  1. Now the all important punk top 5, although I'm almost swayed by @J4MES OX4D and his epic choices 😅 Conflict - Increase the pressure Cock Sparrer - Shock Troops Cocney Rejects - Greatest Hits Volume 1 (this is how they named their first album😅) Dead Kennedys - Plastic Surgery Disasters Ramones - Rocket to Russia Honourable mentions to Feeding of the 5000 by Crass, the first 3 Clash albums, Never Mind the Bollocks (although Lydon is a narcissistic prick), anything by Blitz, Sham 69, the Business....all who would feature in a top 10....

  2. @IRaMPaGe awesome little thread to start dude 😁 I'm into a lot of different types of music, especially most types of rock and metal, and have bought a lot of albums over the years,so (in no particular order) here you go 😊 1: Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory 2: Slipknot - Iowa 3: The Offspring - Americana 4: Stone Sour - Come What(ever) May 5: Muse - Simulation Theory Special Mention to The Dark Knight score by Hans Zimmer, i love that album but couldnt quite put it on the list. There are many that arn't on this list including Limp Bizkit's Chocolate Starfish and Significant Other, Korn's Untouchables, Blink 182's Take off your Pants and Jacket and most of the Kerrang albums that came out back in the day, and there was even the Ministry of Sound Annual Millenium Edition which had some absolute bangers on it 😁

Can't believe I let a goth album into my top 5 but there you go. I'll do a punk top 5 separately as that's serious business 😁

  5. Hello there! As the title says, what are your favourite 5 albums of all time? They don't have to be in a particular order, any genre or even instrumental. As we know music can be life changing, it can make you feel a certain way. It can relax you, put you in a positive mood, get you pumped up, driving in the car. Whatever you like to listen to for various reasons. Your choice of albums are ones you can put on start to finish and enjoy the entirety. Desert island scenarios or whatever. For me personally I enjoy a large mix of different music styles and genres and it's hard to pick just 5. You can have 2 honorable mentions also. My list: Red Hot Chili Peppers- Blood Sugar Sex Magik Queens Of The Stone Age- Songs For The Deaf Pink Floyd- Dark Side Of The Moon Rage Against The Machine- Self Titled Parliament- Mothership Connection Honorable Mentions: Cypress Hill-Black Sunday The Stone Roses- 2nd Coming

  6. Quite a variety on here then 😄 @Diddums that sounds an incredibly interesting place to work at! Well seeing as I did start the thread it's only right I do add my bit as well. Personally I am a mechanical design engineer (or at least I qualify for it in the next couple of months), so I have worked for the same company for 6 years just as a CAD technician (so turning marked up drawings into 2d professional drawings) and about 2 years ago I spoke to the boss about moving into design and he agreed, so I have been attending college for a day a week working towards my HNC, I can go further but have chosen not to just yet (and unfortunately for him, the young designer at the time was let go and I have now slotted into that position). As a company we design mechanical and electrical systems for large buildings (mainly residential apartments and the such), moving into mechanical design as I am I am moving into designing heating, cooling, ventilation, drainage & water services (this typically includes plantrooms & tankrooms that run the water to apartments and the such) and I get involved in others such as fire suppression systems, smoke ventilation and building management systems (I have to spec up some of these things). The past year or so I have worked on my first project based in Bath and it is being installed currently so I will be going down to see it next week. Where I think one of the senior designers has realised I will be incredibly valueable is with Revit & BIM, this is basically the 3d modelling of buildings (I will sort out a few screenshots at some point to show you guys) and everything that goes into them, something I have an interest in but the opportunity has never come up to really get going with it until very recently. In addition I am partially responsible for IT & software management for the company, sometimes select products to install in the project and that sort of thing so it's quite a broad role I have at the moment. So my subject knowledge is quite broad and growing rapidly and I could realistically go and get a much higher paid job than I do currently but I kind of like it where I am because I am getting the opportunities now to develop, do some of my own things and the such as well. Though the conversation will be coming about pay this year, once I get my certificate, just need to build up some confidence for it because it's not something I have ever done before!

  11. Damn you @Diddums now i have to do a proper one as well. Assessment compliance for an exam board. Assessment performance statistics on one hand, internal auditing of awarding body processes on the other. Long term, however, I want full blown anarchist communism and to do away with the wage system entirely. Belated welcome to FG btw @Luseth I've been away a few weeks👍 Nice to see new threads to chat about stuff.

  14. Stupid competition right before a World Cup. More importantly Spurs look like they're properly building a squad. Just worried Bissouma has some sort of cloud over him that I've not looked into yet...great buy if all good.

  15. I know man 5 Albums just isn't enough, the honorable mentions could of easily made the list. 50 more albums could of been added lol. Music can take you to a certain time or place, the happiness it can make is undeniable. My list could of had Black Sabbath, The Beastie Boys, Stevie Wonder or Jimi Hendrix on it amongst many others. My taste in music is far and wide. I will say commercial pop stuff isn't for me and also I hate country music. Anything else I will happily give it a go or a listen. I just wanted to share some stuff I've always liked and hoped others would too! Always looking for something I may have missed or not given enough of a chance. 2nd coming is class and Black Sunday is absolutely superb. "I'm a chickenhawk huntin for a chicken, Get paranoid when you hear my glock clickin" Look forward to your list Phil 😎

  16. So just had a meeting with one of my directors at work (the one that's more likely to be grumpy than not). He made a comment about me being indespensable which was surprisingly nice! But it made me think of yesterday's bored at work thread and in turn wondering what everyone does for a living on here? 🙂

  18. Great info post @Lurch . I think these two updates feel like they should have the most impact out of all the changes imo. It really changes the combat depending on how much you can either walk on walls, jet packs, or boots on the ground. I think adding verticality is a good thing, providing they have enough options to combat camping at high places. The ledge-hanging definitely sounds interesting and makes you feel like you can hide on a ledge for a short while.

  19. I definitely listened to a lot of those Nu Metal artists. KoRn and Limp Bizkit were some of the first heavier things I started listening to when I was 14 or 15. I do prefer Follow The Leader and Issues from KoRn, Life Is Peachy and the Self Titled are good too, but a bit darker. Origin Of Symmetry will always be my favourite Muse album. Did listen to some of The Offspring they were pretty good back then. Mostly Americana, Conspiracy Of One and Ixnay On The Hombre.

  20. Battlefield 4 was already on its 4th map expansion by this stage🤣 BF4 Premium was one of my best purchases - the base game had some devastating technical and performance issues but once that was fixed to a degree and the new content started rolling it, it was an absolutely sensational package with guns galore and varied maps. It's such a travesty we don't get anything like this now especially with them not being burdened by having to deliverer paid map packs. Players really got screwed over with BF5 because we missed out on at least 8 new maps because they were busy trying to fix all the issues the game had. It's even worse now because they have to make the new content away from the conceptual flaws whilst under feedback guidance from the community. What a pickle!

  23. I'm happy enough with Southgate and think he deserves the world cup which to me is where he should be assessed, a lot of the recent results have not been great admittedly but you can see he is also looking ahead and if we disrupt it now we are back to square 1. Being a Birmingham City fan at the moment has really been tough over recent years but it appears like we are on the verge of being sold and there is a lot of speculation as to who will end up owning us and with Bassini being the front runner, who is really behind / backing him. Suspicions are that it is David Sullivan at West Ham (as he is in the process of selling West Ham currently) which would be interesting as he left us previously and we found ourselves in a world of hurt. On the flip side our fans blame him for our current plight so it will take a lot for him to win them over.

  24. On the England front, I think its perfectly acceptable to say that the performance against was unacceptable and deservedly lost badly and at the same time say that the Nations League was clearly used to bleed players in for the next 2,4,6 years as thats how Southgate has been. Yes, he hasn't won anything only one manager ever has for us. If you look at his past record, because thats all you can do, his Win % is higher than Sir Alf Ramsay right at this minute. I think a lot of younger folk too say this is the best squad we've had in years too which I don't think is accurate either. When they say best, usually thats through stats and stuff on paper. If thats the case then the late 90's and for 15 years onwards, was probably the best but we all know it takes a good team to get you over the line, not individuals. I've said it before and I'll say it again. You don't know what you've got 'til its gone 👊

  28. Your thread piqued my interest, what do you do @Luseth ? Me? I'm a laboratory and technical operations manager at one of the world's most interesting places. A few tidbits: we have a tree which is grown from a sprig from Newton's actual apple tree, my client designed the bouncing bomb for the Dambusters, and Alan Turing did a load of research here in his early days. We also have an atomic clock which dictates the time around the world, accurate to within 1 second every one hundred million years. I could go on and on, but I'll let you Google it if you're interested 😄 Here's a video from Tom Scott: I was moving furniture for £50 a day when I moved to London in 2006.

  30. I intend to go back to this game when I get a Steam Deck. Will start a new character for it eventhough I'm not a fan of how the game starts... I'll get round to buying the new Baldurs Gate when they finish that too.

  31. Yeah disco doesn't do it for me nor does RnB. Irish is ok in my books. My folk interest is quite limited. Garage not really a big fan of. I do however like some drum & bass and some house and trance/dance if the mood calls. Love funk music because it's groovy and also blues, some punk. Like me some ska, but more so reggae. Have quite an upbringing on hard rock and metal in my early years and teens especially.

  32. The new map is excellent, highly recommend trying it out. Such a shame its only one. If that's all there's going to added map-wise until September, they'll have left it too late to save this game.

  34. Yeah, I'll enjoy thinking about it. While my go to genres tend to be punk or reggae/ska I have always listened to everything I can. Except disco/garage/rnb/Irish country music, all of which I avoid as they send me up the wall 😁

  35. Excellent post James and full of information. They did mention maybe swimming would be an option as well. Hope people don't camp with Shotguns underwater ughhh..... I think you can only use your secondary underwater. Depends if Shotguns will be primary or secondary, judging on past history Treyarch do Shotgun secondaries and Infinity Ward always make them primary. 😀

  36. With Modern Warfare II’s launch fast approaching, some questions remain; what strides are Infinity Ward taking to make Modern Warfare II a fresh experience? Similar to its predecessor, Infinity Ward plans to refine its parkour system, drawing inspiration from Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, as well as with the introduction of all-new features and mechanics; here’s the scoop! With Modern Warfare II’s multiplayer maps sticking to a more tight and hard-lined approach to level design; players will be able to meddle with these mechanics in Warzone 2, putting these new features to the test in a larger, more variable playground; using the environment to your advantage! Movement Ladders & Ropes With Ladders, you’ll be able to vertically position the equipment alongside walls, containers, and buildings; though if not supported, it will fall and shatter, causing the Field Upgrade to reset. For Ropes, You’ll be able to repel down, and scale up buildings with this tool. whilst repelling, players can also swing through windows, or into collapsed walls. You can also attach the rope to vehicles and players, allowing for a quick getaway for downed players. Shifting & Strafing Strafing lets you move sideways in any direction, as well as backwards. Say you get too close to a threat, or you turn a corner where you’re at a disadvantage, you can shift out of the area to clear some space and get a better view of your options and surroundings. Wall-climb Players will be able to vertically clamber up walls, this feature is determined by the height of the platform you’re trying to reach and mount. Ledge-hanging You’ll be able to hang off and grab onto ledges. Call of Duty’s newest mechanic that allows players to reach for impracticable platforms, also reduces fall damage. Players will also be able to use their sidearm whilst ledge-hanging. Sliding Sliding has since been revised, allowing for players to now slide into a prone position, as well as down angled inclines and slopes. Bunny-hopping Bunny-hopping is dependent on the height a player falls from; the greater the height, the more speed boost you will gain onto your bunny-hop. Gameplay features Exigency hip-fire (Quick sidearm draw) A feature that allows you to quickly switch to your sidearm with one hand, this can also be done with lethals. Suppressor Meter You can change the size of suppressors and depending on the size it’ll affect recoil, damage, and ranges. There’ll exist a meter that players will be able to mess with and find their balance. Weapon handling (Grips) An operator will have the option of choosing between a set of different tactical handlings and techniques; this can affect the accuracy and speed of a weapon, some examples include a Magwell Grip, and C-Clamp Grip. Magazine check animation -For modes with limited heads-up-display (HUD), you’ll be able to inspect a weapons magazine count. Reticle ammunition count New design where reticles display a weapons ammo count, seen with revolvers and shotguns. These refined and renewed mechanics will give fans a new learning-curve, that’ll allow players to effectively interact with, practice, and master stringing together unfamiliar gameplay features.

  37. This is your friendly reminder to NOT WATCH JURASSIC PARK AT THE CINEMA. It's a lame turd of a film, with not 1 single redeeming feature. It's a cut and paste of most of the others. Rich man builds park for dinosaurs, claims its safe, but "OH NO!" it's not safe, and rich man is bad. 1/10

  38. I just watched Hustle with Adam Sandler, It's a bit strange seeing him in a less comical film / role. The film itself is actually really quite good, about a basketball scout who somewhat gambles his career on a player he thinks is the next big thing. The films got a lot of story that hits the right boxes for emotions etc... Thought it was really good, the story is a little cliche but the acting throughout was great but it also show's how brutal sport can be in terms of recruitment at younger levels and how one moment can be the difference between making it as a professional or going back to a menial job like the rest of us. Though it's based on basketball I imagine it applies to football in a similar fashion.

  40. England 0-4 Hungary Deeply concerning result and another shocking performance in this competition. A few international careers will have certainly been all but ended tonight or set-back considerably. I can’t believe how some can play so well for club but when it comes to England, they almost forget how to play football. Other players are clearly nowhere near ready for this level. Questions will also be asked of Southgate especially with it being such a critical time leading up to the World Cup. He’s done an amazing job so far but you cannot be losing games like this or on a run we are without scrutiny.
