  1. Half time? More like halfway through the first half lasting until the start of the second

  3. If you check your Steam library in the client; you'll see that Evolve is available to install for closed beta participation. I think this is running until Monday. I also think this game will be a disastrous flop
  4. Update and apology http://www.reddit.com/r/h1z1/comments/2sopo9/update_about_airdrops_and_my_personal_apology/
  5. Sony are offering refunds already https://twitter.com/j_smedley/status/556142754254704641 John Smedley has really inadvertently shot himself in the foot with that tweet regarding the P2W controversy! Nice gesture for them to do this but a lesson learned in misleading marketing it seems. Still; that should make the community a happier place as people are raging crazy today!
  6. I recommend the old Total Wars Tommy if you want to give them a go. Agree with Bob about the games getting more complex in recent years. Total War Rome or Medieval are perfect games to get to grips with and despite them being older titles; they're the best in the series still for me.
  7. Let us know how you get on Phil if you manage to connect to a server later - 30min to 5 hour wait for most people so far Certainly not the best of launches but I'll be keeping a close eye on this.
  8. We still have Total War Attila next month coming out. Shame they botched up the release of Rome II but the Emperor Edition is supposed to be excellent so I may have to do a re-install. Can't wait for Warhammer - the Total War games at their best and by far the greatest strategy games on offer IMO. The mix of turn-based map management combined with real-time battles on a grand scale is just outstanding. Great way to sink 6 hours straight in a game
  9. You played it yet Phil? A lot of negative reviews coming in complaining about a P2W structure and about devs 'lying'. Gonna have to sift though some first impressions just so I get the gist of it and if I've missed anything that might put me off...
  10. Yep! It was either there or a restricted view in the shelf side - I sat behind the pole in the lower tier years and years back for the Arsenal game and it still cost something like £68 for the ticket I could see probably 30% of the pitch and 100% of the Arsehole fans That's much appreciated Phil - I have the day off but I don't know the crack work-wise next day but I'll keep you posted. If I have the Thursday off; I may take you up on your kind offer but if I don't; I'll have to race back to Oxford; get back at 2am and start getting ready for work Will let you know though
  11. Delayed again! 2 more hours Fuck this. I'll crack on with the DL in the morning when I'm doing a dump It'll still say '1 hour' at 5am probably!
  12. Jesus christ it's back up to 2 hours Doesn't look like I'll be downloading tonight let alone playing it
  13. Haha good stuff Phil!
  14. Managed to get one in the end! Only North upper right at the very top sadly but there were only about 9 tickets in the whole ground left Can't wait to get back down there for the first time in years
  15. I see Microsoft have begun their Minecraft DLC charade by Xbox exclusive content. Firstly, it's The Simpsons skins DLC
  16. Civilization Beyond Earth is free to play until Monday and is £17.99 in the sale
  17. Game has been delayed............ .....by a few hours I may only get time to DL and install today. Bugger
  18. @phil You still going to the Sheffield United match Wednesday?
  19. Cracking crowd at Portman Road last night but quite a tough task for Ipswich in the end. It was extremely tight (and boring ) until Shane Long scored (great finish) but the hosts just couldn't get anything going in the final third. Southampton really pressed Ipswich on the ball which made it hard for them to get comfortable on the ball and create any solid chances. McGoldrick should have passed instead of shooting towards the end of the first half as that was a rare and very decent opportunity and the only other clear chance was the header just after half time. The Saints didn't really threaten much either but they looked solid and not in any real danger to concede. Southampton have looked incredible all year and there is a real possibility of them getting a CL place. Ipswich also have a real chance of getting back into the Prem from what I've seen of them on the box this season. Poor old Millwall fans last night Great win for Spurs too after being 2-0 down after 8 minutes!
  20. Apparently if you play DOTA2; you can become fluent in Russian within 6 weeks. I'm really tempted to give it a try
  21. Still on the fence with this one. I'm pretty bored already with AW but I still have Final Stand to sift through in detail on BF4 and that game is running to an immense standard now. I saw the PC version beta will have a 64 man Conquest mode with 6,400 tick-rate so I'm definitely going to give it a try. The game costs £49.99 on Origin but I can get it for £22.49 elsewhere so for that kinda money; could definitely be worth a punt but I don't think it will have the booming grand scale of BF4 though.
  22. Game comes out at 6pm GMT. I've done quite a bit more research into the game and still not completely overwhelmed but the inventory system and crafting looks decent plus the anti-cheat and server-hop preventions are major positives. Only Sony servers will be available for the time being but they can support up to 500 players at this present time I think with a view to increase to 1,000 which will certainly make things interesting. The real-time weather and base building really adds to the concept too. Could be a welcome temporary departure from DayZ until they make sweeping improvements. I can't see H1Z1 dethroning DayZ but it certainly has some good material going forward and probably less technical woes. The game also looks like it could hold a steady framerate throughout which is something DayZ has struggled with and will continue to do so even into completion IMO. I will probably have a look at H1Z1 later but I'm only going to invest in the bog-standard edition for starters.
  23. I was initially interested in H1Z1 but it looks like a really weak DayZ clone with a bland and empty setting plus mediocre mechanics. The engine looks ancient also. I'll still give it a shot tomorrow probably but my expectations are pretty minimal. Can't believe we have to pay to play the alpha but the final release is free - should be the other way round in all honesty.
