Early Impressions (Early Access)
GazzaGarratt and one other reacted to Riff Machine for a topic
Ok, early access dropped for this on June 1st, so many of us have been playing the shit out of it. curious to hear what everyone's thoughts are. Me? It looks great. I prefer this visual style to the more toon-ish look D3 had. It plays awfully similar too, so that's a plus. However, the constant enemy scaling to your current level always makes it feel like you're underpowered. Simply walking from one destination to another often feels like a slog due to the constant encounters you run into. I'm currently playing on tier 2, and there were a few times my A7F backup singing Necromancer nearly met his end to a group of shambling corpses or some bottom-end skeletons. I've seen similar complaints across multiple sites so I'm glad I'm not alone. Also, and maybe this has something to do with it, but after hitting Level 35, the difficulty seemed to spike. I'm not sure if it was just me, but most of the time spent running around felt more like endgame stuff rather then the main quest/story. I also think they buffed the enemies based on data from the previous betas as the game does seem a tad more difficult. The class nerfs probably helped that as well. My little skeletal army gets wasted pretty quickly now as opposed to the first closed beta. I'm almost positive there will be a "day 1" patch coming on Tuesday addressing some player issues and complaints. Diablo 3 was pretty awful when it first dropped and didn't really hit its stride until Reaper of Souls. Let's hear it FG. What are your thoughts?2 points -

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I've been thinking about whether to get the game or not as I loved Diablo 3 — by your comments it look like I should! So thanks 👍2 points -

Microsoft to buy Activision Blizzard?
GazzaGarratt and one other reacted to cyberninja2601 for a topic
I guess will see this week what happens. It's being reported that the just Activision just might withdraw from the UK market and press ahead with the deal (as I said). The EU and others have approved the deal. MS is meeting with the UK chancellor. They already said we can withdraw from the UK or we can just go ahead and we will see you in court. Either one would seem to tell the CMA to "suck it".2 points -

Not sure how many on here watch or are intrested in this except @Diddums but it's that time of year. Having ridden round the island hitting 130mph the fact these guys hit 130+ average speed is mind blowing. Already in practice Micheal Dunlop has done an unofficial 135.53mph lap on the superbike and broken the supertwin lap record from a standing start. Anyway here's on onboard from day one practice, I heard no lap timer to take the pressure off while they get up to speed. To think the big bike races are 6 laps too that's hard. Doesn't look too scary @GazzaGarratt1 point -
DMZ Season 4 is being reset
GazzaGarratt reacted to Tove for a topic
A full reset is coming with Season 4 This includes Faction Missions Progress Contraband Keys Mission Stash Insured Weapon Slots They state that the insured weapon slots will have new ways to unlock them. I gotta be honest if they make them purchasable that might be enough for me to not come back to this game.1 point -

Microsoft to buy Activision Blizzard?

That's just a baseless threat from an immature corporation and would prove the CMA spot-on in part of their wider findings. The funny thing is that they are still being sued in the US by the FTC and had to make astonishing concessions just to get the EU in their pocket. No uproar about that but we all know why. As predicted, they are now playing the 'victim' card in a lame bid to get the deal over the line with the CMA and limit the amount of amendments they may have to make to do so. I'm surprised the chancellor is even entertaining this as other companies would not get such privileges but he'll no doubt get a nice backhander out of it. Other companies would've done a blanket appeal as is their right but as per, an American one resorts to blackmail. Microsoft are failing so hard with Xbox right now, any withdrawal of their services out of spite and disregard for law will be the final nail in their coffin in the gaming sector. The disrespect of local laws in domains they operate and other businesses is pretty disgusting but I'd expect nothing more from these politically connected American corporations.1 point -

That would probably be a game breaker for most people TBH. Although I'll admit I haven't played DMZ for quite a while (even though it was one of my favourite parts of MW).1 point -

I think it'll be more of a way of stopping Coin-Duping and other scams — including buying coins from 3rd Party markets (which where a lot of fraudulent activity actually comes from). You need to remember, buying cosmetics isn't mandatory, and if you don't want to, you don't have to. But some people do, and I would much rather do it in a secure environment under the use of Blockchain technology.1 point

NFTs
IRaMPaGe reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
Two of the greediest companies on the planet creating another revenue stream out of thin air is only going to benefit themselves. People trading real money for e-money on a fantasy economy is not wise for regular people but with the popularity of things like UT and the sneaker market, they will be able to use sports celebrities along with content creators to milk the hell out of gullible people. Hopefully like most of these ventures already, it'll be an overnight flop. People literally can own their in-game items through marketplace purchases as it stands so owning a serial of a mass produced digital item is a huge step down or sideways step that will likely cost 100x more. It will allow cancer like EA and Nike to create a variable and dynamic market with fraudulent scaling to extract as much money as possible and leverage worthless values higher, whilst having no legality issues like they would with regulated digital content. Owning a digital shoe collection serial which can only be used in one game is tragic. It was bad enough when this idea was mooted for microtransactions 8 years ago so to see it materialise again with FIFA and Nike where they are now is even more demoralising. These will just be common microtransactions dressed up differently that will give these corporations more money.1 point -
Is the future of Web3 gaming here? Nike have officially announced their .Swoosh (NFT collection) collaboration with EA Sports! This could be the introduction of digital ownership in video games — bringing exposure back to the digital market. Now... there is still a mainstream hate towards NFTs but with a big brand like Nike stepping up to the plate, could minds be changed?1 point

Microsoft to buy Activision Blizzard?
Plumbers Crack reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
Also the fact they are not willing to remove Bobby Kotick or any of the existing Activision board just shows it's all about the money and dominance and nothing for the gamer. They've done sod all to benefit Bethesda and all their other acquisitions in the last few years are just Game Pass fodder. The prospect of Activision operating under new ownership and vastly improved ethics was initially promising but as soon as they voted to retain Kotick and the rest just means the only tangible change his where the profits are funneled. Microsoft are clearly delighted with the way that company is currently ran despite condemning them weeks before they made their shock cut-price bid (what a funny coincidence) for their behaviour in the abuse/culture scandal. This is a deal simply to isolate Sony, capture another huge part of the current market, diminish Playstation's potential and cover all bases in the sector going forward. Maybe if they spent the last 15 years invested in building and growing studios like Sony have then they wouldn't have to throw around the cash to capture such talent for themselves. If they fail to get the deal over the line with the CMA, EU and FTC then it may not be a terrible thing or be all that noticeable.1 point -
