  1. A terrible result for gamers and mainstream gaming today but an unsurprising one to say the least - a US company was never going to lose on home turf against challenges that may benefit a Japanese one. The good news is that it forced Microsoft into making some calamitously painful admissions in court such as only buying Bethesda (who they didn't even want) to stop Sony getting a one year Starfield exclusive, and the game pass being of such incredibly detrimental value to external developers, that they'd have to own them outright just to make it a profitable move. Also MS have had to make some serious concessions to bulldoze this deal through to an more acceptable standard so smaller companies wont be hamstrung as bad as first feared but it's still yet to be truly assessed. The FTC did the right thing and the case really has exposed MIcrosoft's absolutely catastrophic approach to gaming in the last two generations and their inability to remotely compete with Sony and Nintendo even after trying to buy swathes of the industry to shut rivals out. No matter how much they blow on acquiring another company they probably don't even want either, they will never get their dignity back and a lot of developers are going to think twice about Game Pass publication now.
  2. Trailer is getting absolutely roasted and my god they done Haaland dirty - WTF is with his face and animations in that walk!?
  3. It was ultimate two catastrophic fuck ups - firstly rebranding because apparently 'e' is the buzzword (or letter) and they wanted to go down an eSport route. The second calamity was taking the Fox Engine as far as it could go without having an in-house replacement, so they opted to use the off-the-shelf Unreal 4 engine which gave them the big brain idea of fusing console and mobile gaming for a bumper payday without taking into account how retarded such a move would be going into the PS5 generation. They could've easily made a mobile game and a next gen football title without trying to mould them together so people could play on the move. Who the hell wants to play on a 4K 60fps device against someone using an iPhone 6 ffs lol! PES was always legendary because of its gameplay irrespective of the licence but now they've lost that, they ultimately have nothing and the F2P model does not work whatsoever. There's actually less content in that than what they were releasing as demos under PES!
  4. EA make enough money that they don't need to monetise every mode in the game and that's what makes it really annoying. They are perfectly capable of developing modes outside of UT but they don't as they want to push people to that and to hell with everyone else. Even the core gameplay is pretty wank and it's less authentic that what PES was putting out 17 years ago. They'd probably be better off just releasing FIFA as a card game or something because the matches seem to take a backseat half the time anyway. Christ I wish Konami didn't destroy PES the way they did.
  5. AI has really made insane leaps of late and it's crazy what has been achieved. Its also quite deadly as its already been heavily abused. I've read about people being framed for crimes which have even made court, families being conned by phone from who they think are relatives and extreme cases of blackmail. Governments couldn't even understand or control things like lootboxes so I have no hope of this being regulated properly. The US Senate doesn't even fucking know how wireless routers work so chances are AI will probably end up regulating itself😎
  6. They also mentioned in court that the only reason they bought Bethesda was to stop Starfield from being a timed exclusive like Deathloop. Imagine blowing $7bn on a company you don't even want just to secure one pissy game for your failing console brand🤣 Some of the admissions Microsoft have made in the case are absolutely staggering and it's just proven so many people right in the last few years. It's even more embarrassing that Phil Spencer is playing every victim card he can get his hands on which is rather cringeworthy coming from a multi-billion dollar company. You just know the dumbass judge is gonna buy it especially against a successful Japanese company.
  7. This game looks to be blowing up massively - it's basically Diablo 2 + Vampire Survivors which is a phenomenal combination! Just picked it up for £3.43 in the Steam sale
  8. Remember those rumours where it was expected to be free to play - I bet it was gonna be but EA thought fuck it, why not rinse the FIFA community even harder🤣 Nothing will change - this will be FIFA 24 in nature but not by name and it's an absolute tragedy what Konami did to PES - literally undone a decade of hard work to turn the brand into a shared mobile experience using an off-the-shelf engine despite being on the next gen. If EA actually radically overhauled the career mode instead of focusing and forcing people on UT, that would make a big different to 'offline' players but it's barely had 2 major updates since 2008 which is ludicrous considering how evolving their in-game monetary schemes are.
  9. Twitter threatening to sue Meta already Twitter Threatens Lawsuit Against Meta Over ‘Copycat’ Threads App WWW.FORBES.COM Twitter accused Meta of hiring former employees to make a “copycat” of the Elon Musk-owned social media site, as Meta's Threads app draws millions of sign-ups. Threads got 30m sign ups on day one which seems a promising start and this could easily multiply especially with the ongoing dumpster fire at Twitter. Musk is literally reducing functionality and limiting usage to protect its information and internal tech but at the end of the day Twitter will always be a loss making platform so he will never be able to recoup off his $40bn-ish acquisition through net revenue gains ever IMO. Now with direct competition from an established multi-platform social media company with an existing reach of over 3.5bn people, they really are in the shit and I don't even think legal settlements or licensing could possibly be agreed because of what's at stake.
  10. Grime FREE on Epic until the 13th https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/grime
  11. Bring back Bebo! I still have songs to bluetooth share and pictures to publish with my Nokia😎
  12. Nearly two million copies sold in two weeks! Battlebit, the overnight success six years in the making, has sold just shy of two million in two weeks | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM The low poly Battlefield-like has the blindingly simple combination of a low price and lots of content. Made by 4 people and it's put Battlefield 2042 to absolute shame.
  13. So Meta aka Facebook will be launching their version of Twitter tomorrow and with the latter being in a complete shit show right now, it's a good time to do it. I don't think this will come close to dethroning Twitter and it is yet another risky venture by Cuckerberg, but if there is to be a chance to capture and shake up some of the market, now is the time to do it. Twitter is scrambling real bad right now with persistent poor decisions but I feel Threads looks just like an Instagram comment section so it's really had to assess. Grabbing people from existing Meta services and then having a clear functionality will be key in the basic sense but with all their services in the decline and haemorrhaging money in new projects, this is probably 13 years too late and a step back from their common ambitions.
  14. That's a rare headline😎 Sony 'Expected to Release a PlayStation 5 Slim Later This Year' Priced $399.99, Microsoft Says - IGN WWW.IGN.COM Microsoft believes Sony will release a PlayStation 5 Slim later in 2023 priced $399.99, according to a court document.
  15. And even worse Overwatch 2 won't be getting any more PvE story missions until at least 2024 | GamesRadar+ WWW.GAMESRADAR.COM We shouldn't expect any new story missions for the next couple of seasons of Overwatch 2 They'd be better off scrapping this altogether because it's just making what's left of the community even more furious and many high profile community members are walking away by the day. Also defies belief that despite supposedly 4 years of development, they can't seem to recycle any content or ideas from the cancelled portion. It was bad enough the prospect of seasonal-based story missions but now they aren't even committing to that which just gives the impression the whole single player portion is a backseat consideration and they don't even want to do it. They've already broken their promise and killed trust so cancelling the stories entirely isn't gonna make much of a difference anyway.
  16. Seems a very interesting game with a lot more depth and variety than what is on the surface excuse the pun! I was kinda tempted to give it a go but I saw Worthabuy's review the other day and it raised some concerns as to whether it be something I'd truly enjoy. Looks a great game for the Deck and a decent purchase any other time of the year but I'll probably hold on for something else in the summer sale.
  17. Daedalic are shutting down their developer-portion of the studio and laying off a third of staff after this disaster. They will focus solely on publishing going forward. Real shame as they were perfectly capable of maklng games but I will never understand why they made this turd. It was doomed as a concept even on paper.
  18. Game is coming out a month early on August 3rd for PC Baldur's Gate 3 PC release date jumps forward to early August, but PS5 gets slight delay WWW.EUROGAMER.NET Balder's Gate 3 will now be released in full on 3rd August on PC. This is almost a month earlier than was originally anticipated.
  19. This guy does some good underrated skits from a few years back
  20. Very strong rumours this is happening Fresh Red Dead Redemption Rating Sparks Remaster Rumours - IGN WWW.IGN.COM A fresh Red Dead Redemption rating in South Korea has sparked rumours about a possible remake or remaster. If it's true then I just hope it's not being made by Grove Street Games😆
  21. Definitely will have to go and see this next month While Disney is losing $900m on woke flops recently, Paramount continue to deliver big and it is glorious to see!
