  1. It sure is business but banning all news output from the country is an insane action to take and not even willing to negotiate because of potential legislation is a pretty tasteless move especially when the likes of the UK have successfully negotiated an balanced framework between all parties. I think it's a very unethical thing to do and goes against the alleged core values that Facebook has banded around over the years. Canada and the EU are also drawing up legislation that will fall in-line with Australia so it will be interesting to see what Facebook do when more is at stake especially if existing competition laws are stacked into consideration.
  2. The problem is Facebook taking money for the free media. These news pages are in the hundreds of thousands each week globally and Facebook takes the whole share rather than publish the pages for free or offers a commission back. Several deals have already been struck with publications so this should also be the standard applied to other counties irrespective of a deal being set in stone. 4. Reusing as many assets as possible I imagine. It's the only reason I can think of as to why they wouldn't do something totally original from scratch. The studio has been in complete disarray for the last few years and was close to being disbanded so I think we'll get another Cold War situation where the game is rushed and things are recycled. They were working on a Vietnam game many years ago that never came to fruition so maybe they'll lean on that as their reasoning but I think it's a really lackluster move if the leaks are true.
  5. Absolute disgrace - essentially banning Australia from accessing basic news because Facebook would have to comply with a law that pays the publisher of the article a cut rather than reap all the income for themselves by embedding the page. Not only does this annihilate democracy, it stops people accessing crucial pages and has even impacted jobs from innocent people caught in the crossfire. It's a sad day to see a giant corporation trying to override a government this way whilst kicking the media in the teeth by siphoning off their work. Sadly it will likely just lead to negotiation rather than severe action. Australia is one of the few nations left that don't bow to such bollocks so I hope they don't buckle. Facebook blocks Australian users from viewing or sharing news WWW.BBC.CO.UK It comes in response to a proposed law that would force the company to pay publishers for content. I remember having a debate about 12 years ago at an old job where people said Facebook was just a social site for friends to connect like Bebo and Myspace - I was even branded a paranoid conspiracy nutjob when I remotely suggested Facebook would grow its presence for sheer global power, the control information and extreme wealth!
  6. If this is true then COD is done for. This would have to be one of the most uninspiring and lazy moves imaginable, even worse than Battlefield 5. Sledgehammer are on thin ice enough as it is Call of Duty 2021 leak claims new CoD will be set in World War 2 again - Dexerto WWW.DEXERTO.COM Call of Duty 2021 will apparently be set in World War 2 once more, with...
  7. Update to the UK terrain looks good
  8. This is interesting Oculus Quest 2 120Hz update potential makes the Valve Index a far tougher sell | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Oculus Quest 2's 120Hz update could make it a better VR headset than Valve's pricey goggles.
  9. Game has now passed 2m copies sold with 1m being sold in 4 days.
  10. This game has been ripped to shreds but this comparison is just adding insult😂
  11. I built my first raft yesterday to explore this island across the water and I immediately got it wedged between two rocks on the shore before I even managed to set sail😎 GGWP!
  12. The pronoun mafia are some of the most toxic of all the Twitter clowns - basically they go around celebrities profiles 18 hours a day asking them why they don't have their pronouns included in their bio and if they aren't willing to include it within 30 minutes, they are branded transphobic homophobes and nazi extremists. Almost as laughable of a situation as when a series of black celebs on social media were deemed right wing racists if they didn't include the BLM hashtag in their posts when the protests aka riots were going on. I am so happy I don't use the cesspool of social media. Whenever a story pops up like this, it's usually supposed anti-fascists fighting non-existent fascism they've created with their own brand of fascism or social justice warriors looking for anything to make them angry and then make a song and dance about it until someone buckles and they get their way. Basically anyone with a blue checkmark on Twitter that you haven't heard of is usually a cunt. Anyone with pronouns has either been forced to do it to save their career or they are one of those toxic progressives.
  13. I haven't really followed this but it's yet more double standards on something driven by a hate mob by the sounds of it. I've seen actors and other celebs endorse rioting, defunding police and literally wishing death on politicians and other people yet they've been branded 'stunning and brave'. There was a young black Disney actress last year who doxed random children only because they were apparently being 'racist' for questioning her extreme BLM stance for instance. We basically live in a world where a vocal minority uses platforms ran by like-minded owners to drive people down for literally no reason. Free speech and cenorship is the norm and if you say or do something wrong, some people with no lives online will aim to obliterate your career and life until they move onto the next person. I'm not sure if Disney are trying to right their wrongs or if they are just pandering to anyone who'd watch their shite these days but they should support their employees better and take action against the ones that legitimately do things wrong aka criminally.
  14. Game sold 1m copies in one week!
  15. Everton 5-4 Tottenham Spurs finally entertain under Jose but concede 5 to go out the cup! It was always going to be a tough game but that is a terrible result and another trophy missed. You gotta feel Mourinho has to with the Europa League as the League Cup won’t be enough.
  16. Do Black Flag first - Origins is an horrific grind after the 20 hour mark where you are level-gated and either have to do the same old mundane side quests over and over to progress, or pay Ubisoft for boosters where you proceed without playing the game😂 Christ I miss AC how it used to be. Thankfully Origins doesn't have any dance emotes😎

  19. This thread is talking about traditional multiplayer and not Battle Royale. Everyone and their mother knows that Activison print money from Warzone but this thread is about the impact this has had on the core multiplayer.
  20. I'm not a huge fan of survival games especially those that are in early access and didn't really understand what was so appealing about this one either looking at it, however I picked it up a few days ago as a punt and I have to say it is absolutely exceptional! Only played about 10 hours so far solo but everything in this game is on another level from the general mechanics to the fantastic crafting system. The building is really well implemented albeit a bit finicky on uneven land but the world is so intriguing and beautiful. Every aspect of this game so far feels spot-on and the potential is crazy - you really get the sense the developer knows exactly what they are doing and how to do it which is rare for this type of game. I hear the co-op also works really well and is tremendous fun! It's just a pleasant game to play that keeps on surprising with some great attention to detail and progression aspects tied to the crafting. I think this will be the best survival game of its kind if it isn't already and I've experienced zero bugs or issues so far. It feels so polished and really puts other games in this tarnished genre to shame.
  21. Fortnite is free and the skins in that game are very impressively done especially the licenced ones. Call of Duty on the other hand paints a gun a few colours and tweaks the back-end statistics and then wants users to pay £30+ just for one. Fornite is also an ongoing game whereas COD becomes obsolete each year so spending £1000+ on cosmetics for a year only to do it again on the next game doesn't really provide value.
