  1. I'll probably buy a physical copy next week and if I get sick of it or it's just not my cuppa tea, I'll trade it in and probably get £40-odd back. In the past I've bought new releases cheap off of eBay and traded them in for even more money, so I probably wont mind taking a punt with this one.
  2. Another patch released Update 1.08 for Modern Warfare now live - Patch Notes | Charlie INTEL CHARLIEINTEL.COM Infinity Ward has released the latest patch update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare across platforms overnight on November 12. The new...
  3. Released Thursday 14th November. Looks like they've done an amazing job on this remaster plus all previous DLC and new content is included. 25% off if you own the newly named 2013 edition also. Definitely one of my favourite strategy games of all time!
  4. Game runs on 20hz servers and is riddled with missing frames and lag at times. A lot of deaths you will feel like you’re getting melted in one hit despite the killcam showing you get hit numerous times without even flinching. Sometimes you will also ply people with numerous bullets and they don’t die or even sustain much damage as seen in he killcam if you die. There is also an issue with ghost bullets right now. Lag comp is definitely at play plus the ping numbers are all nowhere near accurate and largely fake.
  5. Don't mind although I hope they don't add too many gimmicky weapons and reduce it to Treyarch's level of stupidity. Come December when Activision flips the greed switch, we'll probably see a host of new melee weapons and stuff to buy just like what they did with MWR.
  6. Anyone tried that Krovnik Farm yet? Probably the best map in the game for me. It's not too big plus it has quite a narrow structure so matches feel more like an offensive tug of war rather than a unstructured mess of players dotted all over the place. There's no tall buildings so getting sniped is less of a concern and players seem more focused on objectives as games flow really well. You can certainly get a better read on the action and the battle for C is really entertaining too. I'd say this is fairly close to being a smaller type of Battlefield map and they've done a good job with this one.
  7. It's definitely a marmite game and not for everybody. Some of the negative reviews were pretty unfair and a couple had practically written it off before even playing it. My two concerns are getting burned out long before the end and some janky walking animations at times which could ruin the immersion. I also hate the Monster Energy product placement. Dunno whether to pick this up now, try and nab it for £15 in January or just wait for the PC version. I'll either get this or Disco Elysium - both games are pretty unique and it'll be nice to try one before Christmas.
  8. Because practically all other FPS including historic COD ones have a central viewpoint not dictated by angles. The crosshair is your eyes essentially. If you can see an enemy looking straight at them then logic would dictate that they can see you in the same way particularly when lag is not a factor. Even if you only see 66% of them and they can see 100% of you, if both players crosshairs are lined up irrespective of the 34% cover, the crosshair which should be the origin of bullets should line up on the enemy regardless of any phantom angles of the gun. Black Ops 4 also had similar issues with people bunnyhopping round corners. Bullets are typically fired from the crosshair (your head) and not the gun regardless of animations. Even on the old COD games, things like bullet pathing stemmed from the head and not the gun itself irrespective of the first person animation and 3rd person interpretation. Imgur IMGUR.COM Post with 1 views. Whatever they've done to Modern Warfare, it's not entirely on-centre and the true bullet pathing on this engine has to be analysed based on how the viewpoint works. Also the ghost bullets is a huge issue too and there's no excuse with that.
  9. I haven't encountered this in any other FPS outside of lag and missing frames. A viewing angle should never cause a player to be completely invisible plus having a slanted angle of any kind from a POV standpoint whether it is intentional of a technical flaw is not ideal. It is something that will have to be examined by the community or explained further by the devs. Add this to missing frames and any lag online and some players wont stand a chance in certain situations. Competitive matches will be dictated purely by a lopsided play of angles rather than standard reaction-based gunplay. The right into left perspective has an advantage it seems - if this is deliberate by the devs then they have to offer a left handed option or change hands on the fly feature. Invisible enemies in this game is definitely more noticeable than any other FPS I've played.
  10. Finally there is proof that hit registration and camera angles are borked. I thought it was just down to the shitty netcode of 20hz servers, missing frames and general connections but when it still exists in an offline environment, there is definitely a major underlying issue built into the core framework that needs to be fixed. Doesn't look like eSport teams are too pleased either and rightly so - $25m to playing in an out of sync LAN game...
  11. I have a feeling this will be a live service. Microtransactions are planned too. I'll keep my eyes on it but I'm not feeling it like I thought I would.
  12. It's really weird because this game has so many positives from the engine, animations and visuals yet it lets itself down in an astonishing amount of ways. I actually think this game has more issues than any other Call of Duty from a conceptual, design and technical standpoint yet it looks and performs fantastic which gives it almost an illusion of quality that is not reflected in the core gameplay. Personally I am not surprised this game has issues - it was made by the team responsible for Ghosts and Infinite Warfare along with studio members who by their own admission have been out of the COD picture for a decade. There is still clearly a lot of deadwood at the studio. Ironically, if this game was called Ghosts 2 it would be ridiculed and judging by the rumours, this was what it was originally supposed to be. I don't think I have ever been so conflicted with a game because it clearly has potential but I don't know if it'll ever get passed that poor pool of maps, dreadful 20hz servers and ultimately messy gameplay. Maybe this is the start of better things to come in the franchise as the foundation is there with the new engine but with Activision's aggressive monetisation coming in December and a lot of damage already done, this could go the same way as all the others in this gen and once again, all eyes on next year. I honestly think this game began as Ghosts 2, the old IW staff came back and then tried to do an MW2 on it and what we've ultimately got is the worst aspects of both games.

That's why I'm glad they are pretty OP in MW. Actually I wouldn't say they were OP, they work as intended from close range. If some poor guy keeps walking into my path and he gets slammed in one shot then that's fair just like if you're sniped running around in the open. In recent COD games, they were pretty much redundant even on small maps because they were nerfed so much even before release. Now they are viable once again and people just can't cope against them.
  14. Nice to see Care Packages being viable again! The streaks are really fun in this game plus you don't have to worry too much about securing the drop safely, with the maps being fairly large and the spawns sitting deep. I think I've had every big killstreak from Juggernaut, Gunship, Chopper, Support Helo and White Phosphorous more than once plus if you're rolling hardline, you can get two or 3 packages per game. You will get a lot of Personal Radars, UAV's, Counters and airstrikes, but there are so many powerful ones available, at worst, you will get something half decent in a game at the very least.
  15. I'd prefer 3v3 but on slightly bigger maps like Shoothouse. 2v2 for me feels more of a gimmick and a waste opportunity that the devs are now committed to supporting, whereas 3v3 would open the doors to some highly strategic and tense competitive play - this wouldn't work on the current 2v2 maps but Shoothouse is an ideal size for this kinda thing. 2v2 has its moments I agree but all in all, it's highly limited I found.
  16. Bethesda at it again LOL!

I'm still pissing people off in CQC so it's all good! I got a neat triple kill in slow mo whilst the victory blue screen was up and the animations looked epic. I'm kinda glad they nerfed it but I don't want them to take the fun out of using wacky guns like that by making them so weak, they are practically worthless to use.
  18. I bet the good ones are either monetized or unlocked behind broken challenges. What I find silly is that when you earn a card or emote, it doesn't even tell you what it was for! The whole menu interface needs a major overhaul because basic or important information is missing and things I don't need to know or care about is in my face i.e whoopee I've unlocked a rare calling card but please tell me how and why I unlocked it. It's also strange that the scoreboard doesn't contain important info either - TDM only tracks kills and assists but not deaths, Kill Confirmed tracks kills and deaths but not tags and objective modes never track the objective counts. You only get given this information at the end.
  19. It's a decent addition although 3v3 would've been better IMO.
  20. It's a pretty demanding game - the PS4 version even had to downgrade just to accommodate the online portion in the end, whereas the PC version is being pushed massively in terms of visual and performance options. The initial optimisation on PC hasn't been great but I think that'll be fixed in no time with Rockstar and Nvidia doing the business.
  21. Played a couple of games on the new ground war farm map and it's actually pretty good. Makes a huge change not having to worry about being sniped from multiple building rooftops. I wish they would do away with the tanks and just keep infantry transport vehicles but other than that, it's a much better map with more controlled and less frantic action. Doesn't seem as big as the other two particularly the City map. I'm really annoyed that some of the challenges are still broken and one of my missions (Warrior Code) that doesn't even track anymore, now de-selects itself after every match and I have to re-enable it in the non-existent hope that it suddenly starts recording. I'm still getting plenty of 725 and claymore kills and I haven't had enough chance to really assess the impact of the other changes but I'd say footsteps area quieter.
  22. The Shoothouse map is basically the equivalent of Nuketown with lots of corners. Will try the ground war map later but I'm not holding out much hope.
  23. Update gone live Update 1.07 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare now live - Patch Notes | Charlie INTEL CHARLIEINTEL.COM Infinity Ward has released the latest patch update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The patch is...
