  1. Great job Lee, looks sick!
  2. Welcome to FG!!
  3. I think most of us are pretty new to it, I wouldn’t be expecting a high level of Madden play 😂
  4. What's good all? It's Suberbowl month, which means there's no better time to get the ball (egg) rolling for... FG's Madden 22 Connected Franchise! For those not aware, Madden enables users to play a conected franchise mode, which allows us to all play the equivalent of career mode together, each controlling a team! For now, I'm just trying to gauge interest, but some general points to consider/discuss: This will be played on the PS4 version of Madden 22, to ensure all can play. There are 32 available teams to choose from, those not controlled by a player will be controlled by the AI. We need to commit to a number of games we are happy to play each real-life week. A dedicated day to get our games played could be a good idea? If anyone doesn’t play their games, they will be simulated to ensure we don’t stall the progress of the league. The league will start with a Fantasy Draft, to ensure as even teams as possible. I’m still looking into the recommended settings for the games (quarter-length, difficulty etc), but wanted to start gauging interest early. I’ve never ran one of these myself, so am open to any suggestions to make things run as smoothly as possible! For now, please just comment below if this is something you are interested in, and we can start to form a more concrete plan! GGFG

    Clubs Update

I don't mind what club we play for, as long as everyone is able to play. The reasoning for leaving the first club was to give people time to get their pros up a bit, and I think we should be in a much better position now. Having a second club for those who want to play during the week is an option, though it will annoy me with stats a bit! Personally I don't really care for the cups, we genuinely win about 90% of the ones we enter, and they don't feel nearly as much of an accomplishment as progressing through the league. You often times can't even find opponents for the finals due to how unpopular some of them can be! If this is what the majority want however, I'll still happily jump on. Overall with clubs I'm generally in the 'do as you like' camp. If peeps feel like jumping on a Monday and playing a cup, that's fine. If people want to play some league matches during the week, that should be fine too. Restricting when people are allowed to play games seems a bit silly to me.
  6. Welcome back dude!
  7. Congrats everyone!!
  8. I love a WW2 setting, regardless of how many times it has been done. The game is fun, and the new map looks pretty cool, but as Tom said it’s just too glitchy right now. The lag was ridiculous, and a few graphics glitches with guns etc need to be addressed before I obsess over it 😂
  9. Much love to FG ❤️
  10. Yeah, don’t think I’ll be committing to the championship either, will try and pop on for a few races where I can though!
  11. Whose idea was that Nissan 👀😂. Great season of races folks! I definitely had some struggles between lack of ABS, not getting on with the car, and a general disregard for practice 😂
  12. I've had a few practice laps, not looking too promising so far! Lots of tight corners in a heavy car unfortunately!
  13. Well aware I'm putting my grumpy hat on with this...😅 Speaking solely from my perspective here, I don't know if the match reports/team sheets etc are worth the energy putting into them, unless it's something that someone particularly enjoys taking a handle of? I love getting games in with everybody regardless of how we play, it's a good little escape away from everything. When it turns to collecting stats and design work, it starts to sound more like work than fun, and that itself would be the cause of the burn out! I'd be interested to know peoples genuine opinion on if they want to have the stats available to look at when they can't make it, or if team-sheets actually inspire people to get online and play, because otherwise it's adding stress to something quite simple for the sake of a picture people will glance at for a couple of secs and move on.
  14. I don't really see the point in stopping. If anyone needs a break or are away there's no obligation to come on, but I don't think we should be stopping Mondays for everybody! The fact we had a full team out of the blue on Monday shows there's still a lot of interest for people to play!
  15. I'm one of those people everyone hates who'll pick up the new FIFA as soon as it comes out each year. Spend so much time playing it, that I don't have any qualms about paying the money each year. If people still want to play clubs on 21 that's fine by me!
  16. Had a blast, cheers guys! Had some great battles with @Lurch and @crispymorgan , can see it being a tough season! I definitely need to get more race practice in, bottled it on a few occasions when coming close to others, particularly a big torpedo into James on the second race...
  17. I don't think I've ever been addicted to a video games. I occasionally have periods of obsession over a game, though that tends to die right down after a week or so. I think my low attention span is actually a bit of a saviour here! With all that being said, I've played a stupid amount of FIFA over the last year... though I attribute that more to the social side of playing with FGers more so than obsessing over the game itself.
  18. It's definitely in the FG rotation of games to play, can be great when there's a bunch of us on!
  19. I really enjoyed A Quiet Place 2, definitely did the first film justice. It's one of the films I think is really enhanced by watching in the cinema. Having a room of people so on edge that they daren't eat popcorn in case they make a noise at times 😂

    Euro 2020

I think it's incredibly hard to judge England managers. In my eyes, to be measured a success you have to win a tournament. I personally don't really care that we got to the semi's in the World Cup. It's an indicator we may be on the right path, but I don't think it's something to go wild about. I recognise the problem here is that opportunities to win only come every two years, and you have to literally be the best in the world to succeed. The time frame at which we look at international managers needs to be considerably longer than for club level managers. I think Southgate has done enough that he deserves a lot more time at the helm to try and grab some success. With all that being said, 0 goals conceded in the group stages is excellent, and overall I'm happy with how things are going. I had been complaining that the system with Kane on his own upfront hasn't been working, and rather than 3 'attacking mids' he'd benefit from dedicated wingers or a second forward playing off of him. I think the solution may just be as simple as making sure that whoever those 3 behind Kane are, are really performing. So far Grealish and Saka have done excellent when on the pitch. Sterling's grabbed a couple of goals (and when they are few and far between, that can't be discredited). I agree with Macca, that the decision not to give Sancho any game time is a bizarre one, but we have no idea what's happening behind the scenes.
  21. I had Toyota (now taken) and Porsche in my head to begin with, but haven't driven most of the cars, so will trust your judgement here! GT-Rs win big style points with me, so perhaps Nissan?
  22. Too many to name, but a few off the top of my head: TV Omar Little - The Wire The Hound - GoT Huey/Riley Freeman - The Boondocks Will Smith - Fresh Prince of Bel Air Jake Peralta - Brooklyn 99 Film Mars Blackmon - She's Got to Have It Jules Winfield - Pulp Fiction Mickey O'Neil - Snatch Gunnery Sergeant Hartman - Full Metal Jacket Alonzo Harris - Training Day
  23. I'm in!
  24. I assumed Southgate was just allowing players as much rest as possible after a difficult season, particularly with the City/Chelsea players who weren't present at the game.
  25. Randomly generated selection order is as follows - 1 - Kiwi & Macca 2 - Greboth & Paul 3 - Phil & Jordie 4 - Mike & Crispy 5 - James & Lee List of manufacturers to choose from is as follows: Alfa Romeo Aston Martin Audi BMW Chevrolet Citroen Dodge Ferrari Ford Honda Hyundai Jaguar Lamborginhi Lexus Mazda McLaren Mercedes Mitsubishi Nissan Peugeot Porsche RenaultSport Subaru Toyota Volkswagen
