  1. Another LOL Fallout 76 refunds offered in Australia as ZeniMax admits it WWW.EUROGAMER.NET I wish the EU's consumer protection standards were as strict as Australia.
  2. Let's look at it from a MP game perspective without the COD tag; the maps are largely terrible for a FPS game of this nature, there is a conflict of identity in its design along with several issues that were eradicated from such games in the past that have now been brought back including some which are completely unacceptable like spawn trapping/killing. If the leak is true about a total overhaul of several aspects then that pretty much speaks volumes. The minimap debacle alone just shows they were never comfortable or confident in their approach to core gameplay and if they can't get the basics right then the rest of the product is bound to have problems that follow on. Aside from the mechanics; this game is a blend between Ghosts and the old MW titles but it's taken too many negatives from those and put it into this one. People wanted a classic boots on the ground, modern setting COD title with a brand new engine and more interesting mechanics with no advanced movement. What they didn't want OR expect was such frustrating and ancient issues to pop up which has left the community heavily divided. There is definitely a good game under the hood and now the devs are awake to the wider community than just the testers/shills, maybe they will start working towards several improvements to the fundamentals based off the wealth of feedback they've received. A new COD should not have pre-2010 problems and people aren't annoyed because MW is something new and different because actually, it isn't when you break it down. I'm corner camping, glitching and exploiting like it's 2009 again!
  3. I think if this game had MW2 type maps, it would be a great experience. I am hoping we get start getting the DLC sooner rather than later. The fact you can spawn kill and trap on even large maps here is just ridiculous. Picadilly is probably the worst multiplayer map ever created in a videogame - it has zero flow, a totally illogical design and you respawn in the same spots every single time only to keep having to run back over your footsteps. It is the most uninspiring chore imaginable. Aniyah Palace is another one which is way too big/long - you die, and then have a 40 second run to get back into the action with people mostly camped in and around the palace with everywhere else empty. It's so demoralising having to run in empty spaces just to get back into the mix and then get killed cheaply only to have to do it again. The Euphates Bridge is another map where a team can spawn trap and control 90% of the map within the first minute. Here is the true insight A lot of people can't be too surprised though - this game is from the old team that created MW2 which had a lot of issues and it's also from the studio that brought us horrendously oversized and terribly designed maps from COD Ghosts like Siege, Chasm, Free Fall and Stonehaven. I would do a total rework of the bad maps and make adjustments to others. Favela from MW2 for instance had everything; elevation, tight corners, rooms, sight lines and windows but that one was appropriately sized and it flowed so well. Why can't they do something like that here is beyond me. They also have to do a total overhaul of Spec Ops - it seems they've put a lot of time and resources into this mode but the execution feels so disjointed and weak in Operations and Classic Spec Ops which is nothing like MW2 only has one mission and that's broken too. They need to start acting fast because COD games die very quickly these days and there are plenty of other choices available. *Edit just seen this Rumor: Mini-Map returning to normal later in Nov, 'big overhaul' to MW reportedly coming | Charlie INTEL CHARLIEINTEL.COM TheGamingRevoYT is claiming that he has additional information on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but as always, the information shouldn’t be...
  4. To put into perspective how embarrassing and greedy this £13 per month / £99 a year subscription is; - The Microsoft Game Pass Ultimate is £10.99 and gets you unlimited access to over 100 games and their paid DLC including the likes of Gears 5, Metro Exodus, The Outer Worlds, Forza Horizon 4 and to all new store exclusive games. This will even include the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator. You also get 6 months of Spotify premium chucked in for free. - Origin/EA Access which is £14.99 let's you play Ultimate versions of FIFA 20, Madden 20, Battlefront 2, NHL 20, Battlefield 1-5 including all DLC. The console sub also gives you the likes of Out of the Park Baseball. - uPlay+ gives you access to 100+ games for £12.99 which includes franchises like The Division, The Crew, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Watch Dogs. You also get full access to brand new games and a catalogue of classic non-AAA titles such as Anno. Fallout 1st costs £11.99 and gives you access to private servers for just 7 friends which have turned out not to be private and some are even previously used and rinsed. You also get a scrapbox which is already confirmed as broken, There's a fast travel tent, worthless Atoms, an outfit and emotes. All this shite for the price of a premium game pass from major AAA publishers. This on top of what is already one of the worst and most embarrassing products ever released that has literally destroyed an iconic brand and reputation of the developer. It's nothing more than a disgusting cash grab just like their scams with the canvas bag, Nuka Rum, the grotesque overpriced jacket and fake in-game store discounts. Shameful really.
  5. Some interesting information here from a pretty reputable source
  6. Liverpool 5-5 Arsenal last night was pretty insane - some great football being played by young and fringe players. Quarter final draw Oxford Utd v Man City Man Utd v Colchester Utd Aston Villa v Liverpool Everton v Leicester City We played Man City at home last year in this competition and lost 0-3 but we're in a far better position this season so we should give them more of a game. It's pretty crazy but quite a few of us are a tad disappointed with the draw - it would've been nice to have a shot at someone we haven't played for a long time like Liverpool, or where we stand a chance of progressing to the semi finals against weaker teams Colchester and Man Utd😎
  7. I tried some realism mode yesterday which was surprisingly good. I didn't get to try the night mode though. The bullshit is not quite as prominent plus people camp and play as passively as they do in core so if you're struggling with the shitty netcode, this may be worth a look as you don't really have to worry about being melted after shooting first.
  8. Launch trailer nearly 8mins long!
  9. Not sure where this leaves Origin but with more going to Steam, it's gonna leave the Epic Store very red faced indeed. Just when it looked like publishers were breaking away from Steam for their own platform or bowing to Epic's Fornite money; they cannot resit the massive customer base and features that Valve has on it's platform. Even shitty Bethesda came crawling back in utter shame. Ubisoft's shares have tanked and with all their upcoming games now delayed, they should probably bite the 25-30% bullet and come home.
  10. LOL! EA games are coming to Steam, starting with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM EA Access will also launch on Steam next year.
  11. Priority MP issues acknowledged Footstep audio needs a lot of toning down. The sounds are quality but the directional and distance audio is way off. People are scared to move and others just soundwhore corners for pre-firing. I use Claymore with the x2 perk and it's a filthy setup. I sometimes get more kills this way than gun ones. There's so many doors, angles and corners to exploit, you are guaranteed two kills almost every life. Battle chatter is laughably flawed - your character will speak at the worst possible times in which the enemy can hear it i.e sneak up on an enemy and your character will shout 'Enemy Spotted' and then the enemy turns round and you get melted. It can't be disabled either. All they have to do is make it so only your team can hear such notifications. If they aren't willing to do that, then there has to be an option to turn it off. Spawns need a complete rework on the non-beta maps especially Picadilly. I never thought Spawn trapping would ever come back after Havana ooh na naa in Black Ops 1. Even spawn killing is an issue on bigger maps especially in ground war.
  12. Also the review embargo lifts on November 1st which is 7 days before release - this is a good sign unlike all those AAA games which are NDA'd right until launch and sometimes beyond just so pre-orders and purchases don't get thwarted by things like the game being utter shite!
  13. Game now coming to PC in early summer 2020. For some reason, a few PS4 gamers are so engraged, they've decided to cancel their pre-order because it's not an exclusive. Great logic - people now not playing the game because others can in the future...!? I'm getting it on release and if it's good, I'll get it on PC too.
  14. Wouldn't want to get stuck behind something like this
  15. Tried Spec Ops earlier and it’s not quite what I was expecting. There are 4 co-op operations which are objective-based in rather large scale maps. These are supposed to be tied to the story but this doesn’t appear to be the case as they just seem to be generic missions with respawning enemies from all directions. There is also Classic Spec Ops which has just one map and you survive an onslaught of enemies which was part of a mission of the campaign except there are stacks more and it’s pretty relentless. Doesn’t appear to be any other missions available at this time which is very disappointing. i was hoping for something more in-line with MW’s Spec Ops mode, but 4 bland operations and one poxy mission is just not enough here and it’s not a great concept either. Feels really undercooked and poorly thought out. Could be a laugh in co-op once in a while and you can earn MP XP but I can see this getting old fast.
  16. It's the same on the Euphates Bridge map where one team can occupy 90% of the map including the bridge which overlooks the spawn and they wont even flip behind team that's pushed nearly the whole map so one team gets pinned. Even if they get out of the spawn area, they still have to deal with 3 ground level choke points and potentially multiple targets on the bridge. If you push deep and die, the game respawns you right back to your initial spawn so as it stands, there isn't a hope in hell of a flip. Even if Picadilly gets fixed, it's design is too flawed - the other spawn area is just as broken as it's completely exposed to the center of the map plus the only safe area is a shop door which can be claymored easily. The white pillars can also be locked down and even if you can catch a break to the centre, you can then be window killed from the top right. Any competent team can control the map and the remainder of the match in the first 30 seconds. It's a beautiful map but its even worse that MW3's downturn.
  17. Another one gone That's the top two plus a 1m+ channel gone. I hope Mixer doesn't come across as the Epic Store of stream sites by throwing money around to grow their service but sniping big names and playing into Twitch's controversies will only grow Mixer more.
  18. I played a few matches of ground war earlier which were horrendous experiences even when doing well. Battlefield may have gone to shit but one thing it always has done right is conquest. 32 players divided into squads with classes and a leaders who can issue commands. Matches are usually tidy, easy to follow and extremely strategic. Maps are also well-designed and appropriately sized. MW’s attempt at this format is an absolute shit show - there is no strategy, player organisation or flow to matches - it’s like they just made maps bigger and hoped for the best. It’s more of an opportunity for players to build easy killstreaks with as little effort as possible than a grand spectacle. Spawn and flank camping is rife and there are so many windows and cheese spots, you can be shot from any direction at any time. On another note, dead silence needs to be a perk or footsteps need to be dialled down IMO.
  19. I've played quite a few missions so far and it's pretty good - first one looks absolutely remarkable especially with ray tracing enabled. It feels like a traditional Modern Warfare campaign which is great although it's still a bit linear and as Phil said in another thread; somewhat on rails. A few missions are a bit short too whilst others drag. The cutscenes are superb too and I really like the tone. Probably closer to COD 4 and MW2 in terms of feel and there seems to be a good variety of missions to with some tributes paid to the other old games.
  20. I've actually been matched with console players today but only in 20v20 matches. Wasn't happening yesterday so either the crossplay is borked or they are struggling to fill lobbies efficiently already....
  21. That map is too big even for 20v20 and that's also taking into account that all players usually end up using only one third of it with spawn areas and flanking routes largely neglected. Terrible map which is only ideal for domination and that's it. Good looking map but once you get spawn trapped on there, it's game over. It's also way too open in Domination and if you cap B, it's almost impossible to lose. For me, the Russian map is dreadful - it's like a long 3 lane map with stacks of windows, stairs and elevated places. You can be shot from every direction and height in that one. Also the bridge map is a total mess - I have never had one spawn flip on that one plus you can pretty much spawn trap an entire team of 20 right off the bat. Spawn killing is a nightmare on there also. It definitely needs more flanking routes too.
  22. Sick burn for the devs when their old poster boy says this
  23. Seems they’ve removed the extra setting that was in the beta. I’d take a punt and say that it is working in regards to inputs but console users have found a loophole of sorts as expected. Every PC game I’ve played has been locked to KBM either with fellow PC users or them using it on console.
  24. Double check your crossplay is restricted to inputs rather than unrestricted and if you’re joining a party leader, make sure they also have their settings set to restricted. I have a feeling those are console players using KBM and they’ve found a backdoor to cheat the input detection most likely.
