  1. According to Charlieintel; the map ISN'T a remake of Favela. I don't mind the franchise bringing back old maps if they are good maps and if they are re-imagined in a good state like Firing Range and Summit but the maps in Ghosts from IW including the remake of Scrapyard just lacked character and had a horrible colour palate. It's not like it's the old maps designed by the current IW either - it's like they're scrapping for leftovers of the past when their side of the COD franchise was good. It's all a bit desperate for me. If they designed maps on par with Bayview in each pack; they might be able to make up for the core maps in design and presentation.
  2. unfortunately not but Delia in my eyes is a complete dick so the two go hand in hand in the picture! Share among Ipswich fans accordingly if you please
  3. Apparently the leaked video is from a 6 month old build and isn't any way reflective of the final product. It's just a mock/concept trailer with pre-alpha gameplay. Be good to see some top quality footage of the game in its Hardline format at E3 assuming it doesn't all get leaked before
  4. I would have loved this... ...25 years ago It's a fantastic picture though and I wish I had those artistic skills. I can barely write these days
  5. You will either learn to forgive the driving and just get used of it or never play the game again. I'm plodding along and have just accepted it. The game makes up for it in many other areas thankfully.
  6. After the quite frankly terrible Devastation map pack; I am completely and utterly done with Ghosts. I may hop on Counterstrike GO and download one of the 20,000 free maps which will probably be better than this stinking turd of garbage
  7. I think this is a mistake integrating this type of game into the Battlefield series. It doesn't represent the name or what the series is about. I understand the publicity and the Battlefield trademark is an instant seller and will drum up interest and intrigue much quicker than just branding the game as a Frostbite 3 title but I don't want Battlefield to be derailed by any spin-offs. Hardline looks decent it seems but I can't see this having the scope or scale of your standard Battlefield title. The trailer didn't really explain how large the player counts were and how the modes truly operate minus the overall premise. I believe EA acquired Police Warfare (a kickstarter project 2 years ago) overturned it to Visceral and now have branded it Battlefield to gain the traffic.
  8. There is quite a bit of driving but many missions are foot based on the ground. So far I've had a few car chases which have been extremely sloppy and frustrating. Exploring on foot and taking the train is pretty good to get away from the bad car physics though and there is lots of activity to do from the ground in the vibrant city. The car collisions are more of an issue than the actual handling I've found. I did what Brede done and raised the bridge when it was loaded with cars and they came plummeting down and caused a huge vertical pile up which was quite funny. I also raised the bollards when a limo was over them and it popped up in the air which was also amusing. The crashes you can cause when fucking with the traffic lights are mental but for some reason the collisions when you're driving are just too bouncy and unnatural. I'm quite liking some of the missions so far though and they make up for a few of the negatives. Another mild irritation reminds me of Far Cry 3 - you have to hack the CTOS towers in certain areas so you can profile people and hack the environment. This is just as tedious as the radio towers in FC3 where you did it to reveal the map. Some of the CTOS towers can be tricky at times but it just feels a bit bland. The hacking where you have to channel the signals to unlock nodes is actually a bloody good feature and makes up for the one-button hack system that you get when targeting phones and environmental features.
  9. I believe it's on the wall from an alternative angle. I have a picture of the one she has
  10. Norwich fucking City of course!
  11. The general statistic is that 1 in 4 people worldwide at some stage of their life will suffer from mental illness but there in lots of varying types which range from minor and low risk to themselves all the way to severe and a risk to themselves and others. The most common would be depression and most people of the 25% that suffer from mental health problems suffer from some form of depression. The broadness of the illness can also range to manic depression which is commonly known as Bipolar which also has many types due to the array of symptoms. The more dangerous ones such as schizophrenia and general psychosis provide grave risk that has to be manged with medication. The one type of mental illness that I think is as rife as depression and prominent in young people today is personality disorders. Once again there is huge scope for symptoms in this group ranging from neurological disorders ranging from misconceptions of the world combined with psychosis traits whereby the person has violent traits which can be manifested in fantasies of the mind or in real life where harm is caused to others. Most mental illnesses along with personality disorders seem to affect people in their teens or early adulthood and can be caused by social, environmental, stress and traumatic events. These can also develop into the more severe illnesses of the mind including schizophrenia and bipolar later. With such a broad spectrum of illness types and symptoms and mentally ill essentially being grouped as the same along with cut-backs and a lack of resources in the community plus misdiagnosis and waiting lists; I think it's a shit situation. The lack of awareness of mental health issues particularly in the young leaves them isolated and clueless at what to do. Parents probably think their kid is having a strop or it's just part of growing up but there is a real stigma and lack of education surrounding the problem. Elliott Rodger was receiving help for his issues but even being in the system and recognised as having a problem; he still wasn't managed correctly. The lack of funding just leaves people who are ill and others vulnerable. People need care tailored to their problems particularity if they are still residing in the community and could pose a threat. In the UK we have Community Mental Health Teams for people who suffer serious illness or who aren't hospitlaised but have been sectioned but they are stretched and it's not fair on anyone. People die but questions are always asked later of prevention - hardly ever are lessons learned. Oxford University have been working on research for many many years stating that many illnesses can drastically shorten lifespan. Most mentally ill people who have the more moderate to severe illnesses die on average 20 years before the national average in the UK. With the amount of young people being sectioned or living at home managed by the CMHT; I can see the average death age plummeting in the UK in the future. The government needs to do more for everyone's sake. They bang on about smoking and drinking being bad in the long run but mental health problems still seems to be under the radar.
  12. Battlefield Hardline gameplay trailer!
  13. I was pissing about last night with traffic lights and raising bollards to cause crashes and some of the collisions in those with the AI are spectacular but as soon as I'M driving and colliding with other cars; I just bounce off them without causing any damage or flying off in a weird direction. The driving physics are inconsistent and very sloppy. I still find that not being able to use a gun from your car just makes the car chases annoying. You have to evade them by manipulating bridges, lights and bollards or essentially get out the car and take down about 12 AI enemies which is bloody hard. I lost $10,000 playing poker last night which fucked me off too
  14. Official site is up http://www.battlefield.com/hardline
  15. Very good read. Thanks for posting!
  16. That's very true of Call of Duty but I think BF4 and Hardline could run well together and give gamers a vast choice of two very different games with similar core mechanics. By Christmas, you've seen it all in a COD game with only the DLC to retain any lingering longevity. You've unlocked all the guns, attachments and perks and the quick-fire matches of 6v6 just means a continuous cycle of the same old stuff. I usually tire of the current COD game long before summer as the hype for the next one grows as the leaks reveal. Battlefield 4 has over 130 weapons to unlock, tonnes of assignments, medals and matches on a huge scale on a variety of modes. There is so much meat and depth to this game, it is just massive and despite the problems; the infrastructure will keep players engaged for a very long time. I spent a couple of years on BF3 and I'll probably do the same with 4 as there is still so much to do and see. The backbone of this game is immense and that's why I think people will still maintain interest even if there is a sister game out at the same time. BF4 accompanied by Hardline as an alternative sounds pretty good.
  17. How did you get your girlfriend refunded?
  18. I'm really excited for this. It's a frostbite 3 Battlefield game with a spin. There is enough meat in BF4 to last two years plus having this on the side will be an interesting alternative. Hopefully it will be a different take on the classic Battlefield formula. I couldn't have Battlefield 4,5,6 annually as it would just feel like a ripoff like DLC masked as a full game but there seems to be enough diversity in this style to warrant a lot of interest.
  19. From what I saw of Elliott Rodger; it seems his wealthy parents spoiled him throughout his life and that he expected everything to go his way and be on a plate for him. His attitudes to women and life in general was worrying. I have grave concern for the youth of today and society in general. Parents that are happy seeing their kids playing on Xbox for 6 hours a night, no fresh air, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, One Direction and Chris Brown as role models and this image that they have to maintain on social networks of being beautiful in all selfies and having as many friends as possible. I'd hate to be under 21 these days. The social pressures it seems is just too much now. Even guys are under pressure having perfect hair, skin, muscles and clothes. If someone doesn't fit the expectations; they get slated or bitched about by others. Also this fanboy culture we see in music and videgames has lead to people losing the plot, making death threats and literally going 'mental'. It's a far cry from the easy days I used to know. I think society is on the brink of collapse and I think metal illness particularly in young people will go through the roof with all the daily social pressures it seems.
  20. Yeah it's pretty bad most of the time. 90% of the maps are crap, 90% of the guns aren't worth using, 90% of the perks are pointless, 90% of the players are wankers 90% of the time, 90% of the modes are under-populated. Knack is better
  21. Oi, what about FIFA 14 and that American netball game?
  22. Pochettino named as Spurs manager..
  23. This is the new Battlefield game made by Visceral and NOT DICE thankfully
