I downloaded a pirated version of the original (that I own anyway) earlier, put a widescreen and texture mod on and bingo, it works a dream, has all the content and there's no Battlenet either so Activision can't remove shit. Currently 0.8 on Metacritic and I'm here wondering how it's got such a good score?😎

No games or a single update in 40 days now and people are pissed. Serves them right for buying into such shite.

They are apparently rejecting eligible refunds and banning users who are pointing out that Blizzard are in violation of some international laws in doing so. Not only that but they've also pissed original Warcraft III Reign of Chaos owners off by bringing that in-line with Reforged meaning that game is now as restricted and watered down.

I did some additional research last night and it's beyond disappointing so much so, I'd actually brand this a scam and that's no exaggeration. They've basically doubled the price of the original, slapped on a HD texture pack and left it in beta for months under the illusion that the game was actually being developed. It seems they've made more of an effort closing all loopholes in regards to 3rd party modding and locking all content down as owned rather than actually developing the product they initially pitched. A few Blizzard defenders are saying veterans wanted it to retain the original feel so they didn't bother making changes but remasters of this nature usually have an internal option like Halo MCC where you can switch between the remaster and original. Just a blinded excuse really. It honestly wouldn't surprise me in a few months if we discover the HD textures used were stolen from Nexus! I'm getting tired of being disappointed by Blizzard.

I found a solution which I have used in a similar situation from a previous experience;- next time you start up with the problematic monitor, open up a window, throw the monitor out of said window (preferably upstairs) and then the issue should be resolved. Fair do's the monitor is now permanently broken but at least the issue wont happen again. Hope this helps Dave!

It seems Blizzard have unsurprisingly screwed people over as per usual. A lot of things promised in the 'remaster' are not present in the final game with the only noticeable change being HD textures. Reworked cutscenes, animations, audio, UI and other elements weren't improved despite a long development time and beta cycle. They have also pulled the plug on modding because they are scared someone will rip off their IP and go on to create a money-spinning masterpiece aka DOTA. No online ranked play either. This is basically the old game with a texture mod that has been stripped of features and is restricted. £24.99 for this is now laughable - even £14.99 would be pushing it. Nothing more than a cash grab of the original rebranded in such a limited way it wont cost Blizzard money to operate. They can shove Diablo 4 right up their arses now.

I watched Heat again last night - a long movie but a spectacular one with one of the strongest casts imaginable. Some great action and a lot of the movie inspired GTA V.

Twitch have now lost Activision MLG eSports to YouTube meaning the likes of COD, Hearthstone and Overwatch eSports will be streamed live for free on YouTube. I wouldn't say this is a huge loss for Twitch as Activision have struggled to garner a pretty big competitive presence in the eSport arena but it is a huge name gone with some pretty big brands and they may also encourage a few of their partners (aka cocksuckers) to follow suit. -
Even MW2 10 years later pisses on this COD shite we have today. Just goes to show how influential Vince Zampella and Jason West were.

Apparently the latest update has a major bug where users are prompted after updating if they want to reset their stats. If you select 'yes', your stats are wiped. If you select 'no', you can't play the game. The only way around this is to reset your console. It just beggars belief really how such bugs can occur and why updates aren't extensively tested. You wont see this in the likes of Overwatch, CSGO, Siege and other major multiplayer games made with the utmost care in their execution. IW are a shambles.

I remember when COD used to have great maps and then classic maps would be added as a bonus along with more new maps that were also quality. Now the maps seem to be so bad, people are begging for recycled content and now IW have done the unthinkable by literally fucking up iconic maps! After what they did to Crash, it kinda proves they just don't have a clue. I have yet to play on Shipment but that looks like a disaster remake. I like how they moved away from strict 3 lane by design maps in Modern Warfare but what they produced isn't what I was expecting. They've basically started off where they finished with Ghosts. Treyarch will be hitting us with Black Ops 5 soon where every map will play the same and then they'll go and bring back all their classics once again like Firing Range, Nuketown and Summit. For all the bad things in COD this gen from the microtransactions, supply drops and advanced movement; maps has been a relentless problem across all the developers and I can't remember the last time (since BO2) where we had a truly iconic original map.
