  1. I've access to both of these with game pass, but I've heard a lot of negative stuff regarding 5. I've been giving 4 a go and have been enjoying it so far, but does anyone have a preference on which is better?
  2. Episode 27 is LIVE!! Spicy topic this week, with a new OGL (Open Gaming Licence) being leaked that WoTC seems to be redoing has a lot of people up in arms. We talk about it among other things.
  3. Zombie Division. Hard pass. I'm so done with the whole zombie genre.
  4. I never tried any of the battle network games. I wanted to give them a try at one time, but I've always prefered my Mega Man games as the 2D side-scrollers I've enjoyed for years. I wasn't ibg on the Legends series either due to the clunky 3D, tank controls they implemented.
  5. Episode 26 is LIVE.... Literally. We're Live right now on Youtube giving our Dice to Pixels Awards to our picks of 2022! Check it out live if you can, VOD will be up later too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJSSuWVs9PM&ab_channel=DicetoPixels
  6. I really like the feel of the Dual Sense too. My biggest complaint is it's durability. I've had 3 fuck up on me, which I ended up fixing one with parts from the other 2. The springs in the L2/R2 triggers are fragile as hell thanks in no small part to the haptic feedback. It makes me wonder if they've managed to at least address this issue with newer version of the controller of even the edge.
  7. Since I bought a Series X, I've put buying this on the back burner. I've got my Elite 2 and friggin love that thing. Typical Sony though.
  8. I was interested in this until I found out it's a straight up graphical upgrade. I played the hell out of it on PSP way back, so unless it becomes a freebie, I'm gonna skip this one.
  9. I gave the PSVR a go a few years back. I wasn't all that impressed with it. I think VR will eventually be a much bigger deal once the technology becomes much smaller rather then the big-ass headset required from the current crop. I think most of the reason it's not as popular is due to the space, as well as the aforementioned headset. It's funny though, there is always something that takes a while to adopt with new innovations in gaming. The analog stick, dual analog controls, motion controls, touch pad/touch screen controls, and such. Or maybe I'm just an old bastard that has a hard time with change. LOL!
  10. Ok. After spending some time with this over the past couple days, here's my thoughts. There seems to be a trend lately with having gameplay zapped in from the early 2000s. Visually, the game looks great and while the story is interesting, it gave me a lot of Gears of War vibes in the cheese department. The gameplay is straight-up, old-school 3rd person action-adventure from a very poor perspective that makes tracking enemies challenging. If the camera had some more distance, like Devil May Cry, behind it, I feel the action on-screen would be better conveyed. A lot of encounters, specifically some boss ones, have that annoying old-school rule of constantly throwing tons of ads and projectile enemies at you that draw your attention constantly away from the boss at hand. A few either at the start or somewhere in the middle that are finite would be fine, but having them constantly respawn is just lazy game design and honestly ruins the fun in what could have been a great game. If this released in the early 2000s, it'd have probably been a GoTY candidate. Wait for a big sale or even a freebie on this one and save your money.
  11. I just picked this up tonight. it was on sale so Carl and La convinced me to snatch it up. I'll probably give this a go at some point this upcoming week.
  12. I've said it for most of the year that mine would be Elden Ring. FS took everything they've learned with the soul's formula and perfected it in my opinion. Vampire Survivors created a whole new genre of games and made me add that to have a co-GoTY. Then, High on Life came in at the end and just made my day. To sit back and just enjoy a game that didn't take itself seriously while enjoying almost every aspect of it, I'm gonna give it my Xbox GoTY easily. Horizon FW didn't really do anything new to me. It was fun, but felt more of the same. Sifu was fantastic. I really enjoyed getting into that one and learning out to dodge and combat multiple enemies in different ways. Frustrating at times, yes. but worth it. GoW Ragnarok was a fun one even though the Atreus parts really sucked IMO. RE:Village started off really good before devolving into a more action focused game which kind of sucked to be honest. Especially after the doll house area. I know there's more I can't think of off the top of my head, but it was a decent year for games to be sure. 2023 should be interesting too.
  13. Not surprising. Yahtzee shit on it for this week's Zero Punctuation as well. Shame, but when it's basically "Shitty Dead Space" what do we expect. Lol
  14. Now that we've bought a Series X, the next big purchase will be a Steam Deck for @Rumelylady
  15. It was a tie between the 360 and dualshock 4 for the longest time until I finally got the xbox elite 2 controller. The extra grip on that beauty, on top of the modular changes you can make to thumbsticks, D-pad, triggers and thumbstick tension is just awesome. It became my go-to PC controller until this past week when I finally bought a Series X. Honorable mention goes to the SNES controller and the Stadia Controller.
  16. Episode 25 is LIVE!!!! Due to a wicked winter storm hitting us here in southern Ontario, we were unable to hook up to record a new episode. But, we had one up our sleeve in case of an emergency like this. We talk about the dreaded micro transactions good and bad. Enjoy folks, and Merry Christmas!
  17. I just finished this tonight and man, that was fucking fun! does it do anything revolutionary to improve the standard FPS formula? Nope. But, it was a blast from beginning to end. Set your controller down without pausing and leave it. After a few moments, the main gun "Kenny" will chastise and lecture you on not pausing and say things like "who the fuck does that anyway?" I'd chalk this one up as my top xbox game of the year. So much so, that I may do another run through just to finish up some achievements. Awesome game!
  18. Holy bloody hell, do Bethesda, Rockstar and Nintendo have stock in Square Enix? Either that, orr they've been taking notes from them.
  19. For sure. Definitely wait for a sale or the freebie. I'd honestly file it under "Nothing else to play, and nothing coming out anytime soon."
  20. This one dropped near the end of November, and it almost feels like a Western, vampire slaying God of War 2018 kinda game. The action is paced roughly the same as the new GoW series, with the exception of not being in an open world. Instead, you run a series of missions, in which, you can find a host of collectibles scattered about. It's been a fun go of it, but it feels really dated. I almost feel like if this released during the early 360/ps3 era, it would've been one of the most talked about games. I'd wait for a price sale though. I think this one will be a freebie at some point considering it's not a AAA studio/publisher. But, It's one that'll be fun playing through.
  21. I might have to pick this up and some point. Every time I tried to get into it, something else released that took my attention for long periods of time. Maybe now, I can get into it proper.
  22. The full release launched a few months back and now, some new DLC released for this one on the 15th. This game is seriously worth it and possibly a GoTY candidate for a lot of people. Such an easy concept that just feels really fun to play.
  23. Man, there have been so many. I really liked the Dreamcast VMU memory cards. At the time, I thought those were amazing little additions that doubled in some cases as a portable game. Damn near every namco controller they made for a ridge racer or rage racer game. the R4 controller Jogcon was really weird to use. I agree with @J4MES OX4D on Game Boy accessories. Those were a necessity in a lot of cases.
  24. Ok, I'm really enjoying this game. It's still got me laughing and chuckling along as I fight my way through each bounty mission. I picked up my second living gun, which is a shotgun/disc launcher that can create platforms in hot wall areas. I also just got a Series X, so running this on that is silky smooth too.
