Ah it's doing well to have lasted then 🙂 It's easy for little communites like this for people to drift away so though they won't blow their own trumpets it does take the efforts of individuals to keep somewhere like this going, I'm sure Lee will say it's all down to the community but it never is 😄 In my short spell here I can tell @GazzaGarratt is certainly a driving force of it so fair play to him 🙂 And @Diddums for all the work he must have put in all those years ago ^_^ And ofc you as well @phil bottle 🙂

So, FG just officially hit it's anniversary last week and a bunch of us now have the 10 year badge. Congrats to all who have made it this far and to whose who keep the community what it is today. At long friggin last!!! I have been waiting for Sea of Stars since it’s announcement, and now that I’ve got it in front of me, hot damn, this is far better then I expected!! This game is a masterpiece!! The graphics, sound, music, and gameplay are spot on! It reminds me of Chrono Trigger and super Mario rpg from the SNES days. Timing a button press when your attack hits gives a boost to damage. Same goes for defending when an enemy attack’s about to hit. A lot of the special moves have contextual button presses to either keep them going or power them up. I won’t spoil the story, but this is a prequel to Sabotage Studios other game, The Messenger. Easily my game of the year so far. If you’re a fan of classic Jrpgs, check this one out.

Alright, just got home from a long weekend of expensive vintage cars, good booze, and steak. It's time to play! I ended up just buying it on Steam to play today and get the expansion when it comes. Fuck it, life is too short.

1080ti will run this game just fine... ...in 720p

One that is not heard of much is the back to the future tell tale game from the ps3. It doesn't follow the films but definitely underrated.

I don't know about games I love but I've rediscovered some games from playing on SteamDeck. Case in point, I've just started playing The Ascent. I think it had some issues on release, so not sure how well it sold... but I've found it's the perfect game on a hand held.

This game has been worth every single penny.

My only concern for this game is with regards performance. I've seen some pretty hefty builds barely managed 60fps I hope some optimisation is on the cards as my little 1080ti is currently shitting itself in anticipation 😅

If you're just using 1080p then you can expect to run most modern games at almost-maximum settings. There may be some issues with certain games especially the RAM hungry ones like TLOU but otherwise that's a half-decent rig that will keep you going for at least 4 years before you even have to consider really toning things down. £250-300 is a very fair price.

Chelsea, the gift that keeps on giving. I'm sure if they stick with Poch they'll be fine but it's the same story as last season for them and I'm loving it 🤗

Googling some benchmarks of the 2070 it can use high to ultra settings in games like Far Cry 5, Forza Horizon, Shadow of the Tomb Raider etc. and maintain over 60fps. So hopefully it should be quite a noticeable jump in performance. Some of that will be down to VRAM too, 8Gb is the minimum I’d go for these days as games are getting chonky ao your 980 was probably having to do some VRAM management which definitely wouldn’t help game smoothness. The motherboard is ATX form factor which means you can’t go too small but you can get some pretty small atx cases. Motherboad sizes are easy as the case will say what if they support it or not. It’ll just be some googling to make sure the 980 fits too.

A part of me is regretting getting Starfield over this now🤣
