Who's Getting BO4?

I'm still on the fence and something is holding me back still.  Every time I think about grabbing it, I get a headache with all these thoughts going round my head. It's expensive but I can see myself getting value out of it. It's also polished but at the same time, connection, detection and general netcode issues will arise and infuriate. I'm also not massively dedicated to any of the 3 modes - actually zombies I probably wont play, MP may not keep me interested long before Christmas and Blackout I can't envisage playing over and over in a session.  The core MP maps look great but I'm also not a fan of the competitive design so that could put me off in the long run and COD games of late aren't oozing much longevity.

There's also Red Dead Redemption 2 to consider which could put a monumental hole in the player counts and I'll be looking to dedicate a lot of time into that instead. I really don't know what to do. My heart wants it but my head says fuck that you twat.

What is everyone else doing?

I'm definitely getting it but haven't decided on whether or not to go PC or PS4. Ultimately, I'm going to go where the players are. Unfortunately, it sounds like a bunch of FGers are none too happy about CoD this time around so I may end up going PC. [emoji20]
Ah dont worry about that, all the naysayers will end up getting it. Gary will be the first to crack [emoji14]

Joked to the wife via email at work that whilst she's out at the shops later she could easily pop and get Black Ops on the way. She even said it was a shit joke on the phone when I spoke to her later in the day.

Anyways, she's a legend. Second time she's ever done this.

One of the things holding me back is that WW2 didn't really live up to its cost.  Not enough game time to justify buying it.  Perhaps Alaex will want to get it with his birthday money

This is definitely a decent Call of Duty game. It's early days but I can already tell this is far better than any of the COD's we've had on the current gen. It may look like a BOTG version of BO3 with gameplay changes ripped from all other popular titles of late but actually it works fairly well despite some overly-chaotic moments and general frustrations. Definitely a much better game than it would appear in video and on paper.  Leading up to release and even during the beta it felt like the game was a desperate alternate BO3 with stacks of needless changes and excess fluff but all in all; everything functions pretty good and has clearly been well thought out.  Specialists are also done very well - not OP like BO3 but they offer enjoyment and tactical opportunities that benefit you and the team.

If you can get through the brutal slow leveling early on and the fact higher ranked players will be far better equipped; it can be a great experience.  It's not perfect by any means but the package is a whole represents decent value even without a campaign.

I too love the specialists. I just think the health maybe needs lowering to 100, or even try 125. The amount of times I've snuck up on someone, shooting them in the back for them to just turn round and pop me in 2 bullets is infuriating.

That is one thing that annoys me. Takes forever until you Prestige and unlock all the prestige challenges.

The weapon unlocks have huge gaps too so if you're primarily a AR/SMG user which most people are; there's only really 4 weapons available until level 25.  There's also not much available in terms of perks and equipment either.  Leveling weapons for key attachments can also take a bit of time so high ranked players are likely to be heavily kitted out with access to weapons, attachements, perks and equipment that lower ones don't have access to.

I need the ABR and Swordfish in my life. Loved the XR-2 in Blops 3. I've got a loooong way to go. Thankful for the permanent unlocks.
That Swordfish is over powered. Can see it getting nerfed real soon

I noticed that about the perks too. There's nothing really new they've added, apart from Fog of War which I haven't even tried yet. 4 in each tier seems a little on the small side too?

Hey, what is a direct action kill?

Think Dan is right here - you essentially have 389 'EKIA' with 200 of them being 100% damage dealt kills of only your doing.  That leaves 189 assists or clean up kills where you fired the final bullet or contributed damage in which a team mate finished the job.
