Me. That's me. I exist for angry reactions. As much as I love your enthusiasm philly, I am far too cynical to spend money on any alphas or early access anymore. DayZ has been in early access for as long as it's existed, so has Star Citizen and 7D2D. It's become a thing now, where people just keep tinkering on games for as long as they exist and it irritates me. We're effectively funding their hobby. Some games are awesome but when I pay for something, I expect a finished product. Which if you think about it is fucking retarded, as I also despise all the big-name publishers. I'm my own worst enemy, honestly.

So, Dead Matter, another attempt at beating or improving on DayZ has now entered a closed alpha. I took a punt on it while it was in its funding stage, so I have access to it but can't talk about it due to NDA. There was a bit of an issue with the keys and the game is already been delayed for various reasons so I note that there's a few haters of it already, though I think some people exist just to have angry reactions.

Friends to play games with! 😁 PC and Switch are my weapon. No seriously, just friends. lol. I've already got my partner to look after. I don't need another one. 😂 Been playing games since I was a kid. Dr Mario, Pacman and Pinball on the family computer. Pokemon on my red Gameboy. That was fun to play in black and white. Our first PC back in 1995, I remember playing Heretic (was only 8 and terrified of this game) , Hocus Pocus and of course, Windows Solitaire. Skipped gaming when I was growing up as a teenager because... hormones. enough said. (But, I still played Snake on my Nokia 5110) Got older (not wiser), but revisited gaming again. Nintendo DS came into my life and Pokemon re-revisited me along with Harvest Moon. Minecraft was amazing when it came to mobile and I gave that a whirl. Then I discovered Stardew Valley on Steam. This opened the doors to heavier games and I found out I like survival games. Not the dying part, but the bit where I don't die. Now I play 7 Days to Die, some Ark, Minecraft (never gets old), The Long Dark, Killing Floor, etc. I sometimes play Story games like Life is Strange and Deponia. Tavern Tycoon and Hospital Tycoon are good ones too. The Switch was then invented so I had to get that, obviously. Played Dragon Quest Builders 2 (cuter version of Minecraft with an actual story and RPG style) I played Nino Kuni (Wrath of the White Witch) and most recently played Dragon Quest XI. I still have Zelda Breath of the Wild and Zelda Links Awakening to play. On my Steam, I've got too many games and not enough time to play all of it. I probably have enough games to last me until I retire. lol. Or I just end up playing the same game over and over again. Re-play-ability baby. Anyway, I'll love you and leave you before I don't stop. Hi All, just a heads up to mention that the site has been updated significantly overnight and furthermore this morning so you will see some things a little out of place until I can fix it all correctly. This update significantly makes changes across the entire site, whilst we have had the long outstanding security fixed (massive thanks to @Shucker ) and also Commerce has been purchased and installed. Anything you notice looks slightly, feel free to mention it here - obviously i'll be already aware of certain things such as colours, text and alignment of menus/logos already. Hey Forever Gaming community, it's my first day amongst you all today 👋 I've been a gamer since the early 90s when Santa bought my brother and me a Sega Megadrive with Sonic the Hedgehog, moved on to, my favourite console of all time, the N64 where Link became my hero 😎 Fast forward to me being the only person in my halls of residence at uni with a Gamecube and holding awesome Super Smash Brothers drinking game parties 🍻😂. Apart from gaming, I'm a published short story writer so I love anything with a great narrative whether it's books, films, TV shows or anime. I'm currently brainwashing... Er... I mean... Encouraging my son into gaming with Pokemon. It backfired somewhat.... He caught more than me on sword on the switch.... He's 5!! If there is any interest, I was thinking about starting an anime thread if there isn't one already of course, and maybe a Jrpg discussion?.... What do you think?

Vampire: The Masquerade games were my pc gaming heaven and I was so excited for the console version... I still have the preorder in place, I'm optimistic that way 😎 If everyone else has posted an intro, I will too 👍

The Bloodlines fiasco is disappointing, I only discovered the first game recently and I modded it immediately. Welcome to FG by the way, you are now obliged to write an introductory post in the 'Introductions' section 😀

Cyberpunk 2077 is top of my list and I had Bloodlines on too but they made an announcement recently that release is to be pushed back to next year... It was going to be my Xmas present to myself 😕. I'm also looking forward to the remastered version of Kingdoms of Amalur that's out really soon.

Just a heads up - Now that we have a secure site we can get Facebook login to work as its not worked for a few years (i'm sure theres many back in the day that have this connection but can't get in because of it) so i'm planning to fix that as soon as i can. Also just found out the Google one has a fault so going to pick that up too. On the plus side, i've updated the Videos section so now need to see if its working as expected. Should also have new features which i'll try and highlight when i get chance

Ok so here's the deal. Monitors are all about context. If you're coming from a 17" CRT then even a basic little 24" 1080p LCD will blow you away. I've slowly climbed the ladder going through this exact path, and am currently gaming on a 34" 1440p 100hz MSI curved jobbie which cost a pretty penny (£350, still fuck all in monitor terms tbh) but I absolutely love it. I've always said that no matter what you game on, no matter whether it's PC, console, or even a fucking calculator - you're always staring at your monitor, so get something good. Nothing more disappointing than seeing someone spend £1k+ on a fancy PC with a graphics card putting out a bajillion FPS on a monitor that looks like it belongs in a 90s post office. When it comes to gaming, the things you actually interact with are where you need to spend the most money. Controllers, keyboards, mice, monitor, headset, etc. These are the things you're in direct contact with every moment of every gaming session so make sure it's exactly what you want, and that you're happy with it. @phil bottle has pretty much reached the pinnacle of affordable stuff with his ROG monitor, going another step up from that is - and this is no exaggeration - an increase of about ten fold. Monitors are second only to GPUs when it comes to diminishing returns. The more you pay, the smaller the bells and whistles get. 4k is a waste of money. I've been in this game long enough to be able to tell you that 4k gaming on the ps5 won't be 4k. It'll be pre-rendered cut-scenes and any gameplay will either be massively reduced in quality, or it'll run at 5fps. It'll very likely chop down to 1080p, or 1440p if you're lucky. To reliably game in 4k on a PC, you're looking at double, or even triple the price of a PS5 for the graphics cards alone. And that's on the lower end of the scale. To get good FPS, you're looking at a pair of 2080 supers, which will cost you £1500, and then you need the rest of the hardware to feed them with enough juice and enough pixels to render. A good 4k gaming PC is easily north of £3k, and that's without monitor or peripherals. No console is coming close to that for a long, long time. For refresh rates, 1ms is wasted on consoles. Unless you intend to go all competitive and use a keyboard and mouse, that 1ms will be cancelled out by using a controller anyway. To benefit from such short refresh rates, you really want a PC with keyboard and mouse. That all being said... I have a 32" 1440p monitor at home, it's a bit of a beast, it's by no stretch of the imagination a high-end monitor but it's still fantastic, @Plumbers Crack games on exactly the same one, maybe he'll pop in and give us his thoughts. In fact, it's this exact model. If you want it, it's yours for the price of postage and a few beer tokens in the FGFGFGFGFGFGFG to help @GazzaGarratt Dad with the site maintenance costs. Let me know. Tbf, my new 4K UHD TV has a built in game mode which seems very good and sharper/quicker than my old TV. Think I'll stick with that for now, then maybe get a monitor when the PS5 comes out. Seems to be good for now though, so may be alright

Ran a dungeon last night with Aaron, Marc and a random dude. None of us had ever done the dungeon before and it turned out to be a dlc one. Think it took us close to 90 minutes to finish it and a ton of deaths for all of us. One of the bosses had over 5 million hp and it wasn’t even the last one or the worst one 😂😂😂

I've tried to leave this thread unread because I wanted to give it some thought but I keep coming back round to just making the most of all the games I currently own and finding more time for all of them (somehow). So far I want to get much more into: DayZ - PC & PS4 (Our own FG server if poss) 7 Days to Die - PC (on our own FG Server) Green Hell - PC (co-op campaign) GT Sport - PS4 (FG Time trials) Assetto Corsa - PS4 (FG Time trials) Destiny 2 - PS4 & PC (Complete raids/challenges for FGers and myself. Plus triumphs. And dabble on PC setting more. Oh and DLC in Nov) Hunt Showdown - PS4 (More game nights on this. Prestige player at least once) Wreckfest - PS4 (Get enough Fame for new awesome cars. And platinum the game) FIFA 20 - PS4 (FG Pro Clubs evenings) CoD Warzone - (More grouping up and start to get into challenges more) XIII - PS4 (New release, remake of old xbox game I loved) And a million more games i'm sure but my brain won't think straight cos there's too many!

Oh man, absolutely was a blast. I've always wanted to do this for years but was hesitant as you never know how its gonna go. Glad we've managed to set it off now and what a start we had. We're already sitting one point away from the title with 3 games to go. Some epic plays last night. Diego 'Sebba' Forlan crashing the goals in, Tom scoring the 2 easiest goals in his life but looked like they could've missed, Pat 'Jordie' McGroin being an absolute unit in the middle whilst we all pissed ourselves laughing at his name most of the night, Phil's jinky runs down the wing setting up multiple goals...for us to all miss, and George's bullet goal, the first ever in the history of FG (not to mention every pass was like a bullet even if you were 2 yards away from him). I really think if we can keep meeting up at least once a week but if people are keen to meet then i'm down with that. Ultimately it doesn't need us all to be there, it just would be good if anyone plays games that come here and give everyone an update. If anyone else is on the fence and thinking about joining then they should give it a go! Honestly, proper good laughs and banter alongside some terrible/awesome football along the way. Seriously though, there was only one game we got hammered 3-0 so I think we did pretty darn well as for some its been the first FIFA games for years! I second that! Really enjoyed it last night guys thank you very much. Plus the fact I go down in FG history for the first goal scored is an honor haha we played really well as a team considering it was our first time out. I can't wait for the next one, I'm already missing the commentator shouting "FORLAN!"

Dunno about the rest of you, but I had a blast last night. Other than 2-3 occations where I should have passed the ball rather than take the shot, I felt I did pretty well. And other than the match where Tom was out of position 22 times 😂😂 I felt the rest of you played damn well too. Looking forward to next time already!

Yep, thats one of them. We could've had Grid mode last time but they've updated it so its cleaner and works far better now. Grid mode is the default, however i've opened up the option for everyone to select how they want to view the Forum section specifically: So now everyone can select their favourite way of seeing the forum pages. The options are: Table: A tradional forum index table view Grid: Displays forums as cards in a grid Fluid: A simpler dynamic listing topics with a forum filter box Everyone is free to use what they like. The default i'm pressing ahead with for now because the forums in this card format (and eventually added pics) definitely adds a colour to the forum page and gets us one step nearer to when we can look at a Homepage highlighting all other aspects of FG. The great thing about most things at FG is that we can give choice still even if the default is not exactly how you like it (although, i'd love it if it was).
