  1. I don’t know if you can do reoccurring on paypal, I couldn’t find an option so just sent £25 to cover a year.
  2. I think it is a safe bet that if you can work from home that you will end up doing so at some point during this outbreak. As the way things have progressed in other countries and are progressing here it's a safer to work on the assumption of when you get it rather than if. For me personally, I'm not too worried about it - I'm in an at risk group but even then it doesn't seem to hit younger people as hard. It's more my family as my parents are in their 70's and I have extended family in their 80's and 90's. I guess all you can do it try to minimise your personal risk and hope for the best. For now there's only 2 confirmed cases near me which in a city of 1.3 million isn't much of a worry yet.
  3. Wut? what IMGUR.COM Post with 2 views. what
  4. So yeah...nope. It suffers the same problems that I dislike about other BR’s. I’ll play if everyone else is but I’d rather stick to the normal game.
  5. It took slightly longer than expected and not as originally planned but video added to the OP for installing and setting up Multi MC for vanilla and modded Minecraft. I think I remembered to cover everything but any questions let me know.
  6. Good call, I've added them to the OP. I never properly written a guide on Multi MC and installing mods so will add that to the OP too but that can wait until tomorrow.
  7. To put all this in one place so I can just link all you fucks to it in the future. Minecraft Verions Minecraft currently has 2 verions Minecraft: Java Edition - this is the OG PC only version. It can only be played by PC with other PC players (don't know about Mac's before Elliott asks.) Minecraft; Otherwise sometimes called Bedrock edition or Better together - this is ALL other platorms - mobile, ps4, xbox one, switch and also the Windows 10 version. As all versions are the same then anyone playing this version has the potential to cross play. To avoid confusion for the rest of this post I shall refert to this as Minecraft:BE. Multiplayer and Cross Play This is where things get annoying and a little complicated but to break it down by what people play on. Before I do though, there's 2 types of mutliplayer servers available. The first is an external server and loads of companies offer this. FG currently rent one fo the modded version of mincreaft, we also have one for Conan too (this is also the one hosting the Bedrock server). The other type is Realms - realms are basically private servers you can rent from Microstroft directly and are available to rent in Minecraft itself. Both external servers and realms are persistent worlds and can be connected to 24/7. So on to the different verions; PC - PC's on Java edition can only connect to Java edition servers. and only other PC master race players can join. PC, if running Windows 10, can play Minecraft:BE and can connect to any server that is hosting Minecraft:BE. Again, anyone else on PC using Minecraft:BE can connect too. PC's can also connect to realms. XBox one and Switch - These are both also running Minecraft:BE though due to limitations put in place by MS and Nintendo they can't connect to external servers. This means if you want to play multiplayers you're limited the standard ones or to rent a realm. PS4 - PS4 is currently running Minecraft:BE however, due to only having been updated to Minectraft:BE recently, there are no servers available. This feature will be added at some point but currently there is no official ETA on when this update will be released. It is presumed by almost everyone that Sony will also follow suit and block access to external servers so multiplayer on ps4 will the same as Xbox and Switch. That is the the standard ones or to rent a realm, Consoles generally - You can invite friends to your world and host multiplayer that way. However this is hosted on your console and so a) comes with the performance limitations of it (cpu power, internet speed etc.) and is also only available while your console is online. How to know which version I have Consoles, mobiles, VR (basically anything but PC) - these should have all updatred to Minecraft:BE automatically. PC: When you buy Minecract on PC you have a choice whether to buy Java Edition or Bedrock Edition so buy the right version. If you already own it and you dont' know - when you log in and see the main screen it should say either "Minecraft Java Edition" or just "Minecraft" at the top. If you bought Java edition before October 18, 2018 you can download the Windows 10 verions (so Minecraft:BE) for free. To claim the free versions - Log into account.mojang.com, and under the “My Games” heading you will find a button to claim your gift code. If you purchased Minecraft: Java Edition after October 19th, 2018, the button will not be there, so if you’re unsure of when you purchased Minecraft: Java Edition, that’s a good way to check. Pressing the button will generate a token and send you to a Microsoft redemption page. Can I play Minecraft - PC Specs For standard / vanilla, these are the specs directly recommend; Minimum Requirements: CPU: Intel Core i3-3210 3.2 GHz / AMD A8-7600 APU 3.1 GHz or equivalent RAM: 4GB GPU (Integrated): Intel HD Graphics 4000 (Ivy Bridge) or AMD Radeon R5 series (Kaveri line) with OpenGL 4.4* GPU (Discrete): Nvidia GeForce 400 Series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series with OpenGL 4.4 HDD: At least 1GB for game core, maps and other files OS: - Windows: Windows 7 and up - macOS: Any 64-bit OS X using 10.9 Maverick or newer - Linux: Any modern 64-bit distributions from 2014 onwards Internet connectivity is required for downloading Minecraft files, afterwards offline play is possible. Recommended Requirements: CPU: Intel Core i5-4690 3.5GHz / AMD A10-7800 APU 3.5 GHz or equivalent RAM: 8GB GPU: GeForce 700 Series or AMD Radeon Rx 200 Series (excluding integrated chipsets) with OpenGL 4.5 HDD: 4GB (SSD is recommended) OS (recommended 64-bit): - Windows: Windows 10 - macOS: macOS 10.12 Sierra - Linux: Any modern distributions from 2014 onwards Modded Minimum Requirements: For modded Minecraft, the specs become a little higher and I'd say the minimum specs for modded are the recommend requirements above. Modded Recommend Requirements CPU: Intel 6th series i5 or i7 / AMD Ryzen RAM: 16Gb GPU: GeForce 900 Series (not sure what AMD equivalent is, will update once known) OS 64-bit - Windows: Windows 10 - macOS: macOS 10.12 Sierra - Linux: Any modern distributions from 2014 onwards Installing and Setting up Multi MC Installing and initial set up of Multi MC 0:00 Setting up a vanilla game 1:00 Installing a mod pack 2:45 Installing custom mods: 5:45 Determing maximum RAM for assign 8:50 So I think that answers everything but any questions post them up.
  8. Crossplay is enabled but; 1 - They only rolled out the better together update on PS4 in December (I think) and so its waiting another update for serevers and realms to be added 2 - On other consoles, and so presumed playstation too, you can only connect to realms. As they do not let you connect to external servers like the one Matry posted for secutiry reasons. So for now we're stuck with it being PC only unless we get a realm but then that still excludes ps4 for now.
  9. tl;dr - There’s 2 versions now - Minecraft: Java Edition (pc only) and Minecraft (pc and everything else and allows crossplay). There’s only 2 versions really - Java and Bedrock. Java edition (now officially called Minecraft Java Edition) was the original pc release and can still be played on pc and only with pc players. Bedrock edition was the version used on consoles and phones but each had their own version. So Minecraft playstation edition, xbox edition, win10 edition etc. All versions of bedrock edition received the better together update and is now known simply as just “Minecraft”. The better together update unified all the versions and allows cross play across all platforms. There’s some criteria but generally yes, if you owned the older versions you should be able to log in to the new version too.
  10. This would suggest otherwise https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Bedrock_Dedicated_Server “Bedrock Dedicated Server allows users to connect except from the Nintendo Switch. Xbox One users can only connect through a LAN connection.” It doesn’t mention ps4 which is the problem I was having as there seems to be little info about ps4 bedrock. As I said happy to give it a go but just raising it might not work for everyone as some people are only playing on console. Edit: Actually, just reading about it the wiki says ps4 has neither servers or realms yet. Though they will be added in a future update.
  11. I’m 99% certain consoles can’t connect to an external bedrock server. I think consoles can only connect to realms rented through Minecraft directly due to security issues. As you’ve set up the server we might as well try it but just posting as we may need to switch to a realm if we want everyone together.
  12. I don’t know about mobile devices, though they’re on the same version as far as I know so maybe. But ps4, xbox1, switch and pc* can all play together. *pc has to be Minecraft Bedrock edition ( officially just called Minecraft). Minecraft Java edition that most pc people are used to is pc only. I’ll do some more reading on a server and what can or can’t be done.
  13. I generally agree with your post Lee, though your first point is a little catch 22. People are only going to arrange events and stuff for games they want to play but there isn’t any big game at the moment so we’re a little fractured. If we find our destiny 1 then I’m sure more events will be created.
  14. Holy posts batman. We already do have an MC Server but as it’s running java modded Minecraft then it isn’t open to consoles. Everyone (pc and consoles) can play together but it needs to be the bedrock edition. Unfortunately though from my brief look around, our current server can’t be converted as consoles only allow certain authorised servers to be used. Though if it is a serious consideration, I’m happy to look in to it more. Alternatively, we could always run a modded and vanilla server side by side. As a vanilla server isn’t that expensive so enough players would make it like £1 month each.
  15. There’s a few things you missed off (racing and minecraft is also a survival game) but I accept they’re outliers too even if I think everyone should play them. I can’t really think of a game off the top of my head the fulfills the criteria but I’ll come back to this thread once I’ve done some thinking.
  16. You just can’t beat the classics @Plumbers Crack Saw The Dead South last night, one of the best gigs I’ve been to in years. Between them sounding so good live and clearly having fun, with their bits of choreography like at 42:40 with the bastard son or synchronised beer drinking at 1:02:20, it was a really enjoyable evening. Plus a cello being worn like a guitar is something a bit unusual. So rather than post any specific songs, here’s a recording of one of their live shows.
  17. The peer pressure 😱 It’s on my radar of games to keep an eye on but feeling poor at the moment after paying off Goodwood so maybe in the future.
  18. Damn son! That is awesome to be recognised and honoured in such a way.
  19. Except it is slightly baffling. The infrastructure is already there for digital games so it can’t be more expensive to distribute digitally. So it’s purely a profit thing? But that doesn’t make sense either as disc based media is so easily available. Some people will pay for the convenience but I can’t imagine many do. As far as I know digital isn’t any cheaper on xbox than PS so it isn’t like Song charge a fee or take a percentage for publishers using their network. Well unless Sony and M$ take roughly the same amount. But then that doesn’t make sense as the marketing advantage of being able to offer cheaper digital games would be massive. So all in all, I can’t work out why they don’t sell digital at the same price as physical. It costs less to distribute, loads if people would do it so more profit.
  20. Interesting article and gives food for thought. I know for me, as well as others have expressed a similar opinion, that I’d go digital more often if prices were competitive. Digital copies at their full RRP of £50-£60 stand no chance when physical copies are sold for around £40. Also the figures at the bottom seem off. I know they’re only estimates but surely the xbox series x can’t be over 3x worse than the PS5?
  21. So after logging off CoD last night, I decided to give this a watch. I’d forgotten some of things that happen but even though I know what’s coming it’s still a funny film. As I said on whatsapp, this film means every time I hear Time to say goodbye all I want to sing is boats and hoes. That’s the power of the fucking Catalina wine mixer.
  22. A sponsored drinking competition, we’d be good at that 😂 Not everything has to be gaming related but that is the thing that brought us together so keeping that in mind. The obvious one would be a really long gaming session. Like you see the 24 hour gaming sessions with donations going to a charity. The problem with that though I think you need a reasonable following in the first place. Though maybe still an idea. My other thought was like you seeing people doing the marathon in dress up. I’m not suggesting we do a marathon but could do a 10k or something in cosplay. If we picked the right sort of characters the outfits wouldn’t be too bad to make or walk in etc.
  23. I did not know, I will have to get deleting 👍
  24. Original GTA on PC you could enter cheat codes when typing your character name. If you entered ‘suckmyrocket’ you had all weapons in the game. Or ‘iamthelaw’ for no police. Trust Rockstar to get some humour in their cheat codes.
  25. It would be good for the GPU market to knock nVidia down a peg or two as their pricing for the higher end cards is just ridiculous. Though I'm not so sure AMD will go chasing those halo products in the GPU market for now. Sure, having a halo product gets their name out there more but it's the CPU market where the money is - more specifically HEDT and server CPU's. As that is the market they need to push and focus on, I don't see them really focusing on consumer GPU's for a few years.
