  1. Thinking about this some more. I am going to back out entirely. I will advise and put together some tutorials, but I don't want to muddy the waters at all here. I already have spawn, and the NS/ EW road to do. If you all want it underground, then cool, if you want it above ground, then also cool. I would advise caution here as with the modpack being set around a fantasy vibe, above ground rails might break that feel.
  2. I can remove the labels on the Dynmap , or shuffle them around to new locations. Actually, have people tested it out?
  3. Not only are they milking Skyrim again for like the 6th E3 in a row, they're also pushing a soft pay for mod system. Nothing really exciting announced, and anything that was exciting got all its airs pumped out by the fact that they're once again pushing "pay for mods". I can see why they pushed the conference so late into the PST. Anyone watching that shit probably was more disappointed than excited. Also this part of the creationclub annoyed me https://creationclub.bethesda.net/en If I’m accepted to be a Creator, what can I create and what is the dev process? Creators are required to submit documentation pitches which go through an approval process. All content must be new and original. Once a concept is approved, a development schedule with Alpha, Beta and Release milestones is created. Creations go through our full development pipeline, which Creators participate in. Bethesda Game Studios developers work with Creators to iterate and polish their work along with full QA cycles. The content is fully localized, as well. This ensures compatibility with the original game, official add-ons and achievements. How about fuck you bethesda. If it wasn't for the modded community your last several games wouldn't even be playable. So what if some of those mods are Macho Man dragons, or swords made out of dicks
  4. We don't need that many chests. A few diamond or crystal chests can house everything we need. Maybe 3 or 4 total at most You guys can get together and build anything you want, in any location, that isn't claimed. Go nuts. I will help with advice and what not where I can, but after I was done with the main spawn, I was going to focus on my island, and leave you guys alone.

  7. Other than the backup and Restore, this took all of about 30 minutes. Which was mostly getting the OS onto the new drive. Swapping the HDD was so flippin easy its not even funny.

But after that its going to come down to individuals working their asses off Having done a few projects on this scale in the past, I would say we need to set up a few things before the actual building. We need a resource gathering group. A Mining group to clear out the build areas A design group So there will be overlap here. We will also need a central rail-yard to store all the materials for building supplies of which we will need a massive amount. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- So here are a few things to think about. You will want 2 rails. One for leaving, and one for entering. Monsters will NOT spawn on half slabs or rails. If a monster is hit by a minecart, it will die, but it can also eject the rider from the minecart, and can potentially kill them So I recommend using half slabs as walkways along the rail line. Not to mention proper lighting, fencing, and gating. If you want to double your ore count, we will need Crushers and Furnaces from the Metallurgy mod. Crushers take ore, and grind it into 2 powder, which will then give us 2 ingots http://metallurgy-4.wikia.com/wiki/Crusher Whatever design you all want to do should be voted on and then use for each branchline. For this,I recommend everyone going into creative mode and designing a space like this: wall | walk | rail | space | rail | walk | wall Then post screenshots here Mining for this will take forever. Seriously, even in creative mode this will take weeks. I think we should all stick to survival mode for this though. It will make it feel more like an accomplishment. Lastly, I think we should also try to map this out on the Dynmap. Take a screenshot of it, and then just draw redlines everywhere that we want something. If that makes sense

  12. Just so you all know, you can repair your gear in this game. Either through Repair Talismans Combining 2 near broke items of the same type. You can make an Iron Block to repair items on. You can also put chainmail in a furnace

  14. If we want to start gathering all of that in one place it would be easier when we all start the project Level 20 is good, its just above diamonds, but below most everything else.

So, if I was you all, I would work in order of this for which mods to check out and explore Vanilla Minecraft (this means the core game) Metallurgy Project e/ Natura/ Harvestcraft all others Protip: If you see a fruit tree, instead of chopping it down.     Dynamp is up and I am testing it now http://198.27.83.113:31500/# See in this picture how there are 2 Forever Gaming's? You all want the one at the bottom, not the top one. I will remove the top option as soon as I am able. You can also click a players name, and it will zoom in on them. In this image, I flew directly west of spawn. I am at the worlds edge on that side. So you can see how much is left to generate. The Pre-Render is happening for the main world right now. I will check the space needed for it, and then look at doing the other worlds. (if we have the space) There is a chat box at the bottom of the screen in the lower left corner, you can talk with folks as I mentioned

    Dynmap

    Dynmap, is an IP based map for servers. IT allows you to open a web page, and see a map of the entire discovered world in the game. Since I already pre-generated the world, it will show everything. It also allows players to chat while not being in the game as well. In order to save server space, I would only render a "Flat" map, but there are options for a "surface" map as well which does a 3/4 down view to show height. Those files are pretty big though. The files have been uploaded, and I have already spoken to the host about showing this, so I have the info I need to move forward with it all. However this is just a test, I want to make sure that putting it in game doesn't eat our HD space.
  21. I branch mine in resource worlds, but strip mine in the main world. Typically because I will use the resources for building, as well as the cleared out space.

  23. Several things about our "Resource world" I will reset it once every 1-2 months. DO NOT BREAK THE FLOWERS AROUND THE PORTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't recommend building a base there that you dont' mind losing DO NOT BREAK THE FLOWERS AROUND THE PORTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Set a waypoint as soon as you spawn into the world. The world is small, only 1000x1000. This saves us diskspace and what not. but you can still get lost DO NOT BREAK THE FLOWERS AROUND THE PORTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Feel Free to Demolish everything. EXCPT THE PORTAL FLOWERS If you break the portal flowers, you run the risk of closing the portal. Then I get to fix it, by creating a new portal to a different area, and trying to reconnect the two... I'll probably just end up leaving you there to sort out life in the forest All of this also includes the flowers near the portal in the main world.
