  4. Deluxe Editions are pure ass and I wish Bungie would keep it simple instead of using tiresome and overused terminologies to flog their convoluted content model. Sell the main expansion, sell the battle pass and then flog the extra shite separately so there is no confusion or nasty surprises when someone finds out they can't play a portion of it because they didn't buy the Super Deluxe Expansion Year X Seasonal Deluxe Edition when all they bought was the Deluxe Edition Expansion Season Pass. If they are alienating longstanding players then god help newcomers trying to get their heads around what is available and what isn't. All these years later and Bungie still haven't got an ideal publication framework in place.

  6. Some interesting developments today following on from just what I was saying just last night FIFA says it never liked EA anyway, will see other publishers now | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Football's governing body is scrambling to decide what its future in games looks like.
  7. You can free jump in this one! Seems a very early build but very Dark Souls 3-like which is great!
  8. I'm really hoping this situation will put other developers on notice and encourage them to move into the genre - EA and Konami have had it so easy for nearly two decades now and the licencing aspect has really alienated any prospective developers that they just wouldn't dare risk it let alone being able to afford it. With EFootball being absolute ass and EA getting pounded by FIFA in the ass for money then it could open some doors for others. UFL is one and maybe we'll see more. Also the current situation may force EA to rethink their potential F2P model especially if FIFA wants a billion every 4 years for the privilege and a slice of every microtransation made. Doesn't sound like they could afford to make the game go free and if they did, they'd need to generate $250m minimum on a F2P game and their MTX's could be shredded between FIFA, the digital store fronts and taxes.
  9. Anyone familiar with this developer and their range of Steam games? These are primarily logic-based titles revolving around coding and complex input/output-based puzzles. I'm sure a few have heard of SpaceChem which was one of their games from 10 years ago but since then they have developed a nice little range of popular and deeply rewarding titles. My personal favourite and the most accessible title is Opus Magnum which is a chemistry-themed title where you build compounds through placed inputs using machines. There is also the much harder but very interesting Shenzhen I/O - an assembly language themed game where you code circuits and program devices One of their newer titles is EXAPUNKS which is an open-ended hacking game where you program registers and nodes And SpaceChem which was one of their earlier works Plus there's other titles like TIS-100, MOLEK-SYNTEZ and the absolutely fantastic Infinifactory which is a first person 3D puzzle game. The other great thing about these games is being able to optimise your solution - for example, you may have completed the set task but with tweaking, you may be able to reduce the amount of cycles, parts needed or lines of code. These games each come with a detailed manual which has to be read but they are amazing to learn and satisfying to play. Definitely worth a look if you're interesting in something different.
  10. Embarrassing really - if they didn't have 3 years allegendly invested in this, it probably would've been cancelled on the quiet. Ghost Recon Frontline beta test delayed one day before it was set to start | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Ubisoft didn't say why testing has been pushed back, but strong negative reaction to the game could be a reason.
  11. Another absolute shitshow from Activision Blizzard
  12. ..Demi Lovato claims that using the word 'aliens' is offensive to extra terrestrial beings Demi Lovato Says Calling Extraterrestrials 'Aliens' Is Offensive WWW.ROLLINGSTONE.COM Demi Lovato has said referring to extraterrestrials as “aliens” is derogatory. I am literally speechless and to think she was actually being serious! Earlier this year she tried to get a local LA family business of 35+ years closed down because it sold healthy food options which deeply offended her as 'fatphobic' despite not taking into account that such foods were also catering towards diabetic people and not just ones looking for a healthier lifestyle. Let's not forget this was a woman that used to buy illegal substances from minors on street corners.. I think her historic drug usage or the extreme wokeness has really got to her head now. Normally influential celebrities like this are a danger to their fans and sow huge divides in society but this one was beyond comical that not even her most die-hard fans can defend. I think it's only a matter of time she gets hospitalised sadly!
  13. FIFA Reportedly Wants To Charge EA $1 Billion Every Four Years For Name - IGN WWW.IGN.COM We now have a clue to why EA Sports is considering changing the name of FIFA, its giant football franchise.
  14. This also runs on the same engine as eFootball so it would be hilarious if this upstages it in any way!
  15. Call of Duty finally is getting an anti-cheat - too bad it sits at kernel level. On the plus side, cheating will be significantly impacted but users will ultimately have to give Activision and China a backdoor to your PC the same way Tencent has with Valorant. Supposedly this one will terminate outside of the game whereas Riot's one is active at all times. Not sure if I believe Activision here but if they are caught lying then there would be hell to pay. Quite a few COD users wont care or even understand the controversy surrounding this whilst others will be willing to lay down, bend the knee and do anything they wish to have a cheat-free experience. Cheating is still rising at epidemic levels on console and there's no quick fix for that but at least something has finally been on on PC but the cost is so severe, some users may never touch the game again. Funny how it's only companies owned or linked to China that seem to adopt this.... Call of Duty is getting kernel level anti-cheat | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Activision has revealed details of the major anti-cheat upgrade it teased yesterday.

  17. For the past six or so years, I have lost interest in the latest COD game by Christmas. Some of them haven't even been all that bad but I've just not had the desire or motivation to continue playing. These games usually get discounted 30-40% just weeks after release anyway now as Activision make a pre-xmas sales push so there's not much incentive to jump in day one. The 'pre-season' phase as they call it is also supposed to be the most enjoyable part of the game because when the seasons start then it's usually the die hard tryhards left and the monetisation aspect is also turned up to 11. It's not like the old days where it was just casual fun at any time of the year. Also the underlying gameplay systems like SBMM subtly impact matches and can have a big impact on how people feel about their experience - it's what turned me off Cold War last year and it all became incredibly exhausting rather than enjoyable. Having played the beta, this game is worth nowhere near full price although it does promise quite a bit of content at launch although it doesn't look all that great - quantity over quality essentially. This probably would have been a great package back in 2016 or so. I'd see how things are come the end of November but there doesn't seem to be much appeal from the wider community this time out.
  18. I think some users were a bit oblivious to the bugs whilst others were playing the gameplay so safe, they didn't encounter ones that stemmed from aggressive play or utilising the mechanics to the max. I did watch a video where the creator said that they didn't notice any bugs yet from the footage, you could clearly see issues left, right and centre. Performance and rendering problems which were dependent upon the users specs and settings also seemed vary significantly and added to the visual bug aspect.
  19. Looks like they'll be out in December for a whopping £70/$70 whilst the old versions are being removed from their respective digital stores. I was expecting £34.99 at a push - even the PS4 one is £60. Mafia's Definitive edition which included a brand new game cost £49.99 tops. This is another ridiculous cash grab so the gameplay actually better have a significant upgrade to even remotely justify it. GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition will cost $70, physical versions coming December – report WWW.VG247.COM Rockstar may be ready to push Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition as a premium title, and boxed version may be coming in December.
  20. This game less than a month ago was due to be released in 12 days time too. I don't even see the point of us playing a beta seeing that it was an older build and the state it was in wont do them any favours no matter how much they play it down. Based on DICE's consistent track record for broken betas that lead into even more broken and shitty releases, this game wont be in a fit state until March 2022. It beggars belief we couldn't even view the map so either basic features are broken or they are being implemented at the 11th hour. Biggest worry is that no more footage will be provided before release and then everyone gets lumbered with a catastrophic mess at launch yet again!
  21. Looks like EA will be moving away from the FIFA branding (albeit retaining the licence) and instead calling their future title EA Sports FC which is expected to be a free to play platform similar to that eFootball shite and the upcoming UFL. Whilst I don't think EA's football games will be too affected by the change in terms of them persisting with the proven but limited Frostbite Engine, the model will be hugely different but I'm sure they'll be more in-tune to the plan than what Konami were. It's quite sad to see what football games have become and it's only gonna get worse https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2021-10-11-ea-trademarks-ea-sports-fc-as-it-mulls-ditching-fifa-licence
  22. None of the games have online play but each one comes with a magnificent standalone story. Vice City and San Andreas will definitely go down in videogame folklore.
