Couple of things, is anyone elses mini-map broken? I’ve played a number of games today where team mates don’t appear at all on my mini-map. I can see them on the main screen but there is no arrows or anything on the mini-map. second thing is am I being stupid or does ghost not really work at all. I’ve got a number of classes that are more perk based so run ghost and ninja in perk 3. The number of times I have been moving (sometimes running sometimes walking) and not shooting, the enemy has put a uav up and suddenly players have whipped round to get me. Even when you have a counter uav up people still seem to home in on you more then seems normal. Thirdly, I know it has been mentioned in here or in another thread but the switch flip seemingly mid map to make you go from slapping people to getting arse fucked by Mandingo or vice versa is un-fucking real!!! played a game of kill confirmed and I was on a 23 kill streak and the team was dominating something like 45-12 with none of the opposite team doing at all well. All of a sudden it was like a team of Scumps and Claysters were all over the map. Some poor bugger even piped up on the mic asking if it had gone super difficult for everybody else as well. I think we scrapped a 65-61 win but man it was a proper sweat fest where you pretty much had to trip team their players otherwise you were getting one bursted.3 points

Stretch's Random Board Game Thread!
Spacedeck and one other reacted to Stretch616 for a topic
As part of looking for something to entertain whilst stuck in the house this year, i've really started to get into my board games as part of having something different to do whilst stuck in the house. The general feel for these have been to either be single player games or decent group games that aren't too difficult to get to grips with so the kids could join in easily. We've really enjoyed these so far and i thought it'd be good to share the experiences of these games with you all I'll continue to add to the thread as the collection grows as i have no doubt it will! So here goes!!! @GazzaGarratt - Told you i'd make the thread eventually!! 🤣 Edit: To be clear on the Stretch rating, i'm using a proper scale of 1-10 where 5 is an average game not poor2 points -

Some of the regular FIFA lot had suggested some iconic sayings and sounds that we regular hear so I think we should bank up all the ideas so we can make a virtual soundboard! I've already found an online place that we can make the sounds on, which we could even then use on a stream or even do something even more random and maybe make a physical one 🤣 So let's hear the best ones you can think of people! @Macca89 @LordBaguette @Dan94 @G_dub52 @Lurch @jordie1892 @Glen11 @ChaosGladiator @TonyAE86 @Findmartin2 points -

Stretch's Random Board Game Thread!
GazzaGarratt and one other reacted to Stretch616 for a topic
No Thanks This is a card game based around numbers and the idea being to have the smallest total once the deck is exhausted. The numbers in play are numbered 3-35. Everybody starts the game with no cards and between 7-11 "pass counters". The first card is then revealed from the deck and then it will be down to the first person to decide whether to take the card or to play a pass counter (No Thanks!) Obviously there is slightly more complexity and tactics to the game which is down to 2 factors. When you elect to take the card, you also collect all of the pass counters that have been placed previously. This will then give you an advantage in being able to pass in further rounds. Any cards that you have in a sequence only count to the lowest value. So collecting the 35, 34, 33, 32, 31 & 30 cards would only actually count as 30 points. This is a great dynamic to the game as you then start to think about not only what cards you need to lower your deck value but what cards you could take that would act as "blockers" for your opponents. We've found this one a bit more tactical in the thinking and given this it was difficult to get the psychology of the game through to the younger members of the family. Another issue is that the game is best played with a minimum of 3 players and it really is noticeable in the enjoyment when you play as a duo. I think i'd love to have a bash of this game with a group of adults as i think it'd be a great game, but maybe not as much a game to have an experience of a laugh with. Getting the DSC Raid seal/title
GazzaGarratt reacted to Baabcat for a topic
We seem to have developed a fairly decent sized group of raiders in this current expansion and I wondered how many would be interested in going for the raid seal. It seems to me be reasonably straightforward to get, mainly because there is no requirement for flawless. It’s basically: Pike challenge (which I think a lot of us have got ) 4 triumphs across the 4 encounters (which don’t seem too hard) The 4 weekly raid challenges ( 1 and 3 have certainly been pretty easy, 2 isn’t too bad, and if 4 is what I expect it to be it’s not too hard) An all void run An all solar run An all arc run An all Stasis run Given the first 3 encounters don’t really need supers these all hinge on the final boss fight , which I think we could manage. An all ‘one class’ run, which might be the trickiest to organise for solo class players. So not too bad, and will end up with what will be a pretty rare title. Let me know who’s interested and we will try and get it organised .1 point -

1) The minimap seems ok to me. I have not notice 2) Ghort seems ok still, don't forget - Paranoia, helps you know if someone aims at you - forward intel, helps you know were the enemy will respond - tracker tells shows you the enemy footsteps - field mic, helps with sound - a lot of barrels improve enemy detection So there's a shitload of ways to help detect the enemy and many are immune to ghost. I warzone, tracker is probably the best perk to run. I don't even look at the minimap and often ambush someone with the help of dead silience. 3) I have notice that too.1 point -

GazzaGarratt reacted to Baabcat for a topic
I think we got through so fast because everyone's learnt it, and we've got a reasonable settled group so everyone knows what to do. Doing the raid challenges would mix it up a bit, but equally I'm happy just running with this group of people. After years of LFGing raids it is so nice to have a regular group. And always happy to add a newbie and get them into DSC. So any lurkers out there, just say the word! In terms of knocking out challenges I think we just go with the flow, I agree we should never discourage anyone from joining. If I'm desperate for the seal I can always LFG it, but would much rather do it with the FG gang As for the official way to the chest, I have to admit, I have heard this said, but have literally no idea how to get to it other than the way i always go. Think @RedBeardCG wanted to run again next Sunday same time, if that works then I'm in. Will try and set something up for mid week as well, although i know that might be trickier for people1 point -

Lolz... if we could jump... lolol. I think I heard the way we go about getting the 2nd chest is not the "official" way through the jumping puzzle? Is the other way easier? Here I was thinking yesterday, "Thank goodness Baab asked to do it earlier. I totally forgot about my appointment at 12PM" and "I hope we don't get stuck at the second and final encounter... i hope we don't need to run those 5 times..." Seems to be that if we do it at decent hour for everyone, we screw up less? Or, we were just more focused haha.1 point -

Getting the DSC Raid seal/title
GazzaGarratt reacted to RenFengge for a topic
Not to step on any elite D2 players here nor any of the veteran FGers... so take this with a grain of salt? I don't care about seals, but then again, I don't generally care enough to even do proper builds. However, I do understand the appeal of aiming for them. No different than going for Platinum trophies for games. (Although, I am slightly salty about 1 game I didn't get platinum in.. because of a silly glitch heavily documented in that game's Reddit... that's neither here nor there lol). I do tend to jab at @TurboR56Mini when he gets excited about acquiring a new seal for D2. Do I think they should be difficult to get? Sure. Do I think that some of D2's grinds for things are pointless? Ab-so-f*cking-lutely (i'm looking at you, stupid bounty of multi-precision kills in only groups of enemies bigger than 3). I think the Flawless requirement is a nice requirement for those who are leaps and bounds better than the majority of players. But, I think there's a ways to appease more of the common players, and that's on Bungie to do. Break up the seals in tiers. Make the seal title a different bright color if you go flawless. Just like they make Trials gear glow for a week if you go flawless. Anyway, to @GazzaGarratt's point on booking a regular raid slot, I think it's a great idea. But, I think we, as a group, need to manage expectations on that. We have all seen the mess of LFG putting in barriers for people to join a group. Like KWTD and have ____ weapon and have _____ clears. And, I feel, at this point, it seems like an unspoken requirement of KWTD if you try to do a challenging items together with a team. Honestly, if it wasn't for @Venom stating that he's trying to get full clears and carry people, and if it wasn't for @Baabcat being really awesome, I do not think this "raid group" would be a thing. I do not think we would have pulled off a "no-wipe" raid. Venom and Baab are super patient and accommodating. We may want to consider doing a tier? Or, choices? Like schedule 2 events that are roughly the same time and day. One meant for doing challenges. And, one meant for just doing it, which could be perceived by any FGer that it is truly open for all. So, anyone signing up for the non-challenge event won't feel too much pressure. I'm perfectly fine with going through the raid at no-pressure with those who aren't used to the raid. (Even if Garden was a stressful experience for getting Divinity lol... I still jumped in when I was told a 6th was needed for boss.) It is why I'm very public on Discord if we are trying to set something up. But, I already can see people feeling more comfortable DMing me or Baab about doing stuff instead of publicly asking. All in all, I'm just saying... think about the lurkers and newbies who may be a bit shy on really participating. I wouldn't be "active" if it wasn't for Gazza breaking the ice... and basically throwing me into DSC lol.... or if Ryan wasn't always up to help with something. Or if @Kemp210 wasn't open to joining and doing whatever.1 point -
This game is the worst cod I've ever played it's so broken, the fact people have to make second accounts, the pointless random gunfights, maps spawning in after the game has started, the Dodgy aim resist and the wierd, as jbr said way in which your fortunes flip flop not to mention the crap gun balance it's just a terrible experience. Oh and the arse maps 🤬1 point

Yes its a tricky trade off between widening participation and having something truly elite PvE wise. Although having spent a good portion of the weekend failing the Grandmaster Glassway NF, i think the Conqueror title is becoming that PvE elite title. Not sure if you get a flawless emblem for DSC, that should definitely exist as something to aim at1 point -

Ghost Blitz For anybody that's played Dobble and enjoyed it, this game takes to a whole new level of franticness! In this game there are 5 pieces: White ghost Grey mouse Green bottle Blue book Red armchair Then a card is turned over from the deck and it is down to you to decide which piece corresponds with the card and grab it from the table as quickly as you can. No points here for just shouting out the name! You must physically have the piece in your hand to earn the point Like with Dobble, the card may show an exact match to the piece, however the real curve balls are the cards that do not match anything. You then have to go through a process of elimination with what is wrong on the card which will leave one option remaining which is then the piece you want! So if we take the picture below as an example: The card showing a picture of the grey mouse is an exact match and you need to grab the grey mouse as soon as you can! However the other card doesn't show an exact match. So the process of elimination would go as follows: The armchair is the wrong colour, so this is eliminated The armchair is white which is actually the colour of the ghost, so the ghost is eliminated The book is the wrong colour, so this is eliminated The book is green which is actually the colour of the bottle, so the bottle is eliminated Which leaves the grey mouse as the correct piece to pick up It's amazing how quickly the brain can begin to process this elimination way of thinking once you're dialled in which leads to some really frantic grabs for pieces. When you get the right piece you earn the card, then the next card from the deck is revealed and so on until all the cards have been used. The winner is (shockingly!) the one with the most cards once the deck is exhausted. What is also really good on this game is the fact that age doesn't seem to play a part in this game and kids vs grown ups can be a really competitive affair. As a point of reference, Etta is (currently) 5 and she is able to more than hold her own on this and also correct the grown ups sometimes!! This has been our go to game this year since we've bought it and spent many, many hours having a great laugh with it. The box size is probably the size of 2 playing card boxes which means it's nice and portable and you only need a very small playing surface to be able to have a game. At just over £10 for this, it's an absolute steal and i'm sure this will be at the forefront of my game collection for quite a considerable time Stretch's board game rating - A ghostly 9.5 out of 10 stretches1 point -

Rhino Hero Probably the quickest game to play out of my current collection as it can be over in the space of a few minutes depending on how it goes! However, there is no chance that you'd play this for only one game, it's just too damn addictive! This is basically the opposite of Jenga, so instead of having to rearrange a pre-existing tower, you have to build this one up from scratch. It's the method of how you do this that makes this fun and different every time. There are 2 types of card in the game. A roof card, which you place on top of the walls and it will show markings on them to show where the next wall structures need to be built: And the wall cards themselves: There are also some roof cards which show the Rhino Hero character's face. On these cards, you have to move the character up to the relevant spot on the roof card whilst also placing the wall cards You then just continue to build the tower until either somebody makes the tower fall over or you run out of wall cards and you (all) win! I can't stress how much i like this game! It's fun every time we've played and it always creates a good atmosphere in the room. The simplicity of this also means that there is no problem with leaving the kids to have a game and there's no need for a referee to be involved!! There is an expansion pack to this game where there are more complicated structures to build in, but the premise remains the same. I have no doubt i'll be investing in this at some point in time and i'll be sure to add on the review into this thread Stretch's board game rating - A Super Rhino 8.5 out of 10 stretches1 point -

Bandido This is a great and simple card game where the object of the game is to trap the Bandido in the tunnels and send him back to jail. You do this by building a tunnel network using the cards in your hand to close off the escape routes. Once you've played a card, you then pick another up from the deck and the game continues until you either trap the Bandido, or you run out of cards and there are still open tunnel routes So in essence the game is very simple, but it is bloody difficult!! I've lost count of the amount of games i've had where i've got the tunnel network down to the last one, but no cards to close them up and then going on a bad run where that 1 open tunnel then proceeded to actually be 7 in 3 cards played time! However, it's such a quick game that there's no real element of frustration or wasted time with the difficulty level and it really gives that "one more try" vibe. The package itself is smaller than a standard set of playing cards which is great for being able to transport it, but you will need a big space to play this game! It has taken up my entire dining room table on many a time and there were times that it was actually overflowing in one direction as we tried our best to close off the network in that direction!! At just over £10, it's a great game and can be played solo or with a group of people. The only catch with the group play is that you cannot specifically say what cards you have in your hand which does lead to some face palming moments but it's all in good fun. £1500 is a decent budget - a rig with a 3070 would be a fantastic entry point and it'll already get you ahead of the PS5 for the entire generation. This could handle 1440p like butter and would be great for 4K gaming for years to come. Trouble is you'd probably need another £500 on the side for peripherals and a monitor. If you aim to spend £1000 on the device and £500 on the side, you'll probably restrict yourself to 2K gaming and then have a pricey upgrade route going forward if you wish. It will be perfectly satisfactory though and still offer a great gaming experience but for just a few hundred more, you could literally put yourself in the high-end gaming bracket and get the best out of what is technically possible. It's a great time right now to be getting a new PC and there are some excellent pre-built devices available in the UK at exceptional prices. 2K would offer the best value and see you comfortable for many years and with a 3070, you'd get all the extra visual effects. 4K would be more demanding as time wears on but right now, a card like that should be comfortable at maxing out games at 60fps.1 point -
