So, if I was you all, I would work in order of this for which mods to check out and explore Vanilla Minecraft (this means the core game) Metallurgy Project e/ Natura/ Harvestcraft all others Protip: If you see a fruit tree, instead of chopping it down. Leave it, and harvest fruit when it grows for free food Also, here is a guide for Metallurgy

I will remove the top option as soon as I am able. You can also click a players name, and it will zoom in on them. In this image, I flew directly west of spawn. I am at the worlds edge on that side. So you can see how much is left to generate. The Pre-Render is happening for the main world right now. I will check the space needed for it, and then look at doing the other worlds. (if we have the space) There is a chat box at the bottom of the screen in the lower left corner, you can talk with folks as I mentioned

    Dynmap

    Dynmap, is an IP based map for servers. IT allows you to open a web page, and see a map of the entire discovered world in the game. Since I already pre-generated the world, it will show everything. It also allows players to chat while not being in the game as well. In order to save server space, I would only render a "Flat" map, but there are options for a "surface" map as well which does a 3/4 down view to show height. Those files are pretty big though. The files have been uploaded, and I have already spoken to the host about showing this, so I have the info I need to move forward with it all. However this is just a test, I want to make sure that putting it in game doesn't eat our HD space.
  7. I branch mine in resource worlds, but strip mine in the main world. Typically because I will use the resources for building, as well as the cleared out space.

  9. Several things about our "Resource world" I will reset it once every 1-2 months. DO NOT BREAK THE FLOWERS AROUND THE PORTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Set a waypoint as soon as you spawn into the world. The world is small, only 1000x1000. This saves us diskspace and what not. but you can still get lost DO NOT BREAK THE FLOWERS AROUND THE PORTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Feel Free to Demolish everything. EXCPT THE PORTAL FLOWERS If you break the portal flowers, you run the risk of closing the portal. Then I get to fix it, by creating a new portal to a different area, and trying to reconnect the two... I'll probably just end up leaving you there to sort out life in the forest All of this also includes the flowers near the portal in the main world.

  14. Running costs food, yes it burns more than walking. Waypoints do NOT teleport. I am unable to change this. However what they do is show you where something is, and how far away you are from it. Teleport commands that work /home - teleports you to your home /sethome - creates home point /back - teleports you to the location you recently teleported from /spawn - teleports you to the server spawn for that dimension /warp {name} - warps you to the location you named, you set hte names, you can have 3 /setwarp {name} - works like set home

    On a whim, I decided to Fill in every chunk on the server. Until this process is finished expect Lag spikes I am also looking at running Dynmap on the server. The problem with running this is the amount of space it takes to show all of the data. Dynmap is HUGE, it saves every 16x16 chunk as a PNG file, and it eats HD space like candy. I need to play around with the settings some more and see if we can get around that somehow. I will say this though, in 4 years of using Dynmap, I have never once gotten it to not be a bitch about HD space

    I made this guy, and one other to protect the villagers at the spawn. He got out... I don't know how, as he wasn't hurt, but if you see him, he will kill mobs for you. No need to attack him He might try to give you a flower
  18. Creating waterworld is the easiest thing in this game. Just set the water height on world creation to around 90 or so And there are skins with eye patches

    I was asked to look into a mod that changes fishing in the game to be more than the PITA that it is. How do you all feel about this? With so many of us, I think having a vote or at least majority opinion saying yea or nay, should be how we decide things
  21. What I have seen others do is put a main station at spawn, and then do main lines to other stations, and then branch lines to spots near homes It was sort of what I had in mind for the main road as well. I build the main 4 roads, and then you all connect to them however you want
  22. Cool, once I finish spawn The best ones I have found are always well below the surface, down around level 20 or so. just need all the coordinates
