  1. This could be brilliant function http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/01/07/sony-reveals-its-streaming-service-playstation-now If they have a strong catalogue of classics; the PS4 will be a great hub for gaming old and new. Good stuff Sony!
  2. Can't he break the record in a more glamourous place than Hawick? I hear Luton is nice this time of year
  3. I so wish I was alive in that era of football! All the greats like him and Pele. Can't see the likes of Shola Ameobi being that iconic down the line! Eusebio averaged almost a goal a game in around 750 matches which is just staggering. Back then, defenders were much harder to play against and actually tackled hard. An amazing achievement.
  4. I swear the DayZ community on Steam is more immature and stupid than the idiots that plague the official Call of Duty one. There is about 16,500 threads on the board and every time a new one is upped; you refresh and it's down to page 4. About 2,000 were regarding the issues from the other day and all practically the same! Needs moderation desperately. Here's my favourite comments from two days ago (copy and pasted+all English speaking users....apparently!): 'My dayz no worken. joned server got boted amd now dont play. can i get moneys bak plz' 'plad Dayz earlier n server crashed. wot do i do n is this game broke now n do i get money cos of this problem i am havin help me pls' 'I want a refund for DayZ because the finished product is a complete joke. I know this is the alpha but I paid my twenty quid and it doesn't work properly. Reply if you want to protest and we can set up a group and if we get even a hundred members interested; they have to refund us' This is why I'm so happy to have found ForeverGaming; a nicely sized forum with a great community, very tidy and well-maintained. Trying to get through to the DayZ forum that the standalone is a alpha and not a finished product is proving an impossible task.
  5. Bollocks! Someone clearly jizzed in your face mid-game
  6. I am not a huge fan of Operation Locker but I sure as hell want to see more snow maps in future DLC.
  7. Oh I did - I died and respawned as a man! He was black but that's good enough for me! Update seems to have fixed the woes from yesterday which is great. There was unbelievable panic setting in on the DayZ Steam community forum - every other message posted yesterday was the practically the same and most people were requesting refunds!
  8. I think you may have already broken a world record in this thread alone Dylan; Most grammatical errors ever recorded in single sentences
  9. I can't wait to see how this VR headset adapts into the gaming world. It's quite hard to see the benefits of it without actually trying it yourself but there is a few vids out there that demonstrate roughly how it works in relation to the gamer's control. Could turn out to be a massive fad but it has done incredibly well to be working its way into the gaming market. Looks like it may be tricky to master but could change gaming as a whole and give it an entirely new slant. Here it is in action on Euro Truck Simulator 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCYq-suTluo Playing Skyrim http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qktvBFPz7oY Riding rollercoaster http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoQ0OXJCbaE Outlast http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNgNHDR8qWI Hopefully it wont fuck your eyes up either! It will be demoed at CES starting tomorrow also.
  10. Torchlight 2 is very popular and whenever there is a Steam Sale; it always goes down to £3.74 from £14.99. I've got Diablo 3 on its way to me on Wednesday for £20 so I think i'll give that a crack and if I don't get into that, i will give PoE a go.
  11. Only 2000? They may as well scrap the playlist. I had a feeling it would be unpopular
  12. The new update has caused problems; more lag on quite an epic scale and many players getting booted from servers due to some authentication nonsense! I got in a good hours play until the issues really kicked off. Hope they fix this asap!
  13. I must be the only PC gamer in the world without Diablo III in my collection! I was interested in the game for ages but the release was dreadful and I'm not sure of the state of play at present either. I am looking for a decent RPG of this type and was wondering if anyone is familiar with F2P Path of Exile? It looks absolutely marvelous for a freebie and very polished when compared with D3. I am truly stumped!
  14. I would NOT advise this purely for the huge health risks that many gamers are oblivious to. Around 25,000 people in the UK die annually of Deep Vein Thrombosis and more and more of those are actually young people who have died as a result of inactivity caused by long gaming sessions. Some of these incidents have occurred from just a long weekend of gaming time. If I was attempting a world record gaming session; my first port of call would not be some Guinness rep but insuring a full medical team is in place. This may seem like a harmless marathon of a hobby but I'd be extremely vigilant of the risks unlike some of the people who have attempted this already. Good luck but don't rush into rash decisions.
  15. Forest hammer West Ham 5-0! The Hammers had quite a depleted squad out but that is a dreadful result and the overall performance was terrible. I'd say they're certs to go down
  16. The fixed loadouts are different to COD and each one differs significantly not just in relation to weapons but to the players abilities. Too many players opt purely for Assault which can be problematic against infantry on major modes such as Conquest. It's ideal for TDM games but you've really got to mix it up when playing the likes of Conquest Large which can be tough long-drawn battles where tanks and air support is prominent and effective against foot soldiers. It's hard to gauge who is playing what roles when you have 31 other players on your team but most BF players play honestly, tactically and have a good grasp of what the objective is and how to play it. You gotta chose a squad role that you think would be beneficial to you and the team. Even if a few players are going walkabouts or not playing effectively; you usually have enough firepower on your team to readdress the balance. Just don't get too bogged down defensively and lose spawn points or flags else it's takes a mammoth effort to get a grip on the match.
  17. Conquest + Operation Locker + 64 Players = Hell on earth! Paracel Storm is an incredible spectacle with interchanging weather and excellent effects. The China Rising maps are a bit of a disappointment though but I cannot wait for the revamped Second Assault DLC!
  18. This is what I love about the PC version; just join a non-French server!
  19. Conquest is pretty good also - basically a large scale version of Domination. This mode is exceptional with 64 players. TDM is really broken in BF4 with really a really bad spawn system and watered-down maps. I would take this mode with a pinch of salt in regards to the overall quality of BF4 and the modes. Once you play on the PS4; you'll really notice the significant step up.
  20. Oh and Aston Villa losing 2-1 at home to Sheffield United and Rochdale beating Leeds 2-0!
  21. FA Cup is looking tasty so far; Blackburn drew 1-1 at home to Man City. Holders Wigan currently 3-3 with MK Dons. Macclesfield 1-1 with Sheff Wed. Grimsby beating Huddersfield 2-1. Kidderminster holding Peterborough. Newcastle 1-2 down at home to Cardiff. Southend 3-1 up against Millwall and we have Arsenal v Spurs to look forward to...
  22. Bollocks to Heavy Duty mode; just bring back the Barebones playlist and make objective play the main source of XP. Also bring back Hardpoint and Headquarters; two heavily objective-focused modes. Oh wait; IW couldn't give a toss about playing the bloody objective so that's probably why these two popular modes were removed! Tossers
  23. COD 4 was brilliant; the game was fresh and players didn't grasp what effect K/D would have on society and self-esteem. Players just wanted to play and kill. The fixed killstreaks meant you had to work to unlock them and the maps didn't inspire camping. The general pacing on matches were fast, frantic and fun without the politics we see in today's Call of Duty games. I absolutely loved MW2 but I can't help but feel that game created the stereotypical 'noob' that is all too common today. The good K/D image, YouTube self-obsessiveness and the general way people have adapted to others's game styles has had a huge detrimental effect on quality and the winning mentality. IW don't help themselves taking away the elements that was salvaging the franchise; rewarding players for playing the objective. You take this element away and all players have is killwhoring. So many players just don't want to win matches either. Kudos to Treyarch for attempting to change the way players play and their attitudes - Black Ops 2 worked exceptionally well and rewarded players for playing any objective and in some instances more than a few kills. The games flowed better and there was a real competitive edge but Infinity Ward have stripped all of that in Ghosts and have reignited everything that was tactically intolerable in Modern Warfare 2. Ghosts is a fucking mess of a game. It has lots of excellent points but they have really taken it back to the stone-age of pure shite player styles and it seems they actively encourage it.
