I grabbed the game for £9 on CDKeys and have just finished it in 5 hours 20 minutes. It's definitely very watered-down compared to RE2 and even things from the original have been omitted but I did still had a lot of fun. The horror aspect takes more of a backseat and the action comes thick and fast plus you aren't bogged down by too many traditional puzzles. I did like the pacing overall and the combat was fairly enjoyable.
The locations are very linear though - typically in RE games, areas branch out and you can unlock doors to find shortcuts which makes backtracking easier but here, the areas were fairly simple and there were lots of blocked off places and inaccessible doors. Not a huge issue as everything seemed very focused and you didn't have to worry about running backwards or around the same location(s)
They definitely could've done more especially as this is a mainline standalone game and I wouldn't dream of paying full price for it - £12-20 is fair for a one-time playthrough. Not interested in any extras or doing a new run. I enjoyed the story and characters too and definitely glad I got round to playing it although it's nowhere near as good as RE2 remake.
I remember all the leaks back in 2018 that said Modern Warfare 2 was being remastered and the campaign was completed. The rumours dried up for a couple of years and then the game came out of nowhere. The big thing was that the leaked pre-release trailer stated it was produced in 2018 which proved that the rumours a couple of years previous were 100% correct and didn't stem out of nowhere with people just looking for clicks.
I firmly believe the game is 100% finished and Activision are merely looking for an appropriate window to slot it in where it doesn't detract from CW or Warzone
I reckon they'll hold back until they see how Battlefield 6 is shaping up. If COD 2021 is absolute crap then they may throw it under the bus and hope for the best regardless. If it has some potential then they may delay and focus on Cold War Warzone in the meantime and let BF6 have its time. MW2 MP Remastered is probably good to go and has been for a long time so they may open the doors to that in a couple of months once Warzone gets stale again and for before Battlefield hits.
Had Battlefield 6 not existed, they probably would've bundled WW2 Vanguard and MW2 Remastered like how MWR bailed out Infinite Warfare. Activision have certainly got some tactical decisions to make these next few months..
My understanding is they want Warzone to be based on the current Call of Duty at that time so if the next game is based in WW2, it will revert to that eventually. It sounds like they'd rather use new content rather than bring back old stuff for this mode to keep it remaining fresh. Bit risky if people hate the new map or game it's built on, but drive space is probably another factor as you say and they probably just want to keep things as simple as possible.
Possible we wont even see a new COD this year
If it's as bad as what's been mooted, then it's for the best and I think most people will be happy for it not to release at all.
The new map is apparently Verdansk 84 and the OG one has been removed completely and will likely never return.
Warzone's branding has been changed into Black Ops Cold War now.
Played the final demo and I find it rather stupid that Capcom made these timed demos with a timer on top. Couldn't they have just made them one playthough per account? I felt like I was rushed the whole time and couldn't explore or appreciate what I was playing.
The castle area is awesome and the visuals are truly mind-blowing but the combat really lacks punch and feels sloppy. I will definitely get this but probably not at release even with a great pre-order deal from Argos.
New map is out and already there is a game-breaking glitch that can get you under the map to cheat
What an absolute shambles! I don't think there has ever been a time when Warzone hasn't been riddled with severe glitching or cheaters.
EA are publishing this one so I'm sure they will plenty of microtransactions attached. They'll probably to F1 Ultimate team where you get things like engines in loot boxes i.e a bronze pack turns out to be a Ford Fiesta engine😂
Agree with Phil though, they barely change - that is partly a testament to how well they did 5 years ago and how limited the scope is to improve but it's getting to feel a bit stagnant now. EA may shake it up a bit off the track but not in a good way.
Yep, we're at the endemic stage now but it will never truly go away so we will need to focus our attention towards prevention, off-the-shelf medication, test and trace and rapid testing for events. The big threat is any variants which may break through existing vaccines and then we'd be back to square one. Gotta be prepared this time and not be afraid to take extreme action. It's already taken far too long to put India on the red list for instance. A big positive is the huge decline in hospital admissions and deaths which means thing are working and it's manageable right now.
Does it work with a wired connection and are you charging it with the unit turned on or in rest mode?
See if it is possible to reinstall the firmware of the controller.
