced RPG level-gating which meant players had to endure these side missions to be able to play the story....or pay them £10 for boosters where you didn't have to play parts of the game instead. The gameplay is also dumbed-down to the extremes with x-ray vision, no fall damage, being able to scale huge climbs in seconds and also really basic combat. Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla are basically the same game with slightly different skins. The developers could've easily reduced the game by two thirds, removed any level gating or given the player a choice on XP scaling. There are so many users who are being alienated by this game design who would love to play it and experience DLC in the future but they are being held back by the exhausting and nauseating gameplay format. If Ubisoft scrapped boosters and scaled the games down then they would be much better experiences. The series is basically a live service and Ubisoft last week confirmed that this is how it will be going forward for all future AC titles so expect more of the same. It's a shame because AC2 and Black Flag were superb titles. The series is perfect for players who don't mind the same monotonous grind every day for two months straight but for me, the AC games have become some of the most painful out there and the devs don't seem to understand that bigger doesn't always mean better. Aside from any narrative, what you see in these games within the first 20 minutes is what you get throughout.
  8. Didn't expect to see this today
  9. I think Spurs and Arsenal may very well struggle this year - they still have good players capable of achieving a top 7 but there really doesn't seem to be any significant signings or any real confidence in the management. Both clubs have a lot of deadwood and don't have the resources to make any sweeping changes. With either not being involved in the flagship European competitions (UEFA Conference League doesn't count) is actually a major blow to income because it affects how much you can spend in-line with the fair play rules. That's why Arsenal are still paying minuscule monthly fees and bank loans on players bought 2 years ago because they cannot pay in a lump sum, not because they can't afford it but because they will break the rules because their income is too low. Hopefully Spurs will be able to find some of their old form now they are away from Jose but I'm not sure if Nuno is the answer. Teams like Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool are just so far ahead it's ridiculous and others like Leicester have a far better foundation and financial basis to work from going forward. Europa League should be the target for both Arsenal and Spurs because it'll at least provide that crucial bit of income - neither club will want to end up middle of the road like Burnley, Wolves or Brighton.
  10. The issue is not that sport has returned but the way in which it was implemented. Nobody is more excited to be able to return to football than me - just bought my season ticket the other day, however the way it was introduced and manged during the Euro's in the UK was reckless and horrendous in which cases could rise to the extent, club football could suffer going into the winter months. Going from 20,000 fans at Wembley (FA Cup) to 65,000 within a month when cases were rising massively is not encouraging plus the FA and government buckled into accepting UEFA's executive threat-turned blackmail. There were also less than 200 police at Wembley on Sunday and over 100,000 in the Brent vicinity. Also entertainment industries like nightclubs have been completely shafted since the pandemic began with zero talks on how to move forward safely. Now that we've literally given up the ghost, it will give people free reign to do what they like and they will lean towards things like the Euros and Wimbledon as an example of how relaxed things became when money and the country were at the fore. A more controlled and well-thought unlock would've been far better so we don't negate the efforts gone into the vaccine and put ourselves at greater risk of new deadlier strains. The amount of contradictory information has not helped. Even today we've heard things like ''freedom day will remain on the 19th but possibly not much will change as it is now'' and ''masks are not required but they are required sometimes''.
  11. Sadly a substantial amount of the public are a bunch of disrespectful bastards without a care in the world. If they don't care about themselves then they wont about others. This was evident even under lockdown and they are part of the reason why this has prolonged. The Euro 2020 football alone has proven how disgraceful the conduct of some people are and that the authorities don't have the resources to be able to cope. People will be in party mode making up for lost time going at it on a bigger scale and more frequently. There's been so many protests and rule breakages from celebs or people in power that any form of caution is seemingly out of the window for many and people who do want to take it easy and be careful will probably struggle to ever get comfortable in public or do things they used to enjoy. No matter how slowly this current lifting moves, everything will go out of the window and then half of people will be going around normal and others will be isolating themselves for protection. There is too much mixed messaging, too many areas in extreme risk and all control of the virus is gone. One expert saying something and another saying summat else totally contradictory doesn't help either. They may as well just open up everything now because one week isn't going to make much of a difference - if anything it's gonna be worse next week when they are due to lift restrictions. I barely saw any masks today even in my train station and a few shops so that is a taste of things to come and I'm willing to bet people still wearing masks will be made to feel alienated or regarded as paranoid. Things should have been relaxed gradually over a period of 4 months - we may still have had issues but it's better than doing in one hit. People then wouldn't have needed to break the rules so much, there could've been more strategy for major events and the public would have been more inclined to go berserk at every possible opportunity. I fear for vulnerable people who may end up getting forced to return to normal even when it's not safe for them. Just because the government says it's safe doesn't mean it is and that's the tragedy.
  12. This should be an interesting watch I remember when I was in secondary school and he was filming at one of the local pubs down the road from me. I didn’t know who he was at the time but he caused quite a buzz around and even bought a pasty from our corner shop apparently!

They didn't volunteer which surprised me - Southgate made the choices which was a bemusing strategy and this was done before the game also. I would've preferred if the decision was made at full time and with the experienced big boys stepping up rather than leaving 3 youngsters including Saka to shoulder the enormous responsibility. Despite his record, I would've kept Henderson on and made him take one. Grealish was another strong contender and then Shaw/Walker could've easily offered. Sancho and Rashford hadn't even kicked a ball since the half time warm up so chucking them in at the deep end was always risky - I would've put them on at the start of ET to win the game or not at all. Gutted for Saka as he's had a great tournament and was unlucky not to start - now he's going to have this hanging but I hope he can put it behind him and continue to grow.

Italy deservedly win on penalties. Game management disaster from Southgate when it truly mattered most and a pathetic showing on penalties from the subs especially Rashford and Sancho - it should be a default miss if you stutter your run up like that. Another cup final failure from Kane who spent the whole game jogging chasing the ball aimlessly. Subs should’ve been brought on much sooner especially when Italy began to relax in ET. Would’ve given them a feel for the ball too. We started well but it soon went into Croatia 2.0 and instead of doing something about it, we absorbed so much for literally 60 minutes and we’re lucky to take it as far as we did. Great tournament but another disappointment and we allowed it to happen.

  16. They've gone against science every single time for the key decisions and have failed each time and they are doing it again here. I think they've just given up and more and more people are cutting corners. There was no way there were 60,000 at Wembley the other night - I'd estimate 75,000 and there wasn't a mask in sight anywhere in the vicinity around Wembley for instance. There is no many grey area and contradictory decisions being made with isolation requirements and quarantine that it's beyond confusing. What seems to be concrete is you can't go nightclubbing with a 30 people limit even if everyone passes a test but you can go to watch football whereby executives in suits are magically exempt from local restrictions because of blackmail essentially. Israel are already reporting weakening protection of Pfizer and they aren't dealing with developing strains like we are. What will probably happen is Covid will be in such high circulation, a greater strain will break the current vaccines and we'll be back to square one. Japan have already banned crowds for the Olympics at the 11th hour and their country is far more disciplined than in the UK and most of Europe. The complacency is unreal really and I'm taking no chances.

    Euro 2020

Last night was tense but we made it! Started off well for the first 15 but then Denmark really pressed and began to dominate in midfield. They deservedly took the lead but luckily we managed to get back into the game after getting behind them a couple of times out of nothing. We got a good foothold on the game after the break but couldn't quite carve out anything. I was a bit surprised that we didn't make many changes especially with Phillips and Sterling looking shattered however Denmark looked collectively exhausted so we left these key players on and it paid off. Penalty looked soft but one angle only shown once actually showed him clearly clipped from behind so it likely was a pen. Kane was fortunate on the rebound though and it was the worst penalty he's ever taken no doubt! Sunday will be very tough especially as they've had an extra days rest but they are beatable. We'll need to score first and do more in front of goal than what Spain did. I would start Sancho over Saka for the only change.
