Hello! Welcome! You can call me "La"... and yup, I'm in my 30's lol. Been playing video games since I was basically born. Originally had some consoles but those were for exclusives and for some other games. I was always a PC gamer at heart, as I used to build PCs with my dad. Our Christmas gifts were usually PC parts lol. There are some other women gamers here in FG. @Rumelylady is one of them too. What do you like to play? For social stuff, you'll catch me on with everyone in Destiny 2. I'll probably start getting back into Valheim (we have 2 servers in FG)... and I'll probably poke around in 7 Days to Die (FG has its own server). For what I truly and really enjoy? Strategy games. RPGs. Basically anything really story driven with choices. I could talk all day about Mass Effect and Dragon Age. For other games, Final Fantasy will always have a place in my heart. I would love it if Pikmin would continue. I have also spent hundreds of hours in games like Civilization, Endless Legend, Humankind. Hope to catch you on!

Aw. Shucks. Thanks. But, we should also note that the foundation of FG wouldn't be what it is for people like me and @Leeesh13 to build on if it wasn't for all the other winners, @GazzaGarratt, and @Diddums. The creation of FG by Diddums and the continual behind-the-scenes work by Lee is what makes this all possible. I hope to help make things even bigger and better for 2022! (once I find a good balance between hybrid work, gym, and games lol) Also, FGer of the Year shared with darling-husband @TurboR56Mini for doing the social aspects that I can't do lol... and for being the stellar D2 player he is, for leading teams, teaching, and just jumping in when needed. So, thanks, FG, for making our COVID-quarantine time actually fulfilling and fun. Thanks to @wh1skeyactual for bringing us in. Thanks to @Kemp210 for constantly being our third in nightfalls and other fireteam activities. Thanks to @Baabcat for being an amazing raid partner, along with @Venom for always leading and teaching. We will see everyone on D2, Valheim, 7 Days, other games, and on the boards!

I think at this point, the only person who fits that description is me hahahaha. However, @TurboR56Mini and I are leaving town today for the weekend to go hang out with @Riff Machine a little... unless, you actually do this today before 12pm ET/5pm GMT... I'll have to eventually run the dungeon next week...

I hate that it's better with all the DLC. The only one I have turned off is "Rise and Fall"... but the others, I tend to leave on. I desperately miss the mechanics of Civ IV. Have you tried Humankind? It's complex in its own ways. Some of what you see in Civ VI is "inspired"/"taken" from Endless Legend developed by Amplitude. So, some of the mechanics in Endless Legend are in Civ VI... and Amplitude's newest game Humankind.

Been having a blast playing this... learning the mechanics... figuring out what strategy works best for me currently. Also, reading the update on the upcoming patch, I love that they are listening to the players to address some quality of life items, namely resource quantity and end game. The next patch is going to allow the player to choose the abundance of resources. The following is going to allow a true "last player standing" end. Currently, even the longest game ends at 600 turns, which for me, is too short. I like to take my time and see what happens. So, I think the misunderstanding is that people think they use "fake guns" all the time. But, they don't. They actually use real guns with blanks. Actors aren't responsible for loading the gun. All the responsibility is on the prop master. The prop master manages all the guns and loads them. Shows the actors how to use the guns. Verifies all the safety stuff too. However, lots of people forget or don't know how "blanks" work. Just because there's no tip, doesn't mean a shard remnant from a blank doesn't always remain in the barrel, and that's what might have been "shot out". Are there fake guns, sure. Are the ones that they shoot fake? Not really. And, there's the random fact from my very random life experience on this.

Ah BJJ... leaves me always feeling uneasy lol. Very awesome you started some martial arts! I love it. I've been on/off some sort of combat martial arts since I was 19. I would have started training at a younger age if I was allowed. Right now, I'm training in MMA with an emphasis in Muay Thai. I previously trained in Eskrima/Kali... then the standard boxing when I came back to the US as finding a legit instructor was and is difficult. Sparring is always a blast. But, I've learned that I prefer to keep my opponent at a distance, so I react and counter a lot faster when I'm wielding sticks as opposed to empty hand. Or, if my current Kru just decides to switch from drilling combos and go into sparring without telling me, I will end up using moves from Eskrima to counter. It's a lot of fun for both of us. He doesn't get a student who only knows what he's taught him, and I.. well, I just try to survive lol. He knows I train for real life situations and not for sport... so we always end up taking it to another level when we go over combos and counters. Have fun with it!

@Baabcat - sort of struggle on the numbers? I think a lot of it has to do with companies doing Return to Office and whatnot. At least that's the issue for me and @TurboR56Mini . As for others, I think there might be a disconnect on some who are more technologically challenged than others. I no longer have the time to personally reach out to the usuals, and they aren't easily found anymore lol. @Leeesh13 has been doing a fantastic job on pulling everyone together while I have not been able to do my usual rounding up of people... and posting raid events! I think for today, if we get 1 more, then we could 5-person it if necessary. Also, we're down to do more LW. I do need to get more comfortable with it lol.
