I've done a bit of research into this console last couple of days and on the face of it, it may seem a very attractive purchase at such a low price however I don't think this is the case. Firstly it's only 1440p and despite the potential 120fps, it's nothing gaming hasn't seen for nearly 6 years and a step backwards for those using the XB1X or those looking for improvement across the board on that. This is also an all-digital console yet the SSD is only 500gb so expect to be able to store no more than 3 games at a time. There is also expected bottleneck issues going forward, so even with these specs, games may not reach the consoles potential. This means many titles may only be 2K/60 and the unit becomes dated after only a couple of years. I do think this is great business by Microsoft because it almost guarantees that they get paid off twice because people at some stage will have to upgrade to a XBSX or a future variant. Rather than someone buying the first gen console and keeping it throughout like some that owned the Xbox One VHS version, this format allows them to bait people in and then still get paid off full whack down the line. This does not bridge the gap between both generations IMO and just like the Xbox One S and the SAD, it's a bloody waste of money. People would be better off saving and sticking with the current gen or taking the full plunge on a Series X.

Rumours of a 3060 also being announced soon that is very similar in power to the 2080. Should also be priced nicely if the 3070 is anything to go by. Still waiting on confirmation of the 3070ti.

I've watched stacks of feedback from various content creators so far and this is the general gist:- - Visuals are decent with plenty of neat next gen-type effects but not a major step up graphically - Storestreak system is a bad idea where poor players can benefit but seasoned ones can thrive even more - New VIP mode is hit and miss - Vehicles are quite OP but can be destroyed with ordinary weapons - Wildcard additions are way too generous - Some weapon animations when moving look cumbersome, clunky and awkward - Movement feels more like WW2 than the recent fluid BO games along with the refined BOTG MW - TTK is pretty good - not as slow as BO4 but not rapid like MW - Quickscoping is way too easy - Larger modes not as enjoyable as the standard 6v6 - Footstep audio is good but the weapon sounds and general vibe is rather drab PC gameplay also released with next-gen comparable specs

Some more - I kind of get the impression that the content creators dislike this game but none have the balls to really speak up and tell it how it is. Everything seems so muted and flat with the reception and it's clear there are some major issues.

Presentation was decent. Really not sure about the scorestreak system not resetting after death though. Streaks are on a huge tally apparently to avoid spam and to enable crap players to get them. I think this could be a grave design error. Here's some gameplay anyway

Ah I get it now! Actually that seems an interesting way of doing it. I thought it would be a bit crazy if they charged for the console and then a sub on top!

Confirmed Cheap but a pretty weak console though that falls in between the One and the Series X.

$499.99 with a $35 a month subscription will really tot up. That's nearly $1000 off the bat for a unit and one year sub bundle. Could get very expensive if you have other entertainment subscriptions as well as household bills. It's great if you intend to play plenty of games and have the time to do so but a lot of users will just want the console and games of their choice without being tied down. Having said that though, Sony will have to provide a far better subscription that the current PS+ or a vast improvement on that at the very least.

If Warzone is retained and supported by IW then hopefully Treyarch will pull their fingers out of their arses and focus more on the MP this time. They neglected the fuck out of it with Blackout and all we got was time of day and changes of weather on a few maps plus a other ones brought back for the zillionth time. Don't want to see Blackout rejuvenated and I can't see zombies being supported greatly either.

Most of those cheaters are probably went to the PS4 using mouse and keyboard with their cams glued to their faces pretending they are using a pad!

Looks more like Battlefield Hardline than a Cold War type of game! Movement looks a bit weird and animations seem rough though. Looks like a cross between Black Ops 4 and Infinite Warfare. I'll have to see more gameplay but it looks like Treyarch will disappoint me once again. Maybe they'll get it right with Black Ops 6😎
