  1. As usual, TV is utter wank this time of the year in the UK with repeats of The Bourne Identity (excellent film tho) and The Fugitive with perhaps The Sound of Music thrown in every other day for a fortnight. What's your favourite movies to watch this time of the year? For me; Home Alone 1&2 were utterly brilliant and bring back many memories. I am also partial to Die Hard this time of year but it's already been on 3 nights on the trot last week!
  2. I have it unlocked and will probably give it a bash on the Operation Locker map. Is the UMP any good also? I've just unlocked that and it was pretty good on COD but this is Battlefield we're talking about...
  3. I was looking forward to watching MOTD and I tried to avoid seeing the score but when I caught a glimpse at it after 75 minutes; I just followed the game online and it seemed really dour! Good excuse not to bother watching the highlights now. Last time I did that it was the Man Utd v Chelsea game and that was also 0-0 and bloody abysmal!
  4. Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition just £9.99 now! Superb deal
  5. Timothy Sherwood appointed Spurs boss Didn't see that coming but at least it's a British manager at the helm
  6. Here's the patch notes : New Features: Heavy Duty mode. 5 squad points granted to each soldier at the initial 5 levels of progression. New loadouts added to Infected mode. Weapon Balance: Reduction in the flinch benefit of the Focus perk for Sniper Rifles. ADS speed reductions and further adjustments to Sniper Rifle settings. Additional Fixes: Field Order adds 100xp on pickup. Fix for unlimited perks. Invisible exploit fix. Sod all about spawns!
  7. If you buy the alpha now at £20 on Steam; I think that entitles you to the full game. If you have a dedicated interest in the game, it may be a good investment to get it now while it's cheap(ish) as the full game may retail at a typical £35-40 mark. Problem is, once the beta is out, so is The Division so I can partly see why they are cashing now but if you do get it in alpha state; I don't think you have to pay for anything ever again related to the game.
  8. Arma 3 £23.99 Splinter Cell Blacklist £14.99
  9. Assuming you're not talking about it already instead of a Medieval 'Call of Duty'; why not play Chivalry Medieval Warfare http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0kTAW-Un9o In the Steam sale for £6.45 from £18.99!
  10. Heavy Duty is live with TDM, DOM and Blitz being part of the HD Moshpit. Will be interesting to see thoughts on how noticeable the health increase is. If it's anything like Painkiller in MW2, Ghosts can get stuffed like my turkey this Christmas!
  11. Aaaaarrggh I am still so tempted to get the alpha but at £20 I gotta be sensible plus it's Steam sale season and I might end up blowing a small fortune and then regretting it when I'm skint for new year! Can't believe the beta is still 12 months away also.
  12. Garry's mod down to £1.49 Battlefield 2 is £3.49 and much better than BF4 lol!
  13. I think a biannual release would rejuvenate some level of interest despite leaving a gaping hole in Activision's accounts each year lol! I think they have completely overdone it now though and the annual roll-out has taken its toll on the franchise and left some gamers pretty sick of the series. I wouldn't mind Treyarch and Infinity Ward moving in a different direction away from COD. They have both proved they can deliver a fantastic MP experience year after year that is astonishingly successful in what is a very competitive industry. If they can utilise their expertise in a brand new IP, they may have something that could be as dominant in the new generation. They should exploit the future possibilities and power of the new consoles and deliver a massively engrossing experience rather than a bog-standard FPS with a tiresome format.
  14. Well said Tommy! I think another reason as to why I am tired of Call of Duty at this present time is down to the aggressive marketing the game delivers in the release build up. I've been pretty oblivious to the Ghosts promotion during the year but that didn't help me avoid watching countless videos and reading a wealth of articles about the game. By the time I bought the game; nothing felt a surprise and compounded by the lack on innovation in Ghosts in relation to other COD games, I felt like I'd seen it all before. Black Ops 2 was very heavy in its promotion and even when I was playing that in the first week; I'd practically seen all there was too see in a couple of days. Gaming sites and YouTube is buzzing with Call of Duty non-stop and if it isn't the current game; it's about the next one and it's always in your face. I guess I'm just finding the whole charade exhausting now!
  15. Thanks. Sounds like I'll have to play pretty damn cautiously then!
  16. Cheers Jordie! DayZ has felt like a bit of a hiking simulator so far but now I am getting more in tune with the basics, it's becoming really intriguing. A couple of quickies: If you leave a server, does your gear get retained if you join another and if you die, do you lose everything? Cheers!
  17. Further reductions: The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition £3.74 Elder Scrolls Oblivion Complete £3.74 Max Payne 3 £2.99 Dragon Age Origins £3.74 Tomb Raider 2013 £5.99
  18. Good win for Spurs at Southampton today. Two goals from Adebayor too! I forgot that man even existed
  19. Call of Duty: Ghosts for me is a great game but at present I have been feeling less motivated to play it to the extent I feel my personal interest in the franchise is diminished to a new low. I don't envisage picking it up anytime soon either. I have been playing COD since the original but Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the ultimate multiplayer experience that kicked off my love-affair of the games for years to come. It's been a bumpy ride mostly with issues ranging from the technical side to gameplay aspects and the general hit and miss booming community that they game has attained over the years but through the highs and lows I have always participated in each annual title with a significant level of interest and throughout the duration of the game. Despite Ghosts's hiccups on PC since release; I still think it's a fine game and this would have been excellent a couple of years ago but I just feel that franchise doesn't wow me any more. I wasn't overly excited through the build up and despite the final product ticking most of the boxes; I don't think the concept grabs me as much as it used to which leaves me feeling ultimately tired of Call of Duty it seems. Spectre posted a breakdown list of what was new and what was essentially recycled in Ghosts and I was taken aback by the sheer lack of innovation on show and how many things had been rehashed but presented in a deceptive way to seem new and original. So much that Treyarch offered in Black Ops 2 was also not taken forward into Ghosts which disappointed me as well. This did make me see the game differently and the more I played since; the less interested I felt with the game. I didn't think Ghosts looked quite the advance that I was expecting perhaps still being tied to what is now the old generation of consoles but even a next-gen only Call of Duty would struggle to grab me which leaves me a bored with the typical Call of Duty design and multiplayer architecture. I've even found more time to play Brokenfield 4 which is extremely worrying! As we move onwards and upwards with the new consoles; I am focusing on the future titles such as Watch Dogs, Destiny, The Division, Titanfall and the likes of MGSV. Ambition, scale and large MP titles have me intrigued as to what is just around the corner. Call of Duty seems to be from a bygone era in my opinion that I can't see me playing in the future with massive MMO-styled titles of an exceptional quality like The Division or Destiny offer. For COD to come into the generation side by side such games; it will have to offer a complete overhaul of everything along with clear ambition and a radical new overview. The heart of me doesn't want them to drift too far away from the familiar concept but my head wants a massive and scaleable change to keep up with other unique titles on show. What are your general thoughts about the series now when compared to years ago? A welcome break from the game is perhaps what I need but not even the future DLC may be enough to keep me inspired. We shall see..
  20. I've been killed by one shot to the shin with a pistol before! The inconsistencies in Call of Duty particularly from IW will never cease to amaze me
  21. I think snipers are being nerfed because the anti-quickscope army is waffling on about the ability to QS despite IW originally insinuating that it wasn't possible. Although in my opinion you can still scope pretty quickly in tight situations which are common in COD; I don't think the sniping aspect has been as generous as it has been in the likes of MW2 and in particular MW3. I personally don't use snipers but I am a bit miffed to see IW bowing down to the prolific moaners who don't have much of a case in this game. I assumed IW were satisfied with their mechanics on release but having to nerf the type when it is quite tricky to execute anyway is a bit of a surprise move. I don't think we'll ever have a community that can be happy in terms of sniping. I think IW in this instance should have just retained what they originally published and just let the community of whingers just get on with it. They can't win and nor can the community. I hate being killed by snipers particularly ones that don't play the objective even if they are on the other team but I appreciate the skill required to kill in what is a very pacey game in Ghosts and I'd rather be killed that way as opposed to a bad bullet detection or lag fused CCQ shoot-out.
  22. Solid displays from Liverpool and Man City mean they leapfrog Arsenal into first and 2nd respectively. Defeat to Chelsea on Monday and Arsenal could be back in their familiar 4th spot This could be the most open title battle in years
  23. Deus Ex Human Revolution Directors Cut has been reduced further to just £3.24 X-Com Enemy Unknown £7.49 Sleeping Dogs £3.99 AOE 2 HD £3.74 The Wolf Among Us £12.72
  24. Has anyone got any hints and tips to help me get started? Even a decent YouTube video or something would be much appreciated! Thanks all
  25. With the sniper nerf; you'll probably need 3 headshots to get a kill lol!
