  1. Me after a few games on Nuketown It's only taking a couple of games to level playing on this map with DXP enabled.
  2. I really don't know why Miami isn't included in the Combined Arms mode. it just as big as Cartel and ideal for 12v12 objective modes like Dom or Assault. I joined a Kill Confirmed game yesterday and my team won with just 35 tags and I've been in several TDM games that have gone to the time limit.
  3. I had no intention of getting the game until the day before release and that was only by virtue of having nothing else worth playing until Cyberpunk arrived. Wasn't feeling Beyond Light or the grind of Odyssey. I'm actually quite glad I did get Cold War and will definitely get my money's worth. It's the best COD game I've played of this gen although that's not saying much but it can be fun despite the lack of map content. Christmas will be key though because if season one sucks and people flock to Warzone, the game will likely start fading just like MW2019.
  4. Not yet but the Prestige Shop and other elements will arrive in season one so you can earn at least 3 prestige keys right to unlock stuff in the shop when it comes. Ranking seems more worthwhile than the main level grind that was in Modern Warfare.
  5. Definitely not worth getting a console just for one game especially if it's available through other means which offer the same level of quality. The only difference with the PS5 version is some ray traced reflections on Miami and the ability to play at a higher framerate. That's pretty much it. The availability of the console is also extremely limited through legitimate means. I would wait until there is specific games you are interested in that are built exclusively for the new gen especially if you are still happy with your existing machine.
  6. - I go 38-21 with 43 total objectives and finish second - Teammate gets 21 kills and 6 objectives and finishes top with over 1000 more points than me. This just goes to show how flawed the new scorestreak system is in places. No doubt the person had a huge streak with multipliers kicking in but it just seems so OP and objective play is shafted in some cases. It's really hard to build killstreaks in this game I must admit - 9 is probably my best but you don't even need to chain too many kills to land big streaks and insane points whereas objective players who may get two kills for every death don't have many points opportunities outside of the multiplier system I kinda miss the traditional system really. Bad players still don't stand much of a chance in earning even the smallest ones yet better ones can now land big ones even after dying a few times.
  7. I'm gonna be playing with a minimal HUD and hopefully this will remove all the UI clutter like this. Mafia Definitive Edition did the same - beautiful immersive game ruined by some horrible interface elements.
  8. Went 46-19 on my first match which was Domination. Quite like the aesthetics of the map this time around and way better than what it looked like in BO3/4. Straight in with a quad😎
  9. Had a go at Zombies earlier - it's pretty cool you can level up your rank and weapon XP this way. It's also a good warmup for MP and for blowing off Steam.
  10. Cartel looks like a Call of Duty Ghosts map. No-clip foliage is just sooooo 2008😂
  11. I was in a lobby last night and 7 people voted to play Miami KC over Checkmate. I got the hell right outta there!
  12. Nuketown releases later at 6pm GMT or 10am PST. We also have a week long double XP and weapon XP.
  13. It's crazy how COD has changed - it once was a casual shooter played at a steady pace where positioning and general gunplay were key factors to success along with a sense of awareness in the larger and less linear environments. Nowadays it's more of a sweatfest of sliding around on knees (even uphill on Cartel), bunnyhopping instead of walking/running, jumping around corners to screw the hitboxes, stimming in cover after being shot to shit, pre-aiming galore etc. The aggressive implementation of SBMM really kills a lot of the fun so if you do well, you get punished essentially. It's very hard to improve before you hit a brick wall and then likely get set back. Treyarch have said that SBMM has been in every COD since the original Modern Warfare but that's total bullshit. I played in many varied lobbies in the original Black Ops and I know this because I used to look at leaderboards/combat records when the timer was counting down to see who to watch and which players were weaker. If SBMM was in the game, it didn't work very well that's for sure. There's is no way in hell it was in MW2 either. I really don't know why Treyarch push this so much especially when most people don't want to be playing in such a competitive-driven experience. It's sapped so much fun of the franchise this past gen. Cold War may be boots on the ground and an 80's COD but it still feels like advanced movement with all the crazy stuff people can pull to get an upper hand on opponents, whether it be sliding or manipulating the lag compensation like we saw in BO4. The wonky animations in this game makes it hard enough as it is to track a player let alone if they are screwing the hitboxes through sliding, jumping or bunnyhoppiing. There is already enough artificial factors in the game which tamper with how your connection appears let alone other players being able to make it worse. This game would be so much better if it was built from an entirely casual standpoint where connection is prioritised with no lag comp nonsense. Jumping needs more weight and consequence and sliding really should be nerfed or taken out of the game. I've been shot at dick-level so many times by someone sliding themselves into me (this line will be in the out of context thread guaranteed) At least the dolphin dive was more of a gimmick and not a huge aspect of the core gameplay. The old COD's really nailed the mechanics I feel and everything was technically spot on particularly in the classic Modern Warfare days. Treyarch always seem to go against the grain these days.
  14. Someone got hold of Cyberpunk 2077 early and streamed 20 minutes of it | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM That didn't take long. Doesn't look like it'll be delayed again thankfully.
  15. I've had a dreadful session tonight - lost more than I won and some of the teams I've been landed on have been embarrassing. Connection seems to be worse tonight and lag comp is out of control. I've even had the vintage 'connection interrupted' pop up. This sums up the shit I've been playing with.
  16. It seems like it - I've played quite a few games today and only gone from Prestige one level 1 to 8 - usually I can nail that in about 4 matches but now it's taking 5-6 matches just to level. I honestly don't know how some people have maxed out already.
  17. My understanding is there are currently 3 prestige levels (55, 50 and 100) in this 'pre-season' period. I expect more to be added once the actual season/battle pass (separate leveling) starts. Thankfully you keep all you stuff earned but what's struck me is that the levels are really slow rather than mimicking that of the first prestige XP rate. Prestige One level 1 may as well be level 56 with the amount of XP required - it's taken me about 8 matches just to reach level 3. Getting to level 50 for Prestige 2 is going to be one hell of a slog. I've seen quite a few Prestige 3 level 100's already which is just fucking insane. They have to be playing and sweating it non-stop for over 12 hours a day to reach that level holy fuck. Either that or they are consuming a crazy amount of Mountain Dew and Doritos for the DXP codes.
  18. This had me in tears😂
  19. This is embarrassing
  20. Coming November 22nd!
  21. Fantastic win for Spurs over Man City as they go top! Man Utd currently beating West Brom 1-0 which is equally impressive😎
  22. Played a few games of Combined Arms tonight for a change. If you can get a decent lobby then it's superb fun otherwise it can be a clusterfuck of frustration. The Crossroads maps is pretty atrocious for this mode as snipers can plague the match - it's almost unbearable if you're on the receiving end and virtually spawn-trapped. It's great if your team are on top and playing offensively. Cartel works very well and Armada is reasonable despite being a bit fragmented. I wish there was a large Kill Confirmed mode but Assault (momentum) and Domination are good enough. This is my best game so far probably score and fun-wise. When everyone puts in a shift and plays the objectives like this, matches can be incredible. When you have xXQwickSCopeZz on your team going 4-19 at the back of the map then it can be a totally different story though.
  23. You'll probably like this one as it's much faster - the maps are slightly larger than the usual Treyarch offerings of late but there is plenty of action to be had and the game is pretty decent fun. Lack of content could prove a big sticking point in keeping users on board but what's there is actually very good. Not quite as refined as MW but way more enjoyable.
