Outdoor cooking
GazzaGarratt and one other reacted to Docwagon for a topic
My wife has been after me to buy a smoker/grill I can use in shit weather. I know, the opposite problem most guys have. I finally sprung for a Kamado Joe "Big Joe II" ceramic egg style grill. It's the tits. It's expensive, best price I could find was $1499 shipped, but it's proving to be worth it. 1) Temperature control is very easy. There are no air leaks, so you have full control of air flow in and out. If you shut both vents, it'll actually kill the fire and save the rest of your charcoal for next time. 2) The ceramic has a lot of thermal mass. Once it's up to temp it'll stay hot for hours, even if the fire is out, if you don't open it much. 3) It's very efficient with fuel. See above two points. 4) It's a clean burn. You get smoke but very little 'dirty' smoke. I made 2 full racks of ribs, 10 lbs of various sorts of chicken, then let the temp come up from smoking range to grilling range and did 5 flat iron steaks and 3 lbs of party wings (lemon pepper). That's enough meat to get us through the week, which is probably why my wife likes me to have it so much. She cooks less, just makes sides to go with the meats. The ribs were, by far, the tenderest I've done. Literally fall apart tender. No dealing with temperature spikes, no dealing with adding fuel during the cook, no dirty smoke from adding cold wood, just easy cooking.2 points -

Valheim should be close to 6 million copies sold in a month and a half, with a still very high Steam score (96% positive with +150K reviews). This little studio of just 3-5 developers really did an extraordinary job!2 points -

EA giving studios freedom with Game development
phil bottle reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
They launched it in the same week Battlefield 1, Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered were released from what I remember. EA completely threw it under the bus. Thankfully Apex reignited Titanfall as a brand and really put Respawn in the spotlight. They seem to be the one studio EA wont meddle with so I hope it stays that way. If Titanfall 3 exists, then it'll be Respawn's call it seems. They did the Star Wars game so there is definitely resources available outside of Apex so a new Titanfall is a strong possibility now.1 point -

FG League - Spring Season 2021
Mikepjbell reacted to GazzaGarratt for a topic
That's exactly the thing I was trying to point out. If I had started straight off the bat on the wheel I would absolutely be behind that 'Yazz' feeling. Unfortunately I'm paying for my own progression over a few months with a controller against seriously awesome drivers and people that have helped me understand the game more. With a Wheel its difficult to help people where they can improve as its like riding a car in real life. Eventually it'll come autonomous but whe you start out, your brain is thinking 'how on earth am I gonna make my car go round!' (or even straight for that matter). I immediately when I started opted to stay auto gears and left foot brake so thats how I set up. The only way to get quicker outside doing them better will be to go manual, and i'm really not ready for that. Its frustrating only for myself tbh, cos this racing is the best balance of competitive fun you can have. You end up getting too stressy on the random sport online races because they're randoms and don't respect you whereas people here do. I'll eventually get better. I know I will. IRL stuff has made gaming time and FG stuff pretty difficult to balance of late so I'm only paying for that happening after 2 weeks where race incidents were beyond my control. I'm sure when I get a little more time to just get used to the wheel it'll be just like riding a bike....and then Yazz will be singing exactly the same as what you're feeling π1 point -
FG League - Spring Season 2021

Good races last night guys. Seemed like most people had very similar strategies for the league race so was a very good indication of peopleβs raw pace. Monza is going to be a very interesting race especially with the potential of lots of drafting. Obviously this assumes everyone gets through the chicanes safely π1 point -

Playstation probably won't get future Bethesda games.
GazzaGarratt reacted to RenFengge for a topic
Zero part of me is sad about this. Zero lol. I have always considered Bethesda to be better on PC... Also, nothing they release lately is not a "must have". I have a PC. I have a PS5. I'm good lol. I would be super shocked if Square allowed themselves to be acquired by Sony. Their history lends them towards "partnerships" and not wanting to be dictated by Nintendo, Sony, or whoever else. But, it's a new era, so anything is possible.1 point -

Well done, guys! It was actually less of a shitshow than I anticipated and actually slightly boring? I watched @Ajay 's stream until the last encounter. Great job to @Venom for teaching other roles to people!1 point -
COD Cold War: Zombies
GazzaGarratt reacted to Dan94 for a topic
If you get to say Level 10 and die, you'll get some XP and also some of the gems/crystals that allow you to upgrade your perks, weapons, skills etc. However if you get exfiled (I think this is offered every 5 rounds or so) there's one big zombie wave you have to survive and then everything is multiplied so you get alot more XP and rewards instead1 point -

Hopped on last night for about an hour with @TurboR56Mini because I wanted to see what you guys did yesterday! π Thanks for unlocking the game to throw trolls and swamp people at me at home base! π Literally got up and went AFK for like 4 minutes, and @TurboR56Mini starts yelling at me to come back because I'm being hit by a troll in my vegetable garden! THEN, I get attacked by swamp people and skeletons. I thought home was a safe place. π All in all, I love the progress you guys made! So cool!1 point -

Sounds like a great idea and a super idea to ask everyone before we look into what to do next. I think as more and more of us are getting on, I really want to make sure they can feel like they can contribute and create stuff themselves, all for the community cause. I think this is a SUPER idea and we should get it up as an event! The game isn't going anywhere so we shouldn't be in any rush to do stuff. This is why I'm comfortable just creating more places, reinforcing more current builds because it adds to the fun of it all. I'd rather create something near the swamp to smelt the Iron to make stuff than hop via my own personal world to speed stuff up. Sometimes it makes sense but I enjoy the idea of even saying to each other 'how should we do this?'....and now we can build LONGBOATS...I think we should explore the seas over the coming weeks and watch us get obliterated together by some sea serpent. Sounds deligtful and hilarious even when I type it! ππ€£1 point
