I probably didn't start playing it properly until 18 months had passed. The initial netcode plus the invisible barrier glitches were tragic. Thankfully they really turned it around - had it launched as stable as it ended, it probably would have caused huge damage to the likes of Ghosts, Advanced Warfare and even going into Black Ops 3. Large conquest matches were epic fun as were the battles on Locker and Metro.
Battlefield 4 is probably way better than any COD game for the past 8 years but people buy into names rather than games so COD will always be more popular especially with its cosmetic format. COD getting a foothold in the PS3/360 genre was a pretty significant thing and it wasn't until the MW3 days did Battlefield really get noticed on console and even then it struggled because people were so used of COD.
A modern Battlefield in the vein of BF4 now would absolutely wreck the MP of Modern Warfare and take a lot of players out of Warzone. Having said all this though, Battlefield 1 sold over 25m units which is way more than any other COD since MW2 prior to MW2019 - BFV tanked the franchise though.
I'm probably going to pick it up Friday but I am very iffy about aspects of this game because I am fully aware of the leaks which were part of the review embargo so reviewers weren't allowed to talk about that portion of the game or even reflect it in the score.
Every review is also quite misleading for this reason. Imagine being a food critic, going into a restaurant and then being told you can only review the starter and not the main course or desert and you are hamstrung because any complaints from the overall experience that can't be mentioned or then be reflected in the score.
I have never seen reviewers hamstrung so much in what they can say, score or show and pivotal parts of the game which were leaked that they have heavily censored with false DMCA's makes me a bit skeptical. The game looks totally amazing but there is a lot more to this product than meets the eye and people can only see that if they look into the leaks or purchase the game. A lot can also be said who they gave review copies too.
I'm definitely looking forward to trying this but I have a feeling user reviews might tell a different story.
I deliberately swerved most of it and tuned in at 8pm just to see this. They were running a bit late and from what I saw, it looked as boring as hell and the format was dreadful!
I bought Battlefield 3 Premium yesterday and refunded it. Never had any issues with Battlelog previous but I just couldn't get the game to run as it was stuck on 'initializing' even trying to play the campaign. It's only 40% positive on Steam and many users are reporting issues with this. Battlelog was optimised for the now defunct Internet Explorer and although I could play BF4 through Origin using Chrome without issue, I gave up trying to work through BF3 yesterday on Steam. I am not going through the rigmarole of removing my AV, changing browser, reinstalling everything and disabling my firewall. Refund was the easiest fix!
I'm pretty sure the cartridges go on until they run out completely. If you use all the colour, it just says something like only black available when printing or colour unavailable.
Reviews are in and this is probably the only one that I trust and have mentioned negatives and how the embargo works. Every other one is sounds awfully scripted
I use this one Dave - you can't go wrong with HP and it's only £50.

Thankfully Origin doesn't seem to be very intrusive when paired with Steam - you only have to ever login once and from then on, each time you launch an EA title from your Steam library, it just does a quick authentication and then the game runs instantly. You don't ever have to login again or go through the store or Origin library. Way better than the likes of uPlay and Rockstar Social Club but as a standalone, I probably hate Origin the most.
At this rate they'd be better off milking Warzone for another 15 months and just releasing BO'5' as they would have in 2021. It was tight enough with them taking over Sledgehammer but with Corona on top, it feels like it's gonna be a half-baked product. Warzone has only been out a few months so it would be daft to move players away from that seemingly so soon.
They could probably whip up MW2 MP Remastered too.

Xbox One S learned a valuable lesson with digital-only so disc version all the way. There is no logical reason to get a digital system over the disc one especially if the latter does everything the digital one does.
Quite an interesting and varied selection of games but only a few really stood out but not enough to force me to buy a PS5 immediately. Demon Souls, new HZD and a couple others looked decent but many did seem the usual new gen type of weird titles.
Way more encouraging than the Xbox range but both consoles will need some big AAA titles on top else it’ll just be a repeat of this gen to start with.
This was inevitable
