I bought The Talos Principle a few weeks back and it's a great game. Sadly some thieving twats would rather pirate the product than pay for it whilst screwing the developers. Thankfully; the devs have had the last laugh on anyone obtaining the game illegally as their game contains a game breaking bug which for a change in 2014, has been deliberately implemented to give pirates the middle finger. It didn't take too long for one of them to obliviously humiliate themselves for the world to see..

This must be a humiliating situation for Microsoft and their brand of so-called 'elite' servers. DDOS is extremely hard if not impossible to prevent but it's how companies prepare and manage such situations that matter. I'm willing to bet that most worldwide banks at some point get attacked this way and it wouldn't surprise me if some are being DDOSed 365 days a year but it's how they branch out information flow and connection data that prevents such overloads. The Xbox Live network is probably at minimum data capacity seeing that they've barely sold 10m units of the One and the 360 community has waned of late so them getting hampered this way with such a low personnel-flow just shows that their Azure breed of servers are pretty worthless at current capacity or standard. If they can't cope with the current traffic influx of human and manipulated data; it's not really going to bode well for the future.

I don't like online-only gaming not just because of potential server issues and DDOS attacks but these games will be worthless when they hit retro status and the severs get shut down and wiped.

Lizard Squad has been DDOS'ing PSN and Live for the last 6 months. They've always given a heads-up beforehand on their future attacks and have pretty much always been successful. The only one time they didn't carry out their claims was Advanced Warfare Day Zero probably because they were too busy playing the game! Twats.

Apparently Xbox Live has been down ALL day and people who have received an Xbox One for Christmas can't even play games offline because of the day one update! Is PSN still down too?

Did you see the 'You're Fired' programme afterwards? They ripped the piss out of him about it going so poorly, he was trying to escape through window at the 50th floor of a skyscraper! Wasn't quite as brutal as these though My fave moment I think

Terrible scenes in Glasgow today after an 'out of control' bin lorry mounted the pavement and ran over a number of Christmas shoppers killing 6. Completely forgot about this thread Enjoyed the final and thought the whole series was very good despite probably 75% of the candidates being simply awful. Thought Mark deserved to win overall - good business idea and seems a very motivated and likable person to work with. Very professional approach and someone that knows the space very well. Bianca didn't really stand out massively in the process probably due to a load of egos getting more airtime but her record was impressive and it seems her business idea plugs a gap in a very old market which is unusual in this day and age. Could be on to a winner there although the brand needs a bit of tweaking as does her target audience. She wobbled a bit in the boardroom regarding price and approach and made a bit of a u-turn which went against her I think. Wonder who will place Nick Hewer now he's leaving after a decade? Ricky Martin who won it a couple of years ago could be a good shout but for pure entertainment; has to be Claude Littner

Steam sale has been shit so far. Current deals on offer with the featured games are the same ones that were discounted to the same tune in the last 4 weeks. The community choice deals are crap and many other titles haven't had their full discount applied yet based on past prices.

With games like this; if I don't get my foot in the door from day one; I feel like I'm lagging behind everyone else and have too much catching up to do. I've been wanting to get into the likes of LoL and DOTA2 for a while but just finding the time and determination to learn a whole new game and it's features can be tricky. I've played games before where I'm late to the party and just end up being clueless and useless. Lol is highly regarded so hopefully I'll be able to get into it and have some basic knowledge very soon but sometimes the prospect of other games on offer especially on PC just tempts me the other way. Hopefully we can get summat going soon and I'll do a bit of research to get some understanding.

You're hooked already and will be wanting the Oculus Rift next.... I actually bought one of the cheap trucks to start (can't remember what make though) but as soon as I got my beasty loan in; I went for the most powerful Scania as they are by far the best and then gradually began to kit it out and uprade. All the trucks have the Speed Limiter equipped which caps the maximum speed at 55mph (I think) but if you disable this in the options menu and roll with the Scania down the German Autobahns; you can go insanely fast - I think I was doing 110mph once and the 19 hour trip from Poland flew by The Scania's are pretty expensive though and may seem a bit of a leap for beginners so it's worth sampling some of the lower-end trucks and build up gradually to the beasts like the Scania FH.

Good stuff! Yeah, I did a load of quick jobs, made a few pounds and then just grabbed a large loan to get the business up and running. I think it's one of the best and most successful games ever to hit Steam - it's a great balance between fun and realism with a really good career mode and a title that you can just pick up and play. The price is incredible too!

From what I remember; they said November last year that Heists would be available the following month; December 2013 and we didn't get them on the 360/PS3. It all went very quiet after that until the summer when Rockstar once again confirmed/promised that Heists would finally be here in June. Once again it all went quiet and instead we got some shitty free cosmetic DLC instead. Soon after the PS4/One/PC versions are in the works and Heists once again comes out of the woodwork but people are then forced to buy the game again which was even more expensive than the original last year to get the best possible experience for something that was supposed to be guaranteed a release this time last year. I don't think they've intentionally withheld it but the communication and broken promises has been a frustrating saga to say the least. Heists has massive potential as a concept if they get it right and will add a new dimension to the games on the current gen and PC but the whole situation over the entire year has left a few people let down. Still not having a release date doesn't fill me with confidence and I'd really like to know from Rockstar what has gone wrong with it seeing that last year it was 3 weeks away from a confirmed release and then it all went quiet for 7 months then disappeared once again.

Just bought it! It was great on the PS4 and I thought I'd give it a go again. I've added Flight Sim X to my library to go with Hotline Miami. Will probably pick up Dark Souls 2 and Mark of the Ninja tomorrow. My wallet has already taken a hit and we still have two weeks to go

Cheers Phil! Got plenty of time to sort summat out anyway. I'll keep checking the official site for ticket news and on-sale dates over Christmas. I used my membership to get the Arsenal 2nd leg tickets (a tout for the final ) but if I remember rightly; the first leg against Burnley back in 09 went on general sale and the home leg for Sheff Utd is the first fixture on the 19th too by the look of things so they might do again depending on demand but we shall see indeed..
