  1. Take a game like Arma 3. It's been going since 2013. It has had constant updates and various dlc over the years but never more than £20. I've got them all and in total it probably cost less than £50... in 8 years. More importantly they opened the game to the modding community who went on to create amazing game modes which you can access for free. Arma Life, King of the Hill, DayZ etc etc....and it's still one of the most popular games on Steam. That's just one example from many but I suppose it's different on console, and the big boy AAA companies don't like modding....so it is what it is. As I said before, it's entirely subjective how folk feel about it and I'm not complaining about Density, I've bought the dlc myself..but let's not pretend there aren't other better ways of doing things.
  2. The price of Destiny updates is too expensive. I agree continued development has to be paid for, but if you're paying the price of a new game every year, you should be getting a new game. But I also understand those who play regularly are probably getting value for their money.
  3. While for some games, DayZ for example, the server hosting allows you to alter day and night cycle in the configuration, I think it isn't possible in Valheim due to the sleep mechanic. Hopefully the game itself will in future allow that, but not possible right now.
  4. For video editing, extra RAM will definitely help speed things up. How many Watts is your current PSU? You're quite right about that and will be a factor when looking at the latest GPUs.
  5. Another golden oldie passes, RIP Boysie Found out today he was Twitter friends with Ice T, incredible 🙂
  6. So, after 18 months of no wipes, looks like the next patch means back to square one. I'll lose all my money plus my only recently acquired dragonfly 😬 But that was going to happen at some point and the reasons for it are pretty good.
  7. Another old footballer leaves this mortal coil. Jimmy, probably the best striker this country has ever produced, would literally walk the ball into the back of the net. Another genius who had too close a relationship with alcohol meaning a shorter career than it should have been. RIP sir 👏
  8. Let's be real. This conclusion had something of the inevitable about it from the very first post 😅
  9. I have a thing with early access games where I'm already mentally prepared. To be honest I generally just try a game out when it's first released and then hop on and off occasionally through its development cycle until the full release. So I'm happy with whatever you guys want to do.
  10. Not sure how much can get done in just one month, suppose that depends on what's causing the delay...but 100% prefer to play a polished game at launch. I guarantee whenever it is released it will still have problems 😁 Meanwhile, I booted up BF4 on the PS5 last night for the first time and it was even better than I expected.
  11. I had D&D last night so only had about am hour to play. Very happy with the player UI and shooting mechanics. Makes me wonder why Cyberpunk couldn't do it to this standard.
  12. If it had Dominik Diamond back in it I'd definitely watch, he used to crack me up 😁
  13. That's helpful and sounds like he will play most contemporary games and need a half decent computer that will last him some years. But as I say, it's not a great time to be buying a PC as it's more expensive than usual. Would a laptop be a consideration or are you thinking desktop? What is your budget? Sorry to be asking more questions but we'll get there...
  14. A few of us are going to reinstall BF4 on the PS, could be good to refamiliarise with it before 2042 drops, plus it's an excellent game unlocked at 60 frames on the PS5. If you fancy it, reinstall or obtain it from EA Play and we'll have a blast🙂
  15. Sorry Thursday, I keep thinking today is Wednesday 😁
  16. Nice one, first one is next week but we're having a practice tomorrow night too if you're about 🙂
  17. Had a bitcof a weird one with this last night. It went live just after midnight and I had it pre-installed. As always, pre-installed doesn't mean it's ready to go. It did a little update and my PC went nuts. The fans went hyper and all my cpu cores were in the 70s. My PC never goes above the 50s. GPU too was getting a work out. It was only a minute but totally freaked me out. Anyway, I jumped on the game quickly to check the shooting, that's make or break with me for some games. Shooting is top notch I must say. As is the voice acting and humour. But I only played very briefly to sort out graphics settings. Happy to report I'm getting 90+ fps on ultra settings😉
  18. Hi Emma, thanks for getting in touch, I'm sure we can help provide advice. First thing I'd say is that this is not the best time to buy a gaming PC. Certain chips and parts have become very low in supply, so prices are ridiculously high at the moment. So bear that in mind. Secondly, do you know what type of games your son plays? Thirdly, do you have a monitor? If not, that would be needed too, and the resolution, be it 1080p, 1440p or 4k would impact what type of PC to go for. Finally, there are sites like Overclockers that sell ready-made gaming PCs and I encourage you to check them out. If you reply to the questions above we'll be able to see what's best.
  19. 21st September it goes live I believe 👍
  20. £40 from Green Man Gaming if anyone fancies it on PC
  21. Bethesda have got them using Denuvo, which is annoying, but even still I'm tempted to get it. Gives me Bioshock and Dishonored vibes, which is fine by me. Will look see if I can find it cheaper than £50 😉
  22. If they had added a hint about GTA6 they might have the opposite effect but no, flog that horse a little more, until it gets turned into glue 🤑
  23. Happy birthday @slamminbones Hope you're getting wrecked 🍻🥳
  24. Also, this doesn't need to be a practice for the league races, happy to switch to other tracks if anyone thinks it's overkill😉
  25. Good luck man, hope all goes well 🙂
