  1. MOTD is going to be crazy later! According to the running order; the fourth match in contains 6 goals whereas normally the ones down the pecking order are usually a 1-1, 1-0 or 0-0. I just hope they have enough time to cram in all the entertainment - if I were the BBC; I wouldn't even bother showing the Villa game
  2. 5-3 What a match! Phil's there just playing Saints Row IV casually
  3. MOTD is going to be good tonight! Spurs leading Chelsea 3-1 at half time too..
  4. The engine is actually from 1999 by ID Tech and is a Quake III mod. It's just been re-written countless times. AW actually is running of the IW3 engine used in Ghosts which is also just a modified version of the one first seen in COD 4 back in 2007. I actually think SHG did well getting so much out of such a stale piece of kit with AW as I really thought IW had taken the tech as far as they could with Ghosts but certainly the current COD engine is being stretched to hell and it'll soon be holding back the franchise on a very noticeable level. Hopefully Activision will invest in the new Unreal 4 engine whatever the cost because if they don't; come 2019 when these current consoles cycle ends; COD will look and feel extremely past it.
  5. P2P as in Peer-to-peer. It's actually insulting that a brand of this magnitude still utlises this over dedicated servers considering the money it generates per user. They have several branches of them probably being saved for League Play but this on top of SBMM is just unworkable and inexcusable. I remember the days playing Quake III on Dreamcast with 100,000+ others and dedicated servers.
  6. Although the exo movement is pretty well implemented and a welcome change in AW; I don't think I could tolerate another COD like this anytime soon or a futuristic one once again. We've had 3 future-based games on the spin and I'm finding the franchise getting more tedious by the release. AW is a great game and probably the best since BO1 but my interest is waning big time of late and I'm completely tired of the same old BS associated with the games. Lag, P2P, host migrations, weapon balancing, glitches, campers etc... it's all there still even with a 3 year cycle. I'm really pinning my faith in Treyarch next year and hope they do an old-skool WAW2 or something in between both the Black Ops titles. It'll probably be my last COD ever as the shitty IW and Ghosts 2 wouldn't interest me after that. If it's BO3 and its futuristic again; I really couldn't give a toss even if I do respect Treyarch and the work they've done over the years. COD also feels really dumbed-down in recent installments and the exo movement and no-recoil weapons just make things so piss-easy, it doesn't feel challenging or satisfying anymore. If AW happened 3 years ago it would be one of the best in the series but COD is getting really stale for me even though AW is a perfectly good attempt by SHG.
  7. It's quite difficult to say because Sledgehammer have been tweaking and nerfing the weapons for fun ever since release but as said above, the AR's are the force in this game. The best weapons are usually found from Supply Drops as their attributes differ from the regular weapons. I have an HBRa3 Elite which has +2 more damage that it's counterpart which was already overpowered in its own right so the elite gun is pretty much unstoppable. I haven't played since the BAL 27 was adjusted but that weapon was the 'Famas' equivalent in AW and even nerfed; it still is OP apparently.

  10. What a couple of ugly motherfuckers.
  11. I bought The Talos Principle a few weeks back and it's a great game. Sadly some thieving twats would rather pirate the product than pay for it whilst screwing the developers. Thankfully; the devs have had the last laugh on anyone obtaining the game illegally as their game contains a game breaking bug which for a change in 2014, has been deliberately implemented to give pirates the middle finger. It didn't take too long for one of them to obliviously humiliate themselves for the world to see..
  12. This must be a humiliating situation for Microsoft and their brand of so-called 'elite' servers. DDOS is extremely hard if not impossible to prevent but it's how companies prepare and manage such situations that matter. I'm willing to bet that most worldwide banks at some point get attacked this way and it wouldn't surprise me if some are being DDOSed 365 days a year but it's how they branch out information flow and connection data that prevents such overloads. The Xbox Live network is probably at minimum data capacity seeing that they've barely sold 10m units of the One and the 360 community has waned of late so them getting hampered this way with such a low personnel-flow just shows that their Azure breed of servers are pretty worthless at current capacity or standard. If they can't cope with the current traffic influx of human and manipulated data; it's not really going to bode well for the future.
  13. I don't like online-only gaming not just because of potential server issues and DDOS attacks but these games will be worthless when they hit retro status and the severs get shut down and wiped.
  14. Lizard Squad has been DDOS'ing PSN and Live for the last 6 months. They've always given a heads-up beforehand on their future attacks and have pretty much always been successful. The only one time they didn't carry out their claims was Advanced Warfare Day Zero probably because they were too busy playing the game! Twats.
  15. Apparently Xbox Live has been down ALL day and people who have received an Xbox One for Christmas can't even play games offline because of the day one update! Is PSN still down too?
  16. I see The Interview has been released minimally - anyone planning to see this now?
  17. F1 2014 £10.19 Mark of the Ninja £2.19 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Sweet deals finally! Plus The Evil Within £11.89 Far Cry 4 £35.99
  18. Did you see the 'You're Fired' programme afterwards? They ripped the piss out of him about it going so poorly, he was trying to escape through window at the 50th floor of a skyscraper! Wasn't quite as brutal as these though My fave moment I think
  19. Could very well be a triple team kill right off the bat!
  20. Terrible scenes in Glasgow today after an 'out of control' bin lorry mounted the pavement and ran over a number of Christmas shoppers killing 6. Absolute tragedy and a year on from the Clutha Helicopter disaster this time last year in the city. http://news.sky.com/story/1396275/bin-lorry-crashes-into-shoppers-six-dead
  21. Wow that's really good!
  22. Completely forgot about this thread Enjoyed the final and thought the whole series was very good despite probably 75% of the candidates being simply awful. Thought Mark deserved to win overall - good business idea and seems a very motivated and likable person to work with. Very professional approach and someone that knows the space very well. Bianca didn't really stand out massively in the process probably due to a load of egos getting more airtime but her record was impressive and it seems her business idea plugs a gap in a very old market which is unusual in this day and age. Could be on to a winner there although the brand needs a bit of tweaking as does her target audience. She wobbled a bit in the boardroom regarding price and approach and made a bit of a u-turn which went against her I think. Wonder who will place Nick Hewer now he's leaving after a decade? Ricky Martin who won it a couple of years ago could be a good shout but for pure entertainment; has to be Claude Littner
  23. Steam sale has been shit so far. Current deals on offer with the featured games are the same ones that were discounted to the same tune in the last 4 weeks. The community choice deals are crap and many other titles haven't had their full discount applied yet based on past prices.
