  2. I just saw this is only 3.29 on cdkeys so I may well buy this later 😄

I won't lie, I was a bit miffed I couldn't stay on last night ^_^ How did you guys get on?
  4. I mean both my granddads still have plenty of hair so I cant say I have really considered whether or not I would lose it. Lifes too short to worry about it ^_^
  5. I quite enjoyed this game when it came out, however I had it on PS4 and the way that version has sort of been abandoned leaves me with well why should I spend more money with them to get this latest update. By all accounts this update won't come to the current console version and the talk is that it will be a whole new release for the PS5 / Series X consoles.
  6. I enjoyed the last one, I still miss the turn based combat and is partly what made the series a bit special for me. That said it looks grand, it has that grand scale you would hope for, visually it looks fantastic and you can see there appears to be a limit on 3 you are running around with but I do wonder how they will deal with qty of characters, will we see the groups split up like in the first game so Cloud and co do Red XIII's arc and Yuffie and whoever goes off elsewhere. Meeting Vincent could be quite cool too. 2 discs, call me mad but seeing that gives me some excitement, it suggests a big game and FF games have always been that. I am not entirely sure how far this game will go as far as the story is concerned though so that in itself will be interesting, we have come a fair way already with just the first game and getting the pacing right to spread them through 4 games will be key.
  7. There seemed to be a fair bit of interest for this one. It is not a game I have ever played but I would love to give it a try with you lot. I can see it being full of shennanigans and I am prepared to go and get myself a case of beer in anticipation. Do you think you can kill everyone off? Are your smarter than the average FG gamer and think you can get away with it? Is there someone you just dont like and want to show them? Then Among us is the game to play. Would be great to get a fair few on for this and really make it interesting ^_^
  8. Haha I will remember that for future event write ups! 😄
  9. So chatting to James and Lee we are going to make a bit of an effort to get events up a bit more regularly and to start it off as it is such short notice it would be good to try and get a fair few on for some Call of Duty for some private matches! So let us know if you are about and join up to get sniped across the map by @Macca89, decimated by @Greboth's chopper gunner, a shotgun in the back by @Diddums or battered to death by @slamminbones shield! 😄 For those that join, please save any screenshots and videos and we will look to collate them into a video. To go with all that, I would recommend something with a good percentage of alcohol and make sure you bring a sense of humour!
  10. So there have been rumblings the last few years that there will be a Final Fantasy IX remake. So in the last few days there has been a fan release of an FFIX remake demo just to show what the game could be like and I won't lie, it looks dreamy - In addition to this Jeff Grubb who has been known to have inside information of the gaming industry previously has stated the remake is real and in the works and to my delight will retain the turn based combat. Final Fantasy IX Remake Reportedly Set To Retain Traditional Turn-Based Combat - TwistedVoxel TWISTEDVOXEL.COM The often rumored Final Fantasy IX remake is reportedly set to retain the traditional turn-based combat from the original game. Speaking... I can tell you for a fact that if this turns out to be true I will be picking up any collectors edition as this to date is my number 1 game (closely followed by the witcher 3) So did anyone play the original, would you be looking forward to a true remake?
  11. How did I miss this thread, that's an impressive collection and puts mine to shame @Sir.Arthur, all your hardware is in such lovely condition as well!!
  12. £700 plus the price of the console ^_^
  13. No, I think it works with the PS4, it's just easier with one of each. Someone spoke to me about it years ago and I think the idea is say you buy it on your psn account, set your partners playstation as your primary ps4 and then set yours as her primary PS4, then log onto your own account on your own machine (not the one you set as primary) and it should give you access to the digital games on the other account. Least I think that's the principle ^_^ Sorry if I have confused you more though, maybe a youtube search might be better! 😄
  14. You would need to look into it but I think if you gameshare on PS4 i.e. set each others consoles as primary and then bought it digitally I think you could buy one copy but still both play it. I have never done it though but maybe something to look into? As an example -
  15. So I have seen a few more videos of this the last couple of days and the tech itself is actually quite exciting, what it's capable of I mean admittedly they do still look odd and I don't think that will change anytime soon. I don't think there are many of us that have experience with VR tech here? But if you have you will know that it is exciting (especially when you first play it) and it's a form of gaming just like no other. This headset is the first of the new generation of headsets, it's where the end goal is and that $3499 premium is so that you can be the first to experience it. The goal one day is essentially the riddance of a lot of our tech in the home and this is the first taste of it. Who need's to spend a grand on a tv, half a grand on a games console, however much on a great audio system to compliment it, another grand on a laptop or tablet device if you can just buy one of these and it does everything that they can do in one device? It sit's on your face so you don't need to find space for that tv in your lounge, you can conjure stuff in the air right in front of you (I mean as a designer of many things, not just work related I can tell you that excites me). If you notice on the videos as well there is a dial that allows you to block out what is going on around you and essentially turn it into a vr headset elsewhere so you could escape to other realms or worlds. That said it is still in it's infancy, this product is priced at a premium for those who can afford it and one to experience the future. It is still years away for the likes of us (unless any of you are extremely wealthy and keeping it quiet) but it's quite exciting really especially when you consider how quick ai could advance (admittedly that is scary in itself).
  16. This isn't a huge upgrade on the 2, it's very much quality of life improvements that I can see so far. If you have never given VR a go though it really will blow your mind the first time you experience it (if we ever get invited to your garden bar / outhouse I will bring mine with 🙂 ) I must admit I have not seen it so I will check it out!
  17. So recently I have had a bit of a focus on psp and ps vita games, the vita games I have 3 new additions and I am finding the games already pricey to collect so be mindful of that if you ever want to collect vita stuff. That said if you want to begin a collection and keep it wuite affordable, psp is a nice place to start, the last couple of months I have picked up a fair few games (most of them being under a tenner) and they are all fun exciting games in my eyes, many of which I have not played to date -
  18. I wont lie it does look brilliant but considering most countries on the planet are in a cost of living crises I dont see how anyone could afford that
  19. So apple just announced their augmented reality headset with the hope they can muscle in on the vr market. They only cost a measly kidney at $3499 -

  21. Where this may affect things is game pass, if Microsoft chooses to go down this route and sell Activision titles only by distributors it would mean that the UK could end up being the only country that COD does not come to game pass ^_^ Or at least that's what I read and tbh I would find that quite funny 😄

  23. If you are into any sim city esque games do not give the jurassic world evolution games a miss, I played the first one and they are really well done 🙂
  24. So I am going to try and get into the habit of doing little write ups when I complete a game, I really enjoy my single player games, particularly RPG's and though my gaming time has diminished in recent years and then a lot of that is absorbed by FG I am still trying to play a few games they just may take longer to complete. So I will start with the reason I play these games, the story - I really enjoyed the story, as I reached the end I could see that there are obviously options for different endings but I felt that the route I went down was more heroic, the sort of story to go down in legend (in game). There is betrayal, there is friendship, there is romance. It felt very old school Final Fantasy if I am being honest! Visually it is lovely, if you are into this style of game it looks great and the art style has a charm to it. The game really excelled with it's combat, battles could be challenging and you really had to think about how you approached some of them. If anyone grew up playing Final Fantasy Tactics on the GBA like I did, this will bring back those fond memories, it's not quite as slow as FF but it did have a steady pace to it. Turn based combat with a grid system but you were not punished in the way that Fire Emblem tends to where you lose characters when they die in a battle. Anyway definately one of the more charming games I have played recently and it definately left me wanting more. If anything I felt like it all came to a bit of an abrupt end and there was still some story left to be told which was a bit of a shame (maybe they had planned dlc?) But yeah out of 10, I would give it an 8 🙂
