Popular Post GazzaGarratt 11,049
I was aimlessly looking into my screen for multiple nights here, thinking my life isn't in the most 'ideal' position. And then I looked at 2 things: 1) all the messages i've been recently being talking with and 2) my very first Private Message on here. Firstly, I really enjoy keeping in touch with you all, either on here or whatever way we possibly can. I think when things are difficult or different in your life its always good to keep perspective. Yeah, I'd love to give more to my family but actually i'm in a really good spot and i should be more grateful. I think lots of people don't realise how much other people, that are pretty much your mates that you game with and share the best moments of your life with, can have serious problems in their lives. From depression to critical accidents to marriage breakdowns to severe anxiety and then to life threatening scenarios, this list could go on and on. I'll never share personal conversations, thats not right to do so, but I think it's right for me to say this out loud that for these reasons alone is enough to keep me driving this place forward with the all the great people that support it so much. You see, I will always be there for you all. But it isn't just me. Forever Gaming will be here for you all. Whenever you need us. There's some wonderful people here that have some great views on life and offer amazing support, even when you think you don't need it. I can't do this without @Diddums @phil bottle @tronic44 @crispymorgan and everyone else outside of us that sort out the little adminy bits to keep it ticking over. The second and last point to make is when I was looking for @ChaosGladiator address in my PMs so I could send him a little pressie from the FGFGF, I came across @Stretch616's PM to me on October 26, 2014. It was a blog draft for our first ever Vault of Glass run. Its an amazing write up and made me realise not to feel so bad to nudge and nag (just like this post) some of you to remind you why we're here and why we're more than just a gamertag. I'll put his original post in a Spoiler below but I wanted to pick out a key message in his awesome write that I don't think ever got to a blog post in the end. It was this: However, Forever Gaming is not about the end result, it’s about the journey. I think it says it all. I'll be sharing this around with as many FGers, old and new as I can. I think Stretch's words are worth reading alone. And if you still with me by now, thank you. For that, its the reason why as of today you now see whole new sections for Guides, Tournaments, Photo Comps, Controller Hospital (Patch Notes below) and everything else that was already here. Thanks all for an amazing ride so far. I appreciate every single one of you coming back to FG, however long your absence has been. What I do hope this time though, is you just stay a little longer - you may not know or realise it, but your words and time taken out to read others words might make the key difference in their life. GGFG Family Spoiler Forever Gaming Take On and Beat The Vault Of Glass I think everyone who plays, has played or is looking to play Destiny is aware of the issues surrounding the development and current content/update situation. This subject has been done to death, resurrected, dragged through the mud, put back to bed and done all over again. I honestly don’t think there will be an end to the arguments on this, but I’m kinda bored of hearing the negativity that surrounds the game like a black cloud. I felt compelled to write about something that doesn’t get celebrated too much. At it’s heart, the game is fun and damn satisfying to play. It is even more so when you and a bunch of 5 friends get together to beat down the toughest challenge out there, the Vault of Glass. We aren’t the most elite raiders out there and this was not anything close to resembling a speed run! We’re pretty inexperienced, we had a team working across various time zones and a raid leader (me!) who had never been in charge of the raid. We weren’t doing it for gear, shards, energy or weapons. We just wanted to give a big 2 fingers to this raid and say “Today, we made you our bitch!”. So this past Friday night, 6 of us joined forces together to go for it. Myself, Chip, Ryan, Lee, Gary and Jsin made up the Fireteam and away we went. As mentioned above, I was the raid leader, but had never taken this position before and was quite nervous about making sure people were doing what they were meant to at the right times. I needn’t have worried. Everyone pulled together and listened to the instructions and gave advice back to me when we thought things weren’t working. It didn’t feel like a group of individuals anymore, it really felt like 1 cohesive unit working towards a common goal. Our first main task was that of the Templar fight. All went pretty smoothly with this until the very end. Due to a few deaths the oracle situation got out of control, we hit the enrage timer and all hell broke loose!! Minatours and harpys were everywhere and all looked lost. But thanks to a few smart plays by the guys, we all got back up on our feet and huddled up in the relic’s bubble. Then we let the bastard have it. Rockets, LMG and a few smartly placed sniper shots were enough to see off the Templar and give us all a big sigh of relief (and a much needed piss break!) We followed the pathway deeper down into the Vault and I tried my best to remember where I was going, I don’t think I’d have been popular to drag the guys through all that had gone before and then miss a chest because I took a wrong turn. Again, my concerns were unwarranted. We landed by the chest and it looked like I knew what I was doing all along, well at least I hope it did! Then onto what is probably one of easier parts of the raid, The Gorgons Lair. Essentially this is a game of cat and mouse between you and the Gorgons. The premise is simple, get the chest, and then get out. However, I seemed to make an absolute mess of the timings and this ended up being a complete pain in the ass to get through. But again, the support of the team was great, no frustration, no elitism, just solid encouragement. We eventually got through and made it too the Jumping Puzzle… Now let me make this clear, I think the wording of this section is a bit off. There is some form of a jumping puzzle that could be done to get through this part. However the most efficient way of doing this seems to be taking a big running jump and making full use of whatever double jump power your Guardian has. Then it’s just a case of hitting the platform (practically breaking both of your Guardian’s legs) and away you go. Again this sounds easier than it is for some, but again with some helpful advice from the team, we all got there. It was then time for the final room. I don’t want to go into the details of what is involved in the final room, as breaking it down into words will sound like a guide and that’s not what this blog is all about. However, I will say that the logistics of completing the final room in this raid are nothing short of mind blowing the first time you go through it. Every person will have a role to play over the course of this section and that role will evolve/change at a moment’s notice. This caused us a lot of headaches, as not everyone was familiar with the roles we were performing and the changes in the enemy attack patterns. But as with everything before it, we pulled together, we learnt, we adapted and we overcame. Then it was time for the big boy, Atheon. There is a very easy way to deal with Atheon and sadly due to a tiny glitch he’s actually possible to solo in a few seconds if dealt with correctly. However, Forever Gaming is not about the end result, it’s about the journey. So we set about our task of organising home and away teams, our fireteam layout and best gun loadout and went to task on him. Now this was another steep learning curve. We wiped more times than I care to think about and probably more times than I could count! But this was going to our night, we’d come too far to give up now. So we took stock, adjusted our plan and took it to him once again. Then we started to see some progress, he went to half health and then we went down. Next time it was a third health. We could all feel it was coming, then with a final push he finally went down. We’d done it, we’d took on the biggest challenge (apart from the hard version of this) this game has to offer. We’d not done it the fastest, we’d not done it in the best way, we’d not done it without dying, but you know what, we’d done it. We’d done it without knowing all the ins and outs. We’d done it our way. We’d done it as a team. We’d done it as friends. Most of all, we’d done it having fun, and I for one cannot wait for our next clan run. I hope to see you there Guardian BO7H B4RRELS, TigerBurge, Capn_Underpants and 7 others 5 5 Link to comment https://forevergaming.co.uk/forum/forums/topic/7125-june-2019-fg-update-perspective-thanks-in-advance-for-reading/ Share on other sites

That's the thing guys, you dont need to all over FG like you used to. It's about being here when you can. I'm around to remind people about their FG family. I think it's great you still come here, like I said, your words, reading posts and keeping in contact means a lot to people, more than just me. JBR-Kiwi 286
Whilst I don’t comment very much or very often nowadays I still always keep an eye out for what people are saying and seeing the discussions that occur on new and current games. I think life and getting older older has got in the way of how much time I used to spend on the forum and it’s a real shame because the friendships on here have meant that I no longer sit there just playing games by myself, because I’m actually a very shy and reserved person when I’m out of my comfort zone so thanks to everybody here.
