  1. Ok, finally got the first shortcut unlocked. What do I need to upgrade shit? I had about 10k of that currency shit you get every time you kill something, can that be used for anything? I've used a bit to maintain my bonesaw or whatever it's called, but how I actually gain levels or points in a stat?
  2. Lol. Bungie does it again. That's all I have to say about this.
  3. Right, I think I'm done. It's just too fucking frustrating. I haven#'t even managed to kill the first boss and I'm ready to throw this game in the bin. I can understand the game being hard. I can understand the challenge behind it all and the combat system is a masterpiece, but why the fuck are the checkpoints so far apart? Why do you have to get all the way to the other side of the map to unlock a shortcut? I love a good challenge, but this feels like it's being hard just because it can. It's ridiculous. Die. Run again, die. Run again, die. Now your weapon's fucked, so you do less damage, but you're still back at square one with all the bad guys waiting to kill you. Only way to repair weapon is to kill all the bad guys again, with your now weak ass weapon, and get back to the checkpoint which again is a billion miles in the wrong direction. Can't upgrade, because haven't killed boss yet. Do a nice, sneaky run, proud of self, get very far, some fucking dog jumps out of the shadows and literally kills me in one bite. If it's not a dog, it's some ogre thing. Again, one shot. Or some other thing with a massive fucking cleaver. Again, one shot. This is just fucking stupid now.
  4. Oh shit, I thought I was up to date at episode 5 LOL. Just got hold of episode 6, Sickrage is a bit slow apparently. Really enjoying it so far. Very obvious it's from the same crew who made BB. You guys want a lil easter egg?
  5. Fuck me, time flies! Cracking job Steve, and Chris, keep it up dude.
  6. Oh sweet, cheers. Gonna have a go again in a mo
  7. Something tells me she needs something a lot stronger than a cigarette LOL
  8. Just had my best attempt yet. I'm still not out of the city centre. I killed the ogre thing, managed to kill him a few times now. Then proceeded down the high street and killed everything along the way, only to leave the gates and get battered by that brick thing. Would be nice if I knew where the next lamp was, this stretch is starting to do my head in! Magnificent game, it must be said. The combat is so damn rewarding. Still haven't sussed out how to upgrade shit though, not that it matters 'cos all my soul stuff is scattered around my hundreds of corpses around the city.
  9. Yessir. Mine is a 32D850D. This one: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-205-SA It's amazing. You really need to see a monitor this size to appreciate it.
  10. Well, a 295x2 can be had for about £500 but suffers from driver issues as it's still a Crossfire setup, despite the fact that it's technically one card. When it works well, it spanks anything currently on the market. When it works well. I'd be waiting a bit if I were you. The 980s are still feeling the new-card-overpricedness and AMD has the potential to give them a thorough kicking. Have you got a 1440p monitor? A decent one will cost you £300+.
  11. 4k is still an enthusiast party, and a silly expensive one at that. 4gb in VRAM won't do, you're looking at 8gb+. This gives you a few options. A single 290x 8gb and crank loads of settings down for a smooth ride, two 290x 8gb for higher settings but you're looking at another £600 for entry level water cooling to tame them. For a silent setup, you're looking at a grand on cooling alone. 2 290x chips will be loud and stupidly hot if not cooled properly. Another option is a Titan X which start at £900 each. One will perform roughly slap bang in the middle of a single 290x and Crossfire. It won't need luxury cooling either, although you'd want to consider it if going SLI later on down the line. Titan X are also 12gb cards and are the first cards designed to take 4k by the horns. The 290x 8gb won't have enough grunt to stuff an 8gb RAM buffer full of pixels, hence why you'd need two. To add more confusion to the mix, AMD are rumoured to be releasing their 3xx series cards soon. They've been expecting for months however and no official wprd has come out yet, which means they've either developed a lemon which will burn your house down with heat, it's too expensive to market for the price they'll have to charge compared with Nvidia's offerings, is suffering technical difficulties or worst yet, the hundreds of leaks we've all seen were hocum and the 3xx series is just a myth. Then there's 4k itself. Loads of games have tons of issues with it. The monitors are massive, hot, overpriced, and the whole market is filled with snake oil. If I were in your shoes, I'd be looking at 1440p. It's mich better than 1080p, is well catered for, doesn't cost the earth and has a shitload of options in terms of monitors and cards which will sing its tune all day long. 4k is lovely and all, but to be honest at this point it's nothing more than a party trick, one whuch suppliers are more than happy to charge you a shitload for. You should come visit, have a few games of BF4 on my 1440p 32" monitor and see what you think. And a beer http://www.tweaktown.com/tweakipedia/79/amd-radeon-r9-290x-8gb-cf-vs-titan-sli-gtx-980-4k/index.html
  12. Cheers Jordie! I've got a few of those blood echoes already, how do I spend them? Also, in the first 10-15 mins, in the courtyard where you first leave the doctor's place, you can hear a massive monster thing walking around. I've found a way to get to it, am I meant to take it on? I've tried once but he swatted me like a fly. On the other end of the same road, there's a monster trying to batter the city door down. I avoided it as I wa ted to find another lamp before doing anything stupid but something else killed me so I'm back to the beginning again. It's a great game, I just need to get my head around it, it's all a bit deep end at the moment.
  13. First impressions: I realise that this game is meant to be hard and all that, but the lack of any info or tutorial stuff is a stupid move. The HUD has no explanation at all although it's fairly self explanatory. The only thing I couldn't figure out in the hour or two I played was the XP system, basically nothing in the top right makes any sense. It's just numbers which go up when I kill something, but that's it. If that's XP, then there's really no excuse for having a level number next to it or a progress bar. The story, or lack thereof, is also stupid. So far I've woken up, been killed by a rabid dog, ended up in some dream thing where little skeletons come out of the ground and hand me letters with some basic shit to get started. The inventory is stupid, again no explanation. Still no idea about this parrying stuff you guys are on about. The lamps, or checkpoints are too small. A map of sorts would be great as well, but then again it could have a negative effect on the setting of the game. What are the things I'm killing? They look like farmers which have turned into scarecrows with the slowest muscles known to man. They also speak like cockneys, which is a bit odd. Why is everything trying to kill me? The only person who hasn't tried to kill me is the doctor lady right in the beginning, behind a locked door who gives me a blood thingy and then tells me I should be hunting and asks me to leave her alone. Don't even know what she looks like, but she must be a bit odd if she's giving blood to random people. There are also numbers next to health bars on bad guys, dunno what that is either. Seems to be levels, but they change every respawn, unless it's some random shit. The combat however is great. The ability to take on four straw men with pitch forks, torches, cleavers and even some ancient rifle and chop them all into bits in a matter of seconds is great. The combat really is what this game is all about for me. Granted it's still very early for me to comment on other stuff but I'll get there. I just feel that the setting of the game is completely dead. Everything wants to kill me for no reason, the whole city is some goth shit with no explanation of what world this is, I've come across a few monsters which are just there. They could be from the underworld, some evil force could've summoned them, they could've fallen out the sky, they could've grown in lovely sunny fields on daisy plants and then turned into murderous thugs with fucking huge cleavers that want to chop my head off. Fuck knows. And that's what lets this game down for me. I should at least have some tidbit of info, some scrap of story, even just a newspaper article lying on the ground to indicate something. Anything. But no. "Here, take this gun and this cleaver, go back into this world you know fuckall about and kill shit. Kthnxbai". That combat though.... hell yes.
  14. Just a heads up, I've had to empty the Paypal account as I am a bit short of cash at the moment and Kyla and I are flying to Holland on Wednesday to go to my father's funeral. I'll add the cash back in on the 25th when I get paid again.
  15. Omg Palle, watch this: Then, 5 years later, Heineken did this one:
  16. Completely forgot about this ad. Have a classic from Australia:
  17. Get off my internet.
  18. Someone needs to learn how to fix shit I'm with you Mark, I've had a week from hell too.
  19. Isn't that what you said about the last 3?
  20. The show's in bloody Brum this year! As it happens I drove past Earl's Court a few weeks ago and noticed it was standing in scaffolding. Didn't even think twice, but when I got an email from the Eurogamer folks saying that it's going to be in Birmingham, I managed to put two and two together.
  21. Nice. I've got the Mamba 2013, only bought it to experience a newer Razer product and because I couldn't leave Eurogamer last year without buying something. It accompanies my RAT 5 and Corsair M60, both of which I prefer to the Razer. The Razer is a great mouse, performs very well but there are two reasons I prefer the other two which are 100% down to myself: the Razer is a bit slippery for my dry skin, and I like my DPI adjustable on the fly. I'm still enjoying the Razer, make no mistake, but it's certainly made me think about other things I wouldn't have when buying a mouse.
  22. Rerelease bo2 for the ps4 with loads of classic maps and guns. Keep the perks / streak system. $$$$$$$$
  23. Hawkmoon.
  24. ^agree 100%. You can tell Jordie was raised by good parents.
  25. Congratulations Jordie, lovely little cars. I've got the same albeit slightly older as the older ones are a 1.6 and are just restricted coopers, so for a small fee you can chip them for an extra 38bhp. They handle like go karts too. I'm yet to have an "oh shit" moment in mine, no matter how hard I push it, it just clings to the road. It's going in for a bit of a freshen up tomorrow actually, new discs and pads all round, new top mounts, swingarm bushes, clutch, aux belt and tensioner, full set of tyres and a Hunter's alignment. Then it's time for some track action methinks!
