  1. 3/31/2021 Workout Boxing Thoughts: Cardio week instead of rest week, I guess lol. For those of you who don't know, I don't box with gloves. I box with only wraps. There is a minimal amount of cushion on my knuckles. Why? Because if you get into a fight on the street, no one is waiting for you to get gloves on. Wraps gives me just enough protection to get through a session. When I used to train in the Philippines, there were times where we went bare knuckle to develop the knuckle calluses. Yes, I had many days of bloody knuckles. Yes, my trainer in the Philippines would have me do bag work on a canvas bag and bare knuckles. Yes, he waited until the end to "clean" my ripped skin with a spray bottle of alcohol then bandaged my hands. Today was decent. I like days where we focus a lot on technique and less on random (to me) exercises. A bunch of ladder work for footwork and movement. He made me wear 5lb ankle weights the whole session because he forgot I had them on, to which I responded to him with, "I'm fat enough... and you want me to add more weight?". I already know my muscles will be sore later. Food wise... I've been pretty decent on my food this month. Nothing outrageously out of bounds or excessive that was not in my overall food plan. I have added whey to my morning shakes on the mornings I work out. It has definitely stopped the soreness that was happening on the second day. So yay. However, I have also been stuck on the scale in terms of weight. I shouldn't fret, but of course, I am. Because I want the number to go down. I want to see progress on that damn scale. Because it's the only way I can actually notice progress. I will never see if I look less fat. I will never notice it when I look in the mirror. I could be down 4 sizes in women's clothes and still not see it. I could fit into my white pants that I haven't worn in 10 years (when I didn't work out) and still not see it. Anyway... overall, I am making the progress that matters. I'll focus a bit more on cardio, so I don't die when doing Murph sometime this year lol.
  2. @Kemp210 is in for the 6th person. Roster for this Thursday: @Baabcat @Venom @Teenwolf25 @IPSWICH HIGASHI @Ajay @Kemp210
  3. Not YouTube... but what is TikTok but a new version for the younger generation with a shorter attention span... @TurboR56Mini requested that I post this. 😄 https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMeymyNCE/
  4. I completely adore Randall Park... and how MCU easily ties everyone into other shows. It's like they learned from their mistakes with Agents of Shield.
  5. How did it go? I hate running, but I am also considering starting training for Murph... which involves running lol. And, Trail running is at least scenic lol.
  6. A bit jealous that you can move back to Canada. I really hope things get better here in the US, but I have been wanting to leave the US for a while. The past 4 years have made it a nightmare. I'm in the NYC area, and I've taken the same precautions here as I do when I'm outside NYC, which is bringing my US passport everywhere to make sure that people don't think I'm an "illegal"... or when some random ass "Karen" screams at me to show "my papers". Sorry to hear that your wife feels unsafe, especially in the Bay Area. But, completely understandable. I have no clue how my cousins are dealing with it, but I don't think they go out by themselves anymore. Hope you have a smooth transition back to Canada!
  7. I'm not a fan of DC movies lately.. the Dark Knight trilogy was fantastic.. but seems anything after that was... I dunno. I guess I just want it all to be on the same page like how MCU is doing it. That said, the next Suicide Squad might make me actually want to watch the first one. This looks like so much fun. Because the actor who plays Polka Dot man is just... disturbingly hilarious.
  8. I'm partial to Steelseries. Good quality for the price.
  9. 3/29/2021 Workout Row House Signature Class Thoughts: I hate hate these types of gym classes. Anything that resembles a Spin class can go pound sand. So... why? Because they were doing a sweepstakes promotion of 3 people will win a free 1-year unlimited membership. And, I thought, "Eh... why not. It will be good for rest days if I win." Obviously, I ended up signing up for 14 classes. Because I also need active rest days and cardio. This wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be. No, I did not make it through the whole session without a break. But, considering how terrible my endurance is to begin with, I was oddly shocked that I lasted 15 minutes without stopping. The light workouts in-between the rowing sets was a nice way to get a breather in. I'll use the sessions as my active rest. With hopes that maybe it will help with my endurance in the long run. Total meters rowed: 5,324m.
  10. US Agent wasn't a straight villain in the comics. He was just this... not so welcomed "hero", which, again, from the writer's perspective, was the point. He was to be somewhat the opposite of Steve Rogers. Urban (Steve) vs. Rural (John Walker). Ethics (Steve) vs. Duties (John). Etc. They butt heads when Steve comes back, but then they work together to take down Red Skull. John goes to lead the West Coast Avengers, Steve helms the originals. (Think of like how we ended up with a Cyclops X-Men team and a Wolverine X-Men team) With the rumors going that MCU is figuring out ways to add in Mutants... they will need to appropriately expand the MCU beyond the original Avengers. This seems to be a first step in doing that... if they keep John Walker around.
  11. @TurboR56Mini has 2 of these (because he felt it was too "inconvenient" to bring it from his PS5 to his gaming PC...) --> Arctis Pro Wireless Gaming Headset STEELSERIES.COM Arctis Pro Wireless features dual-wireless technology with lag-free 2.4G wireless lossless audio and Bluetooth mobile audio, combined with hi-res capable speaker drivers and a ClearCast mic. I have this one (he can correct me if I'm wrong. I didn't pick it out) --> Arctis 1 Wireless Gaming Headset STEELSERIES.COM The Arctis 1 Wireless is an all-platform gaming headset that doubles as your on-the-go headphones, so you can enjoy the award-winning wireless performance of Arctis anywhere.
  12. Arctis SteelSeries... @TurboR56Mini can talk your eat off on how much he loves them. We have 3 in our house. 2 for him. 1 for me.
  13. We watched the episode last night. I'm really trying to be okay with US Agent/John Walker... but there's just something about the "mantle" being easily passed to him that doesn't sit right. And, that's the point, right? We're supposed to immediately dislike him because we don't know his story, and it seems like it was handed to him on a silver platter. Is this going to be a Jean Grey/Madeline Pryor thing? Now, I had to refresh my memory a bit on US Agent (I was more X-Men than Captain America/Avengers), but he (from a writer's perspective) wasn't created to happily mesh with everyone. He was supposed to sort of be an antagonist in his own complicated way. That's a story worth telling. I'm curious to see if his role will extend beyond Falcon & Winter Soldier. What character arc will we get with him? Are we going to have various sets of Avengers like how we ended up with two different X-Men teams.. then other teams like X-Force... The racism aspect is going to be a thread in this story. You can't not touch it with Sam. You can't not discuss it blatantly with today's climate and the history of Marvel and Stan Lee. And, maybe it's my old age, but I do find myself getting more emotional about this when such topics are not sugar-coated, as Marvel generally discusses bigotry but not blatantly. It's why there's X-Men and such. Bucky's line, his truth in why he's hurt about Falcon's actions, that was top notch. It's true. It makes sense. It shows how people's own perceptions about themselves are tied to others, no matter how strong or independent they seem. I find it interesting when people say that Marvel writing is lazy. Because, it's not. It takes a level of empathy and understanding to go for something more than good vs. bad... and that sometimes our biggest villains are our own issues we need to work on. Civil War was about doubt within a team and how it did fracture them completely. This phase of Marvel seems to be about processing grief in our own way... and how do we deal with the aftermath of our actions. Zemo... hah.. oh Zemo... again, consequences of our actions. Are they going to tie this into the next Black Panther? T'Challa left him alive when he didn't need to. But, again, Zemo was dealing with grief in his own way. I hope Sam and Bucky don't lose their way completely and break him out... but if they need to, I hope they don't lose him by doing something absolutely stupid.

@Davidgraves30 is taking @Kemp210 spot. 1 more opening. Which I think is going to @GazzaGarratt?
  16. until

Shall we try to kill the swamp boss? Or save it for next weekend?

Might make more sense for me to pull @TurboR56Mini out of the house today then.. so we can game all day tomorrow.
  18. 3/27/2021 Workout Boxing Thoughts: What workout absolutely crushes any thought that maybe you started gaining some endurance? Basically, anything in the martial arts/fighting realm. I haven't been boxing since... Christmas time? I think. But, luckily, I haven't forgotten the combos we were working on. I just have terrible stamina. Again, my goal in any fight is to finish it in 2 - 3 moves, then run the f*ck away if I need to haha. My boxing coach has me working on some other non-boxing movements. Wants me to train like his other boxers, with the whole workout. Ehhh... At least I know that every punch I threw was power-packed enough to make him need a break from my fists. So, while he was needing a break from my fists hitting the pads, I was needing a break to breathe! I also went to my chiropractor after. He goes to the same HIIT gym as I do. We were talking about the workouts, and he told me to anticipate more running coming up. I jokingly said, "Is this to get us ready for Murph?" He said, "You know... never thought about it.. but it probably is." FML. For those who don't know, the "Hero" WODs are tributes to fallen soldiers. ‘Murph’ is named after Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. (Every so often, a new WOD is created in honor of fallen heroes. My favorite one being the 'Hotshot 19', which I think I almost cried just trying to finish. Boxes have raised over $336,000 for the families of the 19 fallen firefighters.) More info on the background of the 'Murph' WOD. So, maybe I'll start training for it. Maybe I'll fully stick to my fitness goals for a full year for once Haha.. we'll see.

Lol.. What... 7AM? Ummmmmmmmm... Let's see. Again, not like I'm not up to begin with.
  20. "I went to pet it with my sword." FTFY.
  21. Wait. What? @Ajay slacked off too? Tsk tsk. Super thrilled about the increase in roster! Yay to our captains @Baabcat and @Venom for being great teachers and having an infinite amount of patience and being super welcoming! Congrats @Mazzer66 for the first raid completion! Hope to see you on!
  22. Let's not kill the gentle giants, eh? We can't breed them. I assume we will be able to. They are like lovable giant dogs... with no purpose... who seem to eat a shit ton of cloudberries.
  23. Tonight's Raid Team: @Baabcat @Venom @Davidgraves30 @Kemp210 @Ajay @TurboR56Mini
  24. Yup. No worries. Got it filled.
