Ok, so still feeling crap I haul my sorry arse around Sainsburys to get back in time to accept a “hand made” present one of my sons has had made for his girlfriend, he doesn’t want her to find it and also to have a prearranged FaceTime with my other two sons Halfway through the chat, door bell goes...”hang on guys, I’ll just get Alan’s parcel” ”Mr Dowman?” says the guy in pink sunglasses...which match the big pink van, I know someone with a pink van....and who are all these people with phone cameras? That’s Rich and Stretch and DaveyDave...delivery guy takes of sunglasses “Hi Dave”...it’s Diddums....”oh, fuck off, no!” That was my total ungracious response to eight of FG’s finest turning up on my doorstep today to show me how easy it was to build a gaming rig from the parts that you really generous people had sourced. Due to my not being too well, I didn’t think to take any pictures but there must plenty about which will probably go up later Give the lads their due, the build only took about two hours and the results are fantastic. As with every PC, there are a couple of leads to sort out but that will be done by the time my son and I get the desk out of loft and rebuilt. We meet up in town later for a meal which was a blast and a chance for a face to face catch up including Rodd and Nicky who couldn’t get there earlier...and yes, all three of my sons were in on it as well! So thank you again to Dave, DaveyDave, Stretch, Rich, Phil, Lee, Greboth and Gary, all you other wonderful people in whichever way you helped, and thank you Kyla for the hamper! DZ is still a blast. We had a group of four going manhunt bounties and it’s crazy intense knowing everyone in the DZ is hunting you. Moving through alleyways to confuse other players, setting up ambushes all while securing objectives. Love it. This game is most likely my new daily driver for a long time.

Don't see it gotten more streamlined without it, but it doesn't bug me 🙂

Having played a few Invaded missions, while on the surface it seems like you're just replaying the normal main missions, the inclusion of Black Tusk troops and tech, and a mix up of how the missions progress has introduced enough variance to not make it a boring replay. I like it. I also like how you constantly have to be on your feet when travelling on foot as you may stumble into very heavily skilled/hostile Black Tusk groups, or how the control point you were going to pass is actually no longer friendly as it had been taken over again (and of course, taking it back gets you loot.)

How is this game running on PS4 right now? A mate at work (effinator123) is playing on PC and says it's good fun. So much that he stopped playing Destiny. That, and that he got pissed at RNG 😄

Quick update, up at 4 tomoz. It's alive. Barely, but it's alive. I got it all together but the PSU cables are too short so it is seriously ghetto at the moment with shit and bits hanging everywhere. I hope these are standard cables as a new PSU is north of 200 bones. I think the motherboard's fucked. It didn't output any picture so it got stripped down to barebones. One GPU? Nothing. Fuck. Remove all RAMS, install one, she boots. Error messages all over the shop but she booted. Insert second RAMS, nothing. Then I started shuffling and fucking around a lot more and it looks like ram slot 2 is borked. With a stick in 1 & 3 she fires right up but as soon as I put one in slot 2 she fails. So atm I've got more tests to run for diagnostics, she's on 16gb at the mo which will be plenty until I can afford a new X99 motherboard. It whinges like a little bitch though, because the motherboard was transplanted from the Alienware case it's lost a shitload of limbs and fans and likes to let me know every boot. Tomorrow I'll pop the second 980 in and see if I can maintain POST. I think it'll be fine but we'll see. Then I have a todo list as long as my arm to get it exactly where I want it but that's all part of the hobby I guess. I said no pics but fuck it, here's a sneaky little preview of what's going on:
